There was nothing remarkable about the ice cream here. We got the toasted coconut and the macadamia nut and they were just meh... Not a ton of flavor, not a lot of creaminess. I've been wanted to try Ube ice cream since getting on the island. We drove to the nearby strip mall and happened into Tropical Dreams. I was not sure how to order the ice cream because I didn't know the name of it. I looked over their options but didn't see any purple ice cream anywhere on display. I inquired, asking for an incorrect item and the lady who helped me suggested their Ube ice cream that has coconut flakes in it. They had it in back and she offered me a taste. The gentleman said they didn't have that flavor, but he could give me a scoop of vanilla with a few Oreos on the top. Husband loved it! Ice cream wasn't too sweet, perfectly balanced. Oreos were fresh. I had the original Dole Whip which was refreshing. The ice cream and Dole Whip were great, but their service was even better. Yes, it's pricey but in Hawaii you pay $10 a gallon for good milk so what do you expect. But this is some awesome ice cream and don't let the scoop size bother you at 18% butterfat your not likely to be able to eat it all.
