Thank you Lihn! U guys did an amazing job
Andy V.

Long story short: actually, with quality workmanship and highly skilled crafting, there is no "long story short".. I bought a beautiful ritani ring setting, that was pre-owned online.. The reason I bought it online is because the ring itself is a discontinued setting, ritani said they could re-make the one that was discontinued but it would cost me $6000. So therefore I found one online, pre owned, and the center diamond was already removed. So being that Ritani is an extremely high end brand, I was convinced that I should only let an authorized Ritani dealer touch it. I figured they would have the best experience with the brand since they carried it in their store. The place i called was a pretty reputable place known as Russell Korman off Burnet Rd. I spoke with Chuck, the jeweler, he asked me to bring the ring in, and once he saw that I had a 1.5 ct loose diamond that i wanted installed into a setting that was meant for a 2ct setting, he said it couldn't be done. He was atleast honest enough to deny my request and tell me that it was a huge liability to touch it.. he said the only way it would work would be if u buy a 2ct diamond then the problem would be solved. Hmmmmm...yeah no thank you. A 1.5 ct is my max, and that's that. Anyways, back to the story, I took the diamond to American Blue Diamonds, along with the setting.. And Linh discussed with me tell that they would need to be extra-extra careful, and that it would take 3 days.. She said not only do they have to compress the setting to the center diamond, but they also have to tie everything in as well to protect and secure the surrounding diamonds. The setting has 6 prongs, each prong has tiny little diamonds on the prong itself, and also pebble sized diamonds in between each of those six prongs as well.. 3 days pass, and I pick up the ring. I was extremely happy with the results, Linh and her crew did an amazing job! ..so with that said, my review is not a diss towards Russell Kormans, but more like a simple Thank You. Because it led me to search elsewhere, and this review is to inform every consumer out there that wants professional, assured quality, without having to pay the mark up of a ridiculous price tag. Now, don't get me wrong, American Blue Diamonds is not the cheapest place, but they are definitely not the most expensive place either. I was happy with how I was treated, i was happy they were able to help, and I'm happy to reciprocate this review into the most wonderful experience I could have ever asked for. Thank you so much. I am eternally grateful. -A.Vega.

American Blue Diamonds made my ring look like new again!

I was looking for a place to have my wedding rings appraised for insurance purposes and came across American Blue Diamonds. I was hesitant to leave my rings anywhere overnight so the option to have the appraisal done in an hour was the perfect option. My rings were cleaned, appraised and I also received some amazing photos of my rings. Both LInh and Huy were very informative, kind and knowledgeable. My husband and I were very satisfied with their amazing service, we will definitely be back.

Not the most flattering pic of us but here we are in the store with the beautiful ring

By far the nicest person I've ever met at a jewelry store! Linh, we believe is her name, she is very genuinely friendly and helpful.

I went in with a heavy-ish 14k gold pendant I wanted melted into a ring. Brian himself talked to me…read moreabout the project and asked if the gold pendant was sentimental. No, I said, I just have it. Brian showed me a few ring styles to get an idea of what I wanted (I needed a replacement wedding band). He did a lot of pushing buttons on a calculator and let me know that I could order a ring from them and use the gold I had as credit. It would be the best deal, he said, rather than getting my gold melted down. So it wouldn't be the same gold from the pendant in the ring, but they would accept the pendant as a partial "payment." Sounds great! Brian ordered the ring for me and it arrived very quickly. The store held onto my pendant while the ring was on order and when I came to pick up, all I had to pay was the balance, which was really quite reasonable. This place was quite busy both times I went in, so I was surprised that the owner himself came out to talk to me. I would guess that he loves the custom jewelry making part of the job, because when the first person helping me heard that I was interested in melting down a piece to make something new, she grabbed Brian immediately. All of the other salespeople were occupied with selling the jewelry from in cases. Anyway, the attention I received was really quite lovely and Brian was super friendly. I'll definitely go back if I need something custom made.

On Saturday, when I was out shopping, mostly window shopping, I ran across Avant Garde Jewelers. They have some unique pieces and not the typical run of the mill jewelry pieces. I like that hey have petite pieces as well as more elaborate ones. In addition, they sell natural as well as lab created diamonds. I do not own in lab created diamonds but I do know they are growing in popularity because they test as a diamond and they have a significantly lower price point. After pleasantly chatting with Sydney for a bit, she created a two item wish list for husband. I am sure that the hubs will be rushing down to Avant Garde to fulfill my wish list. Not! He is still recovering from our 25th wedding anniversary.

To start with, I've had all my jewelry (especially some delicate chains and undersized rings) repaired at Leander Jewelry, exclusively, since I found them last spring. They have all the professional resources, tools, and equipment a reputable jeweler should have, including a machine that identifies stone and metal content for accurate valuations. I've noticed that their prices are based primarily on the metal value, with necessary markups for craftmanship and stones. So, prices are always fair, honest and transparent. And I can look up for verification on my phone in real time if I want to check for myself. Best of all, the folks who run the store are so friendly and fun. I love looking through the cases and trying on all the pieces that catch my eye. It's a family run business and they're good to their regulars. I suggest stopping in to check out the inventory for yourself, let them get to know your face, and you just might find yourself a family jeweler for life. PHOTO BELOW P.S. Please forgive the fluffs on the velvet. I probably should dust more, but this is a photo of one of the chains they repaired for me. You'll notice the chain is as thin as a hair so it was only able to be melted together/not re-linked. But they did a great job, as you can see.
