If you're a rabbit owner, you need to come here to get your rabbit's hay! I've been coming here for the past 3 1/2 years and always get the Timothy hay. They have other types of hay too. The customer service here is also amazing. You can be lost or know exactly what you want and they will help you with everything including bringing your heavy quantity items outside to your car. I love the small sacked mixed feed and grain that I use for my custom layer mix for my quail. Chris-Ann is amazing and is an expert in animal nutrition and has always had an answer for me! Eppie is always very courteous and quick with your order and handles the bags with care and that really helps with keeping the dust low in the bags. The owner Melissa is just as helpful and is always happy to special order whatever item I need and I love supporting small businesses ran by local families! She had recently expanded the line of western/ladies wear the carry into one side of the store and I love the boutique feel it gives the store. Usually you wouldn't go into a Horse store to buy something for cats. What can I say, After helping a stray cat have her kittens and before I was able to give them to proper homes, I had to let them grow a little. Did you know that those suckers crap like crazy? Do you realize that kitty liter is really freak'n expensive? Well, here's a little secret. Feline Pine is the same shit that horses lay on. Only with horses they sell it in 50 pound bags, given that they're huge animals. So instead of spending $7 on 7lbs of this stuff, you can come here and buy it under the name of Horse pellets for $9 for 50lbs of it. You do the math, my friends. Straight from the horses mouth... er.. bum.. to your cat litter box. Cause really, kittens, for all that they're cute.. can produce a smell that is beyond gross. And since my review is for misusing the products they sell here, I'll get on with praising them for taking the bag out to the car. I guess they saw me as a city slicker and figured I couldn't take it out to the car myself. Hell, it was waiting for me at my car before I even finished paying for it. Great customer service. Their horse section also looked pretty good and were really helpful. Only problem is that I had no use for this place anymore. Maybe if you have horse needs or just want to pick up some inexpensive S&M gear that was meant to be used on a horse.. Hell, this whole review is awful. Almost didn't want to write this review, but in the immortal words of Yelp, sharing is caring, and I'm a lover, not a stingy harbourer of helpful hints...so if you love the World's Best Cat Litter brand, then come here and get it. Now don't make me do math, all I know is you get double the size you would get at, say, Target, for half the price (I think I paid around ten bucks). The nice guy will even do all the lifting and carry it to your car. This is the best discovery since Netflix. Just like I stuck it to cable, I can now stick it to the cat litter industry! This place offers hay for rabbits/horses at such an inexpensive price, that it is almost as if they are giving away the hay for free. It is located in the city, but not in a crowded area, plus it is right next to some horses stables, and so it really is a charming place. Service, too is normally very friendly and helpful. Having said that, there is one person there who is just such a rude person. He is the one who puts together the bales of hay for people. Sometimes, he does not even bother loading the bales of hay into my car. Far worse, is how has not only interrupted me when I was talking to people there or was just about to pet their neglected dog, but is just so rude and so impatient about it. He acts as if he is my boss, when it is me whose money enables him to make a living. He needs to learn how to treat people better. And so it is because of him that I give this place four stars instead of five. read more

I live about 35-40 minutes away with good traffic, but I'm here every 2 weeks for my flake of Timothy for my rabbits. They're crazy about this quality hay. Over 2 years I only had one or two incidents when I would see a young boy on the weekend getting me a tiny bag of fallen hay scraps instead of my usual hay causing me to come back in a few days rather than the full 2 weeks. Also he made my boyfriend bag the hay himself in the barn when we complained. For that period of time I tried the place down the street and while slightly cheaper the quality was just way off. I avoid coming here on the weekends now. Otherwise I really like this place. read more

