I had an idea of exactly what I wanted, he explained what would work and what wouldn't work as far as wearing my wedding bands with a new setting. I finally landed on a setting in their clearance section. I ended up paying less than half of what I expected to be my minimum cost to have this work done. The result is incredible! According to my sales representative, it is the best jewelry store in Georgetown. From the moment you walk in, our sales representative was welcoming and genuinely interested in helping us find exactly what we were looking for. The selection was beautiful, and she took time to explain options without any pressure. My friend and I were just browsing. Another jeweler in Austin did major damage to my emerald ring. I spoke to Eric then Terry and a plan was decided upon and I left my beloved ring with them. They performed absolute magic. The ring was reclaimed, redone, cleaned to a brilliant sparkle (even my little baguettes) and I picked new stone (from a super selection with a wide price range) and they set it after all the prongs were replaced. This is a family heirloom ring from the 1930's . It belonged to my uncle Bobby . I wanted to restore it to pass it Down to my nephew who was named for his great uncle . Quenans expert jeweler beautifully Restored this ring . Replacing the center Diamond stone with one from another ring I had that was beyond repair . The finished ring was so beautiful , the picture really doesn't do it justice . They had to order the center bracket the stone sits in to do the repair . The care and work is exceptional , My nephew was speechless when he received the ring . Thank you Quenans from the bottom of my heart . They have done other repair work for Me as well . I had my Diamond earrings with screw back posts replaced with smooth security posts . The screw back posts wore Down and would not stay securely fastened . Our family has been going to Quenan's for years, so when it came time to get our wedding bands, we were very excited to shop here. We are from LA, but our parents live in Georgetown. The staff is absolutely amazing - knowledgable, kind, trustworthy, and patient. (Which are such great qualities for associates to have when you're trying on dozens of rings and trying to make a big decision) That was a year ago now. We just went back in over the holidays to get a few brackets tightened on our engagement bands, and not only did they take care of that; they cleaned our rings and re-dipped the white gold completely free of charge. Fantastic and fast service! They polished my beat-up wedding band to perfection. It was pretty worn, scratched, and dull because I have it on me all day, whether washing dishes, bathing dogs at work, gardening, or getting a soak in the jacuzzi. Clearing out my mother's home. Took 25+ sparkly rings that belonged to her. I knew that 90% were pretty but had no value. But they told me I could bring them in & they would be glad to verify whether they were real (metals / stones) or simply sparkly. Anna was very kind as she worked with me. Sure enough, it was 95% sparkly, but she identified the rest with the metal & the types of stones for me. She even took a few pieces to the back since the appraiser was available for further info. Beautiful store, lovely staff, very willing to advise and help. Oh, and the jewelry's not bad either (it's gorgeous!!!!) FYI: parking in downtown Georgetown is never easy. Just be prepared. Gave this jewelry store a few pieces to fix..and my mothers ring to add a diamond to...When I went back to get my moms ring (she passed away, and this was what she had left me)..they said they had given it back with the other things I had picked up earlier. I had not gotten it in those things. I stated I had not received it..and she finally looked in the safe. Guess what..it was there. Also, I had asked to be called with how much it would cost to redo and add the diamond in the ring. They did not. The work had been done without the call to me. My wife and I have been to Quenan's a number of times for servicing jewelry or small purchases. Steve and Kyra and their staff have always been very friendly and nice, so when it was time to upgrade the diamond on the wife's wedding ring, this was our first stop. I had already been doing research online to get approx. diamond values, but was so glad I went to Steve instead. He told me to select a couple of diamonds online with Blue Nile and similar that I was considering, and he then found similar cut, clarity, etc. stones in his network and had them shipped in so I could see them in person. I went in to get two watches serviced. I was greeted immediately after I came in and waited about 5 minutes while a new battery was put in one of the watches. Steve and the woman at the desk chatted with me about my Rolex, which needed its every-three-years or so oiling and servicing. It was nice that they had a person who was a licensed Rolex technician that they didn't have to mail the watch to. I enjoyed the store environment, which in the service business, is totally all about how you are spoken to and how your problem can be solved. However, if you're looking for the best spot for jewelry with super knowledgeable and helpful staff then you need look no further! I was shopping for a custom engagement ring and went to a few different places in Austin looking for a certain style for a good price. I went to some good stores but all of them had "car salesman" type employees who it seemed like just wanted me to make a purchase and get out. I had a friend recommend Quenan's and decided to stop by. And I'm beyond glad that I did! They didn't have the exact type of ring I was looking for but Eric got on the phone and got me prices and then even took care of customizing the ring with the company. I didn't ever have to really do much! He took care of getting me all I needed at a price that was better than any store in Austin! Plus, the whole time I didn't feel rushed or pressured to buy it. Then when it came to the diamond, he sat down with me for 2 hours or so and explained all that there is to diamonds and brought in a few diamonds to look at. He got me a great deal on a fabulous diamond as well! After this he repeatedly kept me updated with when the ring would be expected and when we hit a delay with the ring company he felt like my lawyer! He worked with the company to expedite my ring! And....it didn't end there! Any questions I've had after the purchase was long gone, he answered without any problems! This is a family owned store and the second you walk in you can't help but fall in love with the incredible staff and the amazing jewlery. I have walked into the store many times in my running clothes gross and sweaty and they are always extremely solicitous and helpful. Not only have they serviced my Tag many times, but they have given me appraisals and even fixed jewlery I didn't even buy there free of charge. A couple of years ago I took an old family heirloom ring to Quenan's because I was never a huge fan of the old setting. Kyra, one of the owners, actually designed a gorgeous new setting for my grandmother and grandfather's diamonds. Kyra gave me a beautiful way to wear an old family heirloom daily, and I have a gorgeous one-of-a-kind setting. I get so many compliments on the ring, and I love that I get to have a part of my great grandparents with me all the time. About a month ago, I called this place. I needed to verify that the stone I purchased online was what it was purported to be and understood they have a gemologist on staff. I explained I wasn't looking for an appraisal. This was not an expensive piece. I explained I didn't need anything in writing, just a quick ID. The very nice lady on the phone told me to come back and speak to one of two people who would be there in the afternoon and that they'd likely look at it unofficially for free or possibly a very small fee. Great. Perfect. Well, I expected to find friendly people after my talk with the nice lady on the phone. But what I found was nothing of the sort. I walked in with my husband and found two ladies at the back of the store. I explained my phone conversation. Neither identified themselves. Instead one of them very gruffly told me I could get one of two types of appraisals. When I explained again what the lady on the phone said and that the item was too inexpensive to warrant an appraisal, she said she'd take it to the back and have someone look at it. She came back within ten seconds and said "the owner says it could be a topaz or a spinel", but I'd have to get an appraisal to find out. Note that all of this came with a snotty attitude. I expressed again that I had come on the advice of the lady on the phone, again because I wasn't looking to spend a quarter of the price of the item or more just to identify it. She shrugged and turned back to talk to the other lady behind the counter. DONE. Conversation over. I kid you not. She dismissed me as if I was a piece of trash that blew in off the street. Note that I was perfectly polite to her the entire time. Snobby, snobby, snobby. Rude. I would never step foot in this place again. And that's a shame because what I didn't get a chance to tell them is that we've been looking for a one carat radiant cut diamond to replace the diamond in my engagement ring, for our twentieth anniversary that's coming up in December. Always be careful who you turn up your noses at, ladies. Just because I'm needing advice on an inexpensive piece, that doesn't mean I don't have money to spend.
