Best...waxing...ever... Desiree is awesome, very fast and professional. Of course a bikini wax / brazillian is going to hurt, but due to the specialized waxes they use the pain is as minimal as it can be. Honestly, plucking hurts worse to me, I'd rather just get it ripped out quickly. And it gets less and less painful the more you have it done. I also recommend the after-care solution in the blue bottle (forget the name). Basically it is rubbing alcohol and asprin, but easier to use pre-made. And it is the only thing that prevents those annoying red bumps. One really nice thing about Trim is that they don't try to "upsell" at all unlike most personal services places. First off, I made an appointment too soon after my flight landed from vacation and I was 45 minutes late and they were cool about talking me even though I was so late. I had my eyebrows and upper lip done here today. It was awesome. They did a great job. Since moving to Chicago I've had...OK eyebrow waxes (but nothing as good as the lady back home who knew my brows). Anyway, today I found it! I'm going to Beth at Trim from now on. After the consultation and suggesting I grow my brows out some, she waxed and shaped me. She was quick and thorough. After the waxing, she filled in my brows. I just moved up to Chicago from Champaign and decided to try Trim out for my waxing per some recommendations I read on here. I've had my waxing done at a few places back home but nothing compared to this. First of all, the pain was as minimal as I can possibly imagine any waxing experience ever being. Of course, pulling hair out of your crotch is never going to feel like skipping through daisies, but Beth, my waxer, kept on talking and it was over before I knew it. I also asked her a question about a particularly stubborn ingrown hair (I don't care if you don't want to hear about it, I'm going to talk about it!) and she gave me a free sample of something she thought I should try out for the particularly nasty ones. The price was surprisingly reasonable ($25 for regular bikini wax), the place was very clean with a nice, trendy feel. They offered water or tea while I was waiting and had lots of cute little things for sale. I've already made my second appointment. read more

If you'd asked me even two years ago if I'd ever get a bikini wax, I would have laughed at you and said, emphatically, "No!" Waxing seemed silly, a waste of money, and, well, painful. I don't like to knock things I haven't tried (save, uh, hard drugs and murder) AND I'd read some stellar reviews on Yelp, so I gave it a go. Fiona, my amiable waxer, made me feel very comfortable and as if an underarm and bikini wax were two of the most normal things a person can do. I was amazed--amazed, I tell you!--at how much the waxing process did NOT hurt. Plus, the cost of the waxing wasn't too ridiculous ($20/underarm, $25/bikini). I've been back twice now and have had different aestheticians each time--Fiona, sadly, wasn't there--and have had decent experiences. I plan to return again. I've left off a star because their after-waxing products are a bit too pricey for my liking. It'd be nice if they offered some cheaper alternatives. read more

I made a same day appointment to get my hooha waxed on Friday afternoon. I almost missed my appointment because of the weird streets over there, but I made it! And it was soooo worth it. They had me fill out a short queston/answer form and then Marta was ready for me. Once we got down too it, the actual waxing only took her about 20 minutes, and she made me feel awesome, even though my lady parts were on display while she was searching for; and destroying the enemy. Hair. What I came in with was pretty short, so there were some missed hairs- but she got out tweezers and got as many as she could! I was impressed. She was amazing. I have been going here for about 3 years now, but will no longer be a customer. The customer service quality has been steadily decreasing over the past few months and it is no longer worth the hassle. It is difficult to make an appointment when no one answers the phone or you are placed on hold for incredibly long amounts of time, and it is especially frustrating when you book an appointment only to show up and be told that they do not have it on their schedule. The receptionist was unhelpful when offering solutions and did not apologize once for the mistake. I have tried to reach both the manager and esthetician (who I do truly enjoy seeing) but have received no response from either one. read more

I came in for a Brazilian wax last week with Selina and the service was impeccable! She made me feel very comfortable and was very skilled so the pain was kept to a minimum. I also brought in my sister to get her eyebrows done and they were able to fit her in at the last minute (and her brows were perfect). I found about this place totally on a fluke. I was out to breakfast and at the register i noticed a brochure for Trim and i had been talking about going in somewhere and getting a brazilian before i went on vacation, i'd just needed to find somewhere inexpensive to go. I'd never had a brazilian done and was a bit nervous about the process, but my waxer, Karen, was amazing. She talked me through everything as it was happening and she didn't bullshit me. I have been to about 5 salons (every time I move I have to find a new one!) and I've been really impressed by Trim. I had left another Chicago salon due to a traumatic experience (I can definitely handle pain but this was unbearable) so I tried Trim. The website is fun and sexy, the atmosphere of the store is funky and fun, the staff is nice and knowledgeable, and I really felt relaxed. They carry other products like lingerie, bikini line products, jewelry, purses, everything. The books out on the table are fun to look through too while you're waiting. I always called about a week before I needed an appointment and was always able to get the appointment time I wanted. When was able to come in early, I'd call and see if I could move the appointment up and generally they would do that for me. My aesthetician was great. The first time I went to her, she did everything a little slower but every subsequent time, it was like I'd been going there for a long time. She did a great job on the Brazilian wax as well, and we created a great friendship over the months that I went there. The last time I went, my girl had left for maternity leave so I just took whoever was available, and she was great as well. I was a little nervous going to someone new, but we hit it off immediately and had a great conversation the whole time. I would definitely recommend it, and have!! read more

