The nicest barista ever giving Cali her pup cup
Eliko S.

My pittie, Cali, and I popped into this adorable coffee spot on Friday afternoon. I'd just gotten some gelato down the street & Cali was feeling a little left out of treat time, so we were in search of a pup cup! We bopped into Trident Coffee which is one of the cutest coffee shops I've ever seen! Cool nautical looking light fixtures, an Octopus mascot keeping watch over the place & lots of interesting coffee, tea & nibbles options. There are a few chairs inside & few tables/chairs outside as well. The kindest barista ever was so excited to see us, especially Cali, and he made us feel so welcome. He kindly offered her a pup cup and he delightedly gave it to her. Cali loved every aspect of this interaction & I really appreciated how nice he was to my pup. This interaction really warmed my heart so much and I will definitely stop by again the next time I'm in Coronado! Mahalo!

Acai bowl

Acai was delicious and at a great price, didn't have strawberries and bananas like usual but did have goji berries and peanut butter. Cute cafe to pick up donuts and cold brew. Seating inside and outside with kind service.

My friend wanted to go for a birthday run in Coronado. I wanted coffee right after the run which was something I looked forward to as I pushed myself to finish the run LOL. I found this shop with a variety of cold brew options which also included nitro cold brews on the tap! As a coffee drinker, I definitely had to check it out. The location that we went to is located next to some local shops on Orange Ave in "downtown" Coronado. There's a lot of free street parking around the area but could get very hectic and almost impossible to find during holiday season, dinner hours, and weekends. My boyfriend and I wanted to try their cold brew flight, however, they only had 2 sets for the flights which was already taken by another couple. Whaaat sad. Instead, I got their New Orleans Cold Foam, one of the cold brews, annnnd it was kind of sour. It was kind of confusing, giving sweetish taste but with the sourness kept overcoming the coffee bitterness that I was looking for. I personally don't like sour cold brews but that's my own preference. Some people might enjoy them sour, but I don't think they should be sour... However, my friend and boyfriend both liked it though. My boyfriend got their Mexican Mocha, not sweet at all surprisingly! It was quite good, and the aesthetics of the drink were beautiful! Definitely a lot better than the one I got. I was bummed that I couldn't try their cold brew flight but after trying the New Orleans Cold Foam, I was a bit glad that we didn't. Maybe it was a one off day where their cold brew was steeping too long... I definitely will give it another go in the future to try their flight in the future though.

Trident cold brew and Turmeric Latte

I got the trident cold brew with oat milk and my bf got the turmeric latte with oat milk. Usually i am a fan of sweeter milky coffee drinks but i was pleasantly surprised with my cold brew drink! It was very smooth and didn't taste bitter at all. Normally I add sweetness to my drinks but the cold brew was super refreshing on its own without any sweetness. The turmeric latte was sweet and had a cinnamon taste and my bf loved it as well. Would love to come back the next time I am visiting Coronado!!

I'm a cold brew kind of guy. Trident is a big W for me because they offer several varieties of cold brew, fancied up versions with added flavors and sweeteners and even cold brew flights. Swoooooon. Quaint little shop right in the thick of it on Orange Ave in Coronado. Close to the beach, tons of people watching and very walkable. Clean establishment and friendly service.

Pretty yummy coffee shop! It's very convenient to the beach and many options to choose from especially functional mushrooms. I went around lunch time and the staff wasn't all that attentive and wasn't super open to making recommendations possibly due to the time of day. Coffee itself was just the right around of sweet and not bitter. There wasn't much seating inside but outside there were a few tables available. A good grab and go spot!

Coffee pt. 2 today!!! Ordered an iced matcha latte with oat milk and honey! Austin ordered the midnight Vietnamese coffee! Super yummy! The color of this coffee was dark. See attachment down below! Overall 5/5

One of a few coffee shops along busy Orange Ave but caught my eye when I was in the area. The space itself is small but there's both indoor and outdoor seating. Really dig the sea theme throughout. Staff were attentive and willing to offer suggestions based on dietary needs. Appreciate that they offer not only dairy free, caffeine free, and low acid options. Had a nice little chat with barista Cynthia about other local shops that offer similar options. Got the Cognitive Mushrooms functional latte with oat milk. Hope to come back when I'm in Coronado again.

Adrian and Ana were fantastic!!! We did a quick coffee shop pickup during our San Diego trip. I had the Midnight Vietnam's Functional Latte. And yes, it made me function more for real! I like how balanced the taste was, 10/10 would recommend

The staff are extremely friendly! Service is slower but to be expected. It's a small shop. Extremely small footprint for the amount of people trying to be served. (Not their fault). The coffee is wonderful! Taste is on point! Burrito is wonderful! Great portion. Gluten free tortilla was good and crispy on one side. Sauce served with was really yummy! :)

quick service, yummy matcha protein donut and my vietnamese coffee was decent. i know this is not traditional vietnamese so this only comes with 2 shots and more of an iced latte. next time I would get something else. my boyfriends nitro was kind of light (taste wise and looks wise) and it was the one they recommended too. still gonna give them 5 stars because I think this is the only solid coffee choice in Coronado and if I were in the area I would come back to try something different.

