That said, cookie never tried to sell me and instead offered to clean up own my dirty wedding rings. They are so sparkly now! Although I didn't buy anything, it was a pleasure dealing with these wonderful people - all family owned. I told cookie I'd be back when I was ready to get my daughter a nice piece of jewelry. One of the things I like about Ranch Road jewelry is they are able to do small repairs right on site. I was able to come and retrieve it the very next day. They also have some lovely jewelry in their display cases.

I read the review by Halstead and feel the need to update my review. I want to state that I gave…read more5-stars based on my experience, not my friendship with Ryan. I'm sorry if Halstead had a bad experience, but I can confirm that they have bullion available and on-site. The problem he had appears to be due to the fact that he thought ARCI operated more like a pawn shop. They don't. This is a much more upscale experience. Sometimes, you have to wait for product if the order is large enough. Their inventory changes hourly. They carry LOTS of rare coins that would require traveling the globe to locate. They lock the rates at the time you indicate, so I'm not sure why anybody would need to receive the product any faster than they deliver it. Finally, I want to point out that I made a spreadsheet of all of my purchases historically. ARCI has always charged me the least. For reference, EBay is the most expensive place to buy, so don't do that under any circumstances. I'm available to answer any questions, as I stated before. I like to think of ARCI as the private club version of bullion dealers, yet anybody can join for free. If you want a pawn shop, go to a pawn shop.

Not only that the person who gave me the quote wasn't even the person who appraised the jewelry or who was able to appraise the jewelry. Just for fun I asked the sour faced woman who was looking at the jewelry what grade of diamonds they were and she said oh I don't know that guy will tell you referring to some guy who was loudly talking on the phone. No offer to get him, no offer to help. The only offer was their joke of a offer which literally was below 1% of retail value. Absolute trash --if they didn't want the jewelry they could've just said no thank you --but it's obvious they don't even know what they're looking at. Stay away if you have anything valuable. edit to reply to the comment underneath this review: i'm sorry if this was not clear, but the biggest problem I had was not so much the low offer - I am free to take or not take that whatever the case may be. My issue was with the rudeness and seeming lack of knowledge of the person who was assessing the jewelry. I asked her a basic question which could've been answered by the knowledgeable jeweler with a loupe/magnifier and not only was the lady rude -She didn't have an answer to my question. I can't see everything that goes on in your business, but it didn't seem to me that there was any consult with you as you were speaking on the phone loud enough for me to hear that you were having a conversation. So without any other information to go on, I'm left sitting there wondering why an offer was even made in the first place and what was I even doing there? That's why I had absolutely zero confidence in the offer. I can't offer any opinions on you or how you do business as I never even met you. That's a pretty good tell-tale sign that this company will stoop to any level to make money. I had already received one offer from a store in the mall and wanted to get another for a couple of men's 14k gold wedding rings, so I stopped by the William Cannon and Manchaca "store." They might as well just get a few pieces of plywood and nail them together like a 10 year old's lemonade stand. This place made my skin crawl. The offer the guy made was $179, and that included the $20 promo they're running. WOW! That was $90 less than my other offer, which came from a high-overhead jewelry store. I was disgusted, so I put my hand out and asked for my rings back and the next words out of his mouth were "How much were you wanting for them?" Really? Gold is currency. I don't walk into a convenience store and have to negotiate with the clerk to get change for a $20, right? I understand these guys are out to make money, but to offer me 35% of actual value (I DO do my research before selling anything to know the value after-all) should be criminal. In my haste to get out of there I replied "I don't know" (what I meant was "I don't want to hear another word come out of your mouth") to which he replied "You don't know?" In a confrontational tone. I just walked out. I decided to call around to see what percentage of value other stores paid, which w easy since I knew how many grams of gold and the karat weight I had. The first call came in at 80% of actual value, or $300. My suggestion would be to get the details about your property first, by going into a reputable gold buyer, then call around to see who pays the most, before jumping in the car.

I noticed the caveat Austin Cash 4 Gold left at the bottom, wanting people to take a look at the…read morepast positive reviews that Yelp has since filtered out. It's really important to understand why Yelp does this, and why a customer should be careful when considering these reviews. When so many positive reviews share the same theme ("Oh My God, ELEVENTY ONE, thi$ place is THE BOMB, YO!"), and have reviewers who have only left one, but no more than three positive reviews for other companies (making Austin Cash 4 Gold their one and only transaction... EVER. ANYWHERE.), Yelp becomes HIGHLY suspect. There are a LOT of places, out there, where services like this can be purchased (Fiver, Ebay, etc.), where a company (say Austin Cash 4 Gold) hires someone to run a program called a bot to create hundreds of unique Yelp users (registered and everything) who'll then put a comment into a template ("Hey, just dropped by [insert store name, here] today!! Had the BEST TRANSACTION EVER!! OMG11!!1"). The person will then run the script and as many companies as the person has been contracted with will then get that exact comment. The process can be arranged differently, too, so that the person makes hundreds of unique users who comment to that one business (for example, Austin Cash 4 Gold), with a database of different (yet incredibly similar) customer messages. Yelp filters these comments out for a reason. A suspicious pattern has been spotted, and while they can't really say the user is fake (because, let's face it, they did provide a unique email address (remember there are thousands of places you can get a free email account out there... it's so easy to do) and did confirm it), but they still see the reviews are hinky. Problematic. Which is why they aren't counted. This store is really small. That they'd have 35 comments that are considered questionable enough to be stuck on that list... really raises more than a few questions in my book. Shopper be ware.