I don't know anything about horses but she was kind, polite and helpful. The lady in the back who was doing the laundry was kind and showed me in to the dog food section. If you're living with a small flock of chickens or pigeons, and looking for small bags of seed, treats, pellets, crumble, grit, kelp, mealworms, scratch, whatever, so you don't have to deal with 25lb bags of feed, they have it! And after three weeks I was running low so I found this place on yelp. I'm so happy I did! They had a great selection of food organic non-GMO and she knows what she's talking about when it comes to chickens. She told us what to buy and what to avoid because her chickens are so young still. Came by for rabbit supplies since I was pretty sick of getting ripped off at Petco for low quality product. The hefty sized bags of timothy/alfalfa cubes, oat groats and premium pellets both large and small were very reasonably priced at 2.99 a bag so I was very excited about that. We also drove off with a large bag of timothy hay for only 7 bucks, which smelled incredibly fresh. Definitely the type of stuff my rabbit goes crazy for. The customer service was also excellent. Very friendly, knowledgeable person at the checkout counter who didn't just ring us up but was personable too.--same said for the young man that brought out our timothy hay, who wished us a happy new year. My go to place for Hay. I also have two bunnies and only buy from here. When I first got them I also checked out Da Moors and nothing against them I just felt more comfortable here. I'm Asian and have never experienced any racism here. The older lady is kind of slow and not very friendly, but I wouldn't quite categorize her as rude. The blond younger girl is really friendly and outgoing. They are both very knowledgeable about any questions I used to ask them; pertaining to Hay and litter. Usually the same guy brings the Hay out for me and litter and is also quite nice. The litter is heavy and he has always lifted it into my car for me, I will probably give him a tip when I go in for the holiday season now. I bought an item from the store and removed the tags so that my leather guy could dye it. After telling me that the leather was treated, so it could not be dyed, I tried to return the item, only to be told that because I didn't have the tags, it was non-returnable. Meanwhile, there is another item in the store exactly like it, so I think they could have put their own tags on it and it would have been fine. I was not asking for my money back, only a store credit, which was refused. I left the item there as opposed to throwing it in the trash, as it is no good to me if it can't be dyed. And the owner will probably put tags on it and resell it. I will never set foot in that store again. I am a local, I live in the Rancho and am an equestrian. So I purchased a flake of Timothy hay and found a big piece of dried manure in it (the size of my fist). I called to let them know and the lady said it's not unheard of and said to me ,"I don't really know what else you want me to say." How about "I'm sorry" or something to that effect. I'm explaining to her that this is the first time I've experienced this so I I wanted to make sure it was safe for my bunnies. They have spray millet by the box and Calcium shell that my finches eat like popcorn. Their cat and dog food is priced well. They are helpful, they are friendly, they give you coupons when you spend a bunch of money there, and they carry it to the car. So I asked a friend to get me a bale of Timothy hay for my foster rabbits. She goes to Trikee Tack instead of the normal feed barn. Well never again! It has been 10 days and the bale is gone! It was light and full of dust and I'm livid! These are rescued medically needs foster rabbits I am feeding and I have never gone through a full bale in 10 days from the other feed Barn. I'm posting pictures of the first and the fifth (last) bag to show all the dust, way too much dust and only two flakes per bag. I'm also spreading the word to another 300 local Rescue volunteers and adopters to not go here! I'd rather order a 50 lb box directly from Oxbow if I'm going to get this much dust and get a light "bale". I knew it was off when it didn't fill my normal storage boxes. Should have just taken it back then but being disabled and not being able to drive makes that an issue as Uber would have cost me more than buying another bale elsewhere. read more

My rabbit loves the Timothy hay from here. You can get a large bag for $7 plus tax - so much cheaper than Petsmart and much higher quality. I love coming here to get hay for my bunny! I know for sure they have Timothy hay, Oat hay, and Orchard grass but they probably have alfalfa too. One flake is about $7-8 and come packaged in a clear plastic bag. The bags aren't labeled but if you need to ask the cashier any questions, they are always extremely helpful and kind. I can't say I've had the chance to browse the inside of the store, but it appears very clean and organized. read more

Just recently found this place when we became the owners of 2 bunnies. They have a good selection of hay and it's sold in "flakes". They also have pellets for the bedding and are quite knowledgeable about a bunny's needs. As others have mentioned, if you're getting your hay from a pet store, stop. Get it here. This place rips off their customers. I will be buying my hay somewhere else. They currently charge the customers at LAEC a monthly $50 fee to feed the horses and they must feed hundreds a day - it is a very profitable enterprise. Then recently they alerted customers who have their credit cards with the store - that they have increased the price of hay - so I test it out, call the store and ask what the price of a bale is - well THEY GAVE ME THE SAME PRICE AS IT HAS BEEN - so there is no price increase actually going on, they just want to pocket even more money. Then they send out a letter stating quote "Due to the fluctuating prices which may continue to increase...this notice will serve for all future increases as well" - basically telling their customers that they can raise the price whenever they like, for however much they like - AND NOT HAVE TO TELL THE PEOPLE THEY ARE CHARGING. I am not sure this is even legal! I am going to the California Consumer Protection Agency on this one. A few years ago this was a nice place - but success makes some companies greedy...which is always the beginning of downward cycle. Will be taking my business elsewhere. read more
