A Treasure Trove for Tech & Gear--If You Know How to Look…read more I've been coming here for years, and while buying used gear can occasionally be "the luck of the draw," my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. If you are looking for electronics--specifically cameras, lenses, computers, or stereos--this is a fantastic spot to find a deal. The Gear & The Deals I've purchased my fair share of photography and audio equipment here and have consistently walked away with great bargains. That said, you have to do your due diligence. I highly recommend testing any electronics as thoroughly as possible before walking out the door to ensure the value matches the asking price. Sometimes, you'll find a real gem at a great price. The Staff The team is helpful and professional. I don't know many by name (David is a standout I speak with occasionally), but I've found that if you are sincere and respectful, they are more than happy to accommodate you. Pro-Tips for Buyers: Patience is Key: If you aren't in a rush, wait for the next "price drop" to turn a good deal into a great one. Warranty: For extra peace of mind, they offer a one-week warranty. While I've never actually had to return anything, I sometimes grab it just for the security. Inspect Everything: Like any shop selling used goods, the responsibility is on the buyer to verify the condition. Final Verdict: I absolutely recommend this shop for buyers. I can't speak to the selling or pawning process, but as a frequent customer, I can say that if you're patient and polite, you'll find some incredible items here.

Most pawn stores or any reseller would offer you ~30% market value for the item. They offered me $100. This was after the bimbo told me "It's more than what I was originally going to give you - $80". Mind you this information is coming from the same degenerate who locked the key to the safe they just bought... in the safe w/o a code so truly - go anywhere else, there's plenty of pawn shops in the area. Haven't pawned anything in 15 years but the last time I did it was a set of golf clubs, bag,…read moreputters, just like today. That experience was amazing, this was just insulting. The interaction, attitude, the level of disrespect and etiquette was about as bad as it could get. I needed $400 for a small real estate deal this afternoon, not wanting to take a cash advance on a card and I thought wow, I've lived in Leander for over 10 years, driven by this store on my way to the car wash next door. Lemme see what I can get. First off, I'm extremely aware of the idea what we have is never worth as much as we think. I've traded in dozens of sets of clubs over the past 50 years, I use the PGA Retail Value trade in guide as a barometer and their book is vers valuable. It's solid. Dicks Sporting Goods, PGA Superstore, Golf Galaxy all use this very guide. And I get it, they only had 2 bags of clubs in there they wanted $60-$100 for and 1 were more than 10 years old, and 1 set was at least 20 years old. I was polite, waited patiently, wasn't expecting anything else...and he wouldn't give me more than $100 for the clubs on a loan, and I couldn't replace the bag & clubs for under $1500. Impossible. Of course, that's probably why they don't have any clubs in there because they're dismissive and rude, and it's fine because I don't need the money that bad. What this little man didn't know was I had a Tag in my pocket I would've sold for $$ he could've made nice money on but once the disrespectful tone & attitude took over that was a non-starter for me. I pawned the clubs elsewhere for $350, which all I really needed. I won't be back, I'll never forget.

Waaayyy overpriced. Many items hundreds above highest ever recorded sale and fair market value…read more Every item I looked it was at least on highest side of market. Examples they have a Martin DXME for sale for $699. They have never sold that high. They sell for $450 and below based on over 20 recorded sales. You're looking at paying $250 more than highest price ever sold. Even brand new they were $600. They have a Takamine EF261BS listed for $829. The only one ever listed for sale online was $295. Every item I looked at was priced at the highest price of market, which is their choice to price, though I don't think people go to pawn shops to pay highest price that can be found. But having items overpriced at hundreds higher than they've ever sold for is getting ripped off or taken advantage of. Use extreme caution when buying here.

Their layaway terms are VERY reasonable and I have always received a fair price and never have to worry about a return issue. I'm sorry if Halstead had a bad experience, but I can confirm that they have bullion available and on-site. The problem he had appears to be due to the fact that he thought ARCI operated more like a pawn shop. They don't. This is a much more upscale experience. Sometimes, you have to wait for product if the order is large enough. Their inventory changes hourly. They carry LOTS of rare coins that would require traveling the globe to locate. They lock the rates at the time you indicate, so I'm not sure why anybody would need to receive the product any faster than they deliver it. Finally, I want to point out that I made a spreadsheet of all of my purchases historically. ARCI has always charged me the least. For reference, EBay is the most expensive place to buy, so don't do that under any circumstances. I'm available to answer any questions, as I stated before. I like to think of ARCI as the private club version of bullion dealers, yet anybody can join for free. If you want a pawn shop, go to a pawn shop.

Robin, on top of being incredibly rude and uncaring about the order (that was apparently never placed), tells me that it's not their job to call customers to let them know status of their orders after I asked her why I was never contacted about my order. Sadly, this isn't the first time that I've received subpar customer service at this location but I can promise that it is the last. Anyone considering shopping at this location should ask themselves "will this transaction be anything more than buying something and leaving" because if you will require any kind of follow up or basic level customer service, I highly suggest finding a different location to shop at. There is another Zales about 15min away in the RoundRock outlets. There are also a few pawn shops in the area that have better customer service. Wal-Mart or Target may even be a good alternative choice than this location.
