This place has an extensive menu of all the classic diner/family restaurant fare you can imagine. They have sandwiches, steaks, gyros, wraps, burgers, and that's just lunch. I've been here twice so far in the last week and has the Gyro wrap (very tasty) and the deluxe cheesesteak (needed salt). It's a diner, so definitely don't forget the pie. My wife and I were here recently for dinner. My soup was lukewarm while my wife's soup was piping hot. Salmon croquettes- nothing special. I got an omelette and hash browns- I liked it. My wife's cheesesteak omelette had no detectable cheese or flavor, for that matter. Hash browns not cooked as long as mine, so they didn't look as appealing IMO. Server not friendly- mercurial, even. This is one of my favorite breakfast spots. I go here very often with my friend who enjoys their breakfast as well. There a simple diner that has been around for decades. The staff is also very experienced, and they are welcoming and courteous and also take your order seriously. Breakfast can be a delicate dish to make. So I am also a delicate practitioner of eating breakfast. So when I order, I want my order to be correct. They do their best to make sure that my order is correct every time, the first time. Ordered the eggs Benedict and it was great! Hash Browns were nice and crispy. Our server was friendly and attentive. The place was pretty busy on a Sunday morning but we did not have to wait. Prices are really fair and on point with Diner food. I would return again if I am in the area! read more

I will be dining anywhere but the Trivet Diner from now on. We were there for breakfast today, I ordered a breakfast wrap with hashbrowns crispy. The wife ordered pancakes with bacon. The bacon never came, the hashbrowns were raw potato's with grease all over them. I told the waitress I did not get what I ordered, she said "Well the kitchen staff is overwhelmed". then walked away. We called over the Owner/Manager, and when we told him, his answer was not anything you would expect. HE SAID: "Well what do you want me to do, if I talk to the waitress or the cook they will quit. SERIOUSLY? So the CUSTOMERS, the ones PAYING THE CASH should shut up and take what they get, because he can't run or manage his Restaurant and Staff? I have a better solution, We will eat elsewhere, and tell the world how terrible people are treated. Pay attention folks. WALK OUT. I had always wanted to try this place because me and my partner love diner food. I ordered the breaded shrimp and he ordered the lasagna. Disappointment. My salad was an upside down quarter of a head of lettuce. The onions in the salad were cut in quarters the long way. I was given a packet of salad dressing. I had mashed potatoes with my meal. There were water and tasted like potato flakes. The gravy tasted like potato flakes. I wanted to go in the kitchen and teach the cook how to cook. My partner's food was just bland. It wasn't until her (clearly much needed) conversation was done that she came over our way, walked passed us and went to go and take a payment from someone who was leaving, who got up AFTER we came in. That person had to literally tell her to help us before helping him so we could be seated. We got seated then decided to leave and go to a place where we can be treated like humans. Been here 4 times for breakfast. Service is wonderful. The meals are fresh and hearty. Home fries are crisp and u can add fried onions for about 30 cents. The coffee is great and they always keep u full. Don't pass it up due to low stars on the overall rating. I can only speak for the breakfast, and it's terrific. I think I've always been the youngest person in here at 8:00, and I'm 40. Mushroom and cheese omelette was great. Scrapple great. Creamer chipped beef (SOS) great. First time trying this place and while the atmosphere and food met expectations, the server did not and was extremely rude. We were unable to really stop and take notice of the specials board as we walked in--we have two kids and I was more concerned about getting them to our table. When Heather came to take our drink orders, I asked her if she could run over the specials for us. Shockingly, she replied with a firm "no". She said the items listed on the board we're on the regular menu anyway and then walked away. My husband and I looked at each other in complete amazement. Never in my life have I received such a rude response to a simple question. I got up from the table and snapped a picture of the specials so that my husband and I could take a look without being in the way of the busy hallway. Were the items listed on the menu? Nope. The muffin was not toasted...the canadian bacon was stingy if it was even canadian bacon and there was hardly any hollandaise sauce on it. This is one of my favorite diners in the Lehigh Valley and trust me we have a lot. It has all the typical diner fair in addition to Pennsylvania Dutch food such as Scrapple. The food is good, cheap, and the portions are huge. Breakfast is the highlight of the place and the home fries are amazing. The service is average and the food comes out quick. I can tell you that my husband and I used to come in here almost every day however, got tired of the hostess Reagan. She is totally unprofessional and walks around talking crap to the customers. She also treats the waitresses with no respect, is she their boss? Says things in front of customers that should be said in private. Now we are lucky we come in once a week. When people go out for breakfast they shouldn't have to hear so much drama. Also prices are out of control, we can go to the palace for more food and way less money. read more

We pass the Trivet every day and finally decided to take our children there for dinner this evening. We won't do that again. Despite the restaurant being only 1/4 full, service was exceptionally slow. The meat on my taco salad was so heavily salted it was tough to get down. Lastly, the restaurant was freezing. A number of older customers were trying to bundle up with cardigans and our kids asked to go home. There is no reason a sit down restaurant needs to be kept at meat-locker temperature. read more

Awful service. I was not brought my tea. I was given attitude. I was brought my check immediately before I had a chance to order addition items. I purchased the additional meals down the road at another diner. This was not the cute shitty diner service. This was just bad service. The food was the low standard of diners. My favorite diner in the Emmaus/Macungie area. I've probably eaten there a dozen times and never had anything bad. Prices are very reasonable and portions are huge. Breakfast is always hot and fresh. The service is phenomenal, very hospitable, quick, on the ball and always there to refill your coffee. One of the few places that can actually cook an over medium egg (tougher than it looks). This is now on our list of places to not go back too. Our waitress was wonderful, the food, not so much. We did go on a holiday so maybe the regular cook was off. Veal parm & spaghetti was barely eatable. Cheap tasting Veal, and spaghetti sauce was way too sweet. The salads were nice. Don't even bother with the chicken croquettes, it was the worst one I ever had! The restaurant had mold on the ceiling, both in the dining room and the bathroom, overall the place didn't look clean. My family and I have been eating here for many years. Most of those years because of no competition. Now the game has changed and there's another diner in town with better food and service. Breakfast and lunch is their specialty although it's basic no frills diner food. They've recently attempted to do a quick makeover at the Trivet but they should of saved the money. What they need is new cooks and waitresses in this place. Each waitress thinks they own the place and customers come 2nd! Loyalty is one thing but competition, better food and service is another. While yes I was expecting diner food, they could use better quality meat products. Felt as though my burger was made from the scraps that fell off after they make the good hamburgers. It's just a cheap frozen patty like others have said. Also missing a side and the waitress didn't notice. The kids menu is a joke. Since I didn't want soda or milk for my toddler they offered no substitute (water) and wasn't offered the pudding or jello that supposedly comes with it. Won't be back. read more
