Usually, I get the chicken and dumplings. I was celebrating getting a new job so, I got the ribeye. I ordered it medium rare. Unfortunately, the cut wasn't good. It was thin and had thick gristle, throughout. I assumed that I would need salt. I asked for flakey salt. The sweet waitress/bartender, brought me kosher salt in a nice container. The salt helped! However, the steak was too far gone to help. It was closer to medium and, again, the cut was bad. (Note: I didn't complain! I'm sure that if I would have, they would have done anything to correct it!) The positives? The green beans were AMAZING! Still a bit crispy and tasted great! The mashed potato's were good. I ordered an Old Fashioned. It was wonderful! The service couldn't have been better! I love the bar side of Wildfire! The seating can be private or meant for people watching. It's very comfortable! All in all, this is the place to go! The service is always amazing! I didn't enjoy the ribeye but, I'm a steak snob. Wildfire will always be my "go to" spot! Sit in the bar area and you will get the best service! Edit to say that the regular bartender is fantastic! He always has been!

Not impressed. The food is terrible and atmosphere is strange. Like old grandmas…read more The calamari was clearly cheap frozen and bland. Didn't have any of the crust advertised Thr mason jar drinks are water downed and taste bad. Sent it back My filet was okay but has a Smokey unpleasant taste and lacked flavor. The baked potato as good. My dates veal came with the worst raviolis I've had the sweet pairing doesn't even make sense I don't get.

Decided to share a drink and play Jenga on the side patio here after we went to Hoot & Annie. It was relaxing and fun. We also spent time chillin' on the rooftop in the space they call Escobar. It was so peaceful sitting on the rooftop and watching the town move about below us. The interior of the tavern is a neighborhood live music venue/pub with a nice sized stage and dance floor, two bars, photo booth and more. We came in on an early Thursday evening (dinner time) and business wasn't too busy, a few others in attendance. The staff were prepping for a busy evening ahead as they tend to get packed when musicians are performing. Everyone working from the manager to the bartenders were so incredibly nice and treated us as though we've always known each other. It's that total Round Rock friendly vibe. Prices are really affordable, especially during happy hour. The frozens are tasty! Really cool spot in the center of town. Definitely plan to hit them up the next time we're in RR.

They've got two full bars, a stage for live music, and even a vending machine stocked with everything from cigarettes to tampons, which definitely made me stop and stare for a few! There's also a video poker room, photo booth and a great outdoor area with comfy seating, Jenga games, and a food truck, so there's plenty to keep you entertained. Service is quick, the beer on tap is cold, the place was clean, and I loved the funny t-shirts they have for sale. I can't wait to come back and check out the live music scene!

I walked into CJ's, looked around and left without ordering…read more That is not good. * * * I came into CJ's planning on sitting at the bar, Having a burger and a drink or three, Watching a baseball game and enjoying life. It was the Fourth of July and mid-afternoon to boot - So they weren't as fully set up as they would be on a normal day. * * * CJ's is the food and drink operation of Mel's Bowling Alley. As a Bowling Alley, Mel's looks like it is first rate. The bowling alleys in Austin are fairly lame. This place had a million alleys, a large arcade, and some of the psychedelic ultraviolet-lit alleys that make modern bowling more interesting. As a place to throw strikes, spares and gutter balls, Mel's looks pretty good. * * * However the high quality of the bowling operation does not extend to the food operation. They have two primary bars/eating areas. It being the Fourth of July on "odd hours", one of the rooms was semi-closed. The room where they actually were serving customers was pretty gross. I went to sit at the bar, The bar at literally every single stool was filthy. There were old dishes that obviously had been sitting there for quite some time. Where there were no dishes, the bar was greasy with leftover food and spills. The tables were a little better but not by much. The bartender really didn't seem to care. She was chatting with a staffer. After the staffer left, she was just hanging out. * * * If a food establishment can not be counted on to clean the public areas, How can you be sure the kitchen is not filthy as well? I was out of there, to do my eating and drinking elsewhere. * * * If you go to Mel's to bowl, Check out the food areas before you order any food from your bowling lane. If they are as dirty then as they were on the day I visited, Finish your bowling and go to a more reliable place for your snacks.

Music was cover charge worthy and from what I heard from other patrons and staff, they also loved the music. Food was ok. Drinks and service were fantastic. Ticked away in a little complex without 79 visibility along with a couple of other places that don't seem to get much traffic either. Finally made our first visit so we could try "the best fish & chips" in the Austin area. I was surprised how big it was, they have a patio, a bar area and lots of tables I was shocked as from the outside it looks tiny. Service was fantastic which was shocking with them closing soon. The service was enough to want me to go back hopefully for us in this area they end up somewhere close by as I know how hard it is to find good workers. Pretzels were good! Onion rings were our favorite! Their version of the Philly was just okay, was very plain with not much flavor hubby didn't even finish half. But the star of the show was the fish and chips. My son was over the moon! Couldn't even finish half of it and he wanted to haha. Sad to see they will be closing their doors but hopefully the owner has something else up his sleeve as they were onto something with this place.