I stopped by Trident Coffee, a maritime themed cafe and was planning to grab my usual chai latte-- then I spotted an horchata latte with oat milk on the menu. No hesitation. I had to try it. Adrian greeted me with a burst of energy and took my order like he genuinely wanted me to have a great day. Anna crafted the drink, and wow--she nailed it. Smooth, creamy, and just the right balance of horchata sweetness and cinnamon warmth. If you're at Trident, skip the usual and go for the horchata latte. It's worth it.

Happy find!! Originally the hubby and I wanted to try a restaurant down the street. However, they…read moreswitched to reservations only for the day. So we looked up nearby restaurants and found The Henry. So glad we did. Our first time here and it won't be our last.... The hostess was very kind and welcoming. She took our name down right away. We waited under 10 minutes to be seated. We opted to sit inside. Very nice vibe. Our waiter Enrique was AMAZING. Super attentive and a true asset to this restaurant. Our food came out quickly. Everything was so flavorful. You could really taste the quality. The hubby even got a tea to go. TOP NOTCH!! I ordered the following below: *Korean Prime Skirt Steak: 5/5 - I asked for my skirt steak medium rare and man was it cooked so well. Underneath was fried rice, bok choy, veggies and a nice creamy Korean sauce . The sauce really complimented the steak and fried rice really well. I was very pleased on how the steak was juicy and tender ! *Braised Short Rib: 2/5 - Don't get me wrong i love me some good braised short ribs, however, these were very disappointing. Most of the meat was covered by fat, the portion size was insanely small considering its an entree. Not much veggies or sides to compliment this meal very well, definitely need to redo this dish. *Pressed Yellowtail Sushi: 5/5 - Honestly the yellowtail was so fresh ! It had a hint of spiciness but also a hint of sweetness. The sushi was very fresh and almost tasted like a ceviche mix. *Parmesan Truffle Fries: 3/5 - Your average truffle fries. Nothing fancy about them. I really wish they were crispier. The ambiance was very nice and welcoming. You are introduced to basically nice oak wood tables everywhere. The booth we sat in was pretty comfy. The service was exceptional. It is nice to know you are getting some quality dishes, others need some refinement.

The food is good I guess. The wagyu taco had a nice flavor and the greens with the sauce made it work. I don't think it's actually wagyu, but the word is pretty much meaningless at this point. For the crust, I found it to be way too chewy rather than light and flaky. I couldn't even cut it with my spoon anymore and had to pick up a long thing of crust and pull it apart with my teeth. I will allow that the gravy and other contents are bland and generic since if it had as much flavor as I actually want, other customers will be complaining about it. But the crust I cannot forgive. Overall it was not bad though. Surprisingly, my favorite item was the brussels sprouts. Even with all the seasoning and cheese, I found the flavor to be well balanced. Even after most of the plate, I noticed I didn't find it too salty. I really like the menus in the crappy brown folders. I think they might've also done it because it's easy and cheap, but it works well with the aesthetic they have.

Unfortunately, our most recent visit was one of the strangest and most disappointing restaurant experiences we have had in a long time. We brought a guest visiting from out of town and were honestly embarrassed by how poor the experience was from start to finish. The restaurant was only about one quarter full on a weekday evening, yet service was shockingly slow and disorganized. It started with our server fumbling through reservation lists trying to find our name, then acting annoyed when we ordered specific cocktails. At one point, he even asked if we were "old enough to drink," which came off as rude and bizarre. The first round of drinks took around 20 minutes and arrived poorly made. We then waited another 40 minutes just to place entree orders, despite barely seeing our server after appetizers arrived. Ordering a second round somehow went even worse. The server rolled his eyes, made annoyed noises, and acted inconvenienced that we were ordering more drinks at a restaurant charging premium prices. One drink, a dirty martini, took about 30 minutes and arrived with a greasy film on top from bleu cheese olives sitting in it far too long. We asked for a manager, who apologized but then asked whether we wanted sweet or dry vermouth in a dirty martini, which did not inspire much confidence. The remake came back not dirty at all and had to be remade again. After nearly two hours, our entrees finally arrived. The plates were dropped on the table without a word. The chicken and fish were passable, but the sides were awful. Cold, lifeless, and completely forgettable. The broccolini was especially bad. We complained again, and the manager offered to comp the bill. Even then, it took another long wait just to close out. I eventually handed the server $100 cash because we simply wanted to leave and still tip something despite the experience. He then shoved the check open in my face and said, "There's your bill." What made this so disappointing is that we used to love this place. It was somewhere we proudly brought visitors. Instead, we left apologizing to our guest for how uncomfortable and confusing the entire night was. We do not care about free food or comps. We care about receiving a decent dining experience at a restaurant charging $30 cocktails and premium entree prices. Serea has declined dramatically, and management needs to take a hard look at both service standards and overall execution. Do better.