Took a waxing virgin here to introduce her to the wonderful world of tidyness. I'm kinda writing this on her behalf since she doesn't have a yelp account but the experience included both of us including her extra long session. I got the custom option, which basically turned into a brazilian with a patch on the front. Desiree used both hard wax and strips. That girl has got some serious waxing prowess! If someone is gonna be placing, applying, applicating, smearing, removing, yanking wax/strips off down there I definitely want someone who is assertive, confident, knowledgeable and efficient. (How did this review somehow turn into a personal ad?) Flawless performance on her part. Friend got a basic bikini. I was scheduled for 30min since custom is a little more complex and I went into my room first. Friend was scheduled for 15min for the basic. I know she went in after me, but she came out at least 15min after me. She LOVED her girl. Didn't catch her name, but she must have taken her time and re-assured friend over and over since it took quite a bit of time. This same friend was basically having a panic attack before her appt. I wished at that point that I brought her some good legal drugs. Long story short, don't bother going anywhere else. Ask for Desiree if you want an awesome custom. Bring the newbies here and they will be taken care of. Prices are reasonable and service is excellent. Open til 10pm? Insanity in the best way! Exceptionally nice staff :) Not one complaint at all. So here I am in Pilsen and in need of an emergency Brazilian wax. Where do I go? I drove up and down Halsted and Wicker Park and couldn't find a place to take a walk in. My journey stopped at Trim in Lincoln Park. I had no problem finding parking because that part of Lincoln Avenue usually has ample parking (in my experience). I'm really not good at making conversation with hair dressers, manicurists, etc, but Fiona was actually able to engage me in conversation -with my pants off, no less! She was super easy to talk to, which was also distracting, and she worked quickly. It wasn't painless, don't let anyone fool you into thinking that a Brazillian will be painless. But it was fast, and she did a good (thorough) job. I got a leg wax once before a big vacation, and again a month later, but the results weren't worth the few weeks that I had to give up shaving. I absolutely love this place! I was first introduced by Yelp actually; with a check-in you get 50% off on the first Brazilian. The inside of Trim is welcoming and clean, located in the heart of Lincoln Park. As far as the wax goes, I have had about 60+ waxes in my life and this was very minimal on pain. After completed, other than a few stragglers, the hair was about 96% gone. After I was done, my boyfriend wanted to get his nose hairs done (which was hysterical), but they obliged without a blink. I've gone to Trim on and off for about two years now. I've tried a few other waxing places throughout the state of Illinois (I went to college in Champaign, IL and I'm from the southwest suburbs). Tricia no longer works full time at the Lincoln Park salon, but she is my favorite. I must admit, I just started the brazilian wax about a year or a year 1/2 ago and have only been to Trim. Tricia is professional, nice, fast, and does the best job on brazilians! She doesn't use hard wax (which I prefer), and never leaves a hair! I also have to recommend Danielle. She does a wonderful job as well! I must say I had a much better experience at the Lincoln Park salon. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because it is pretty expensive ($60 for a brazilian). I was searching yelp for a new waxing service, lo and behold, Trim. I used to go to the Benefit Boutique on Southport, but after two unsatisfied visits I needed a new place. I called them around 2pm on a Thursday and was able to book an appointment for the same day at 4pm. I arrived 30 minutes early to two very pleasant women at the front desk. They offered me some tea or water while I filled out my new customer forms. I was in the private waxing room with Desiree by 3:40 and out before 4pm. I highly recommend Desiree! Friendly, quick, and informative. This is also by far the best wax I have ever received. It's no cake walk, but she made the whole experience less awkward with her effectively distracting small talk. When I got home I notices some redness to my face and within a day, I saw I had actually been burned! Both sides of my face were covered with blisters for my engagement party.
