Do not use Triple S in Bloomfield, NJ for repairs. My repair took over nine weeks!!! I warn you to avoid them.
I carried in my Crown Macro-Tech power amp for a repair covered under warranty because they are one of the few factory authorized repair shops in my area. I supplied, in writing, a complete description of the unusual problem and how to reliably re-create it, and I even offered to demonstrate the malfunction within 60 seconds guaranteed within their presence. The guy who took my information described their repair techs as gods and assured me none of this is necessary as they can find any problem.
Four weeks later, I heard nothing and I called for an update. Their "customer service rep" (a misnomer if there ever were) told me they could not find the problem. They investigated by their own manner and again described their techs as gods, they neglected to follow my descriptions, and was incredulous when I insisted they were looking in the wrong place for the problem. I insisted they follow my diagnostic procedure because I will not pay for their bench time by claiming no fault found under a warranty repair. The following day, I called back, and lo and behold, he said they verified the malfunction and will proceed to repair it, four weeks since I dropped it off! They refused to offer an estimated time of completion.
Over three more weeks pass and I still heard nothing from Triple S. I called and they claimed Crown shipped them the wrong parts and I must wait more time. Again, they refused to offer an estimated time of completion. I didn't believe them. I personally called Crown Audio parts department and explained the situation. The rep from Crown Audio was actually aware of the recent request for parts by Triple S for my specific amp. On the spot, she offered to ship the parts next-day air to Triple S as a courtesy to me and she kindly informed me that the Crown Factory Repair Center currently has a turn-around time of five days, should I require further repairs.
I immediately called Triple S back to notify them they can expect the parts by the next business day. I requested an estimated completion date. He told me maybe two weeks, but refused to commit.
Two weeks later, I received a call that my power amp is repaired and ready for pick up. No charges. It's been working, so far.
It took over nine weeks total. Do you too want this kind of service, where you may be required to perform some of their job tasks for them should you be dissatisfied with results?
I will never again go there.
And by the way, their show room floor of stuff for sale was dingy and completely underwhelming. They had almost no selection and nearly everything was used. I'm just saying it like it is, irrespective of their repair shop. I do not understand how they stay in business.
I suggest that you do not believe their self-inflating hype on their web pages either. read more
