This place was amazing. So many different drink options ranging from iced vietnamese coffees, hazelnut lattes, and the barista was soooo friendly. Great spot.

As a true caffeine enthusiast (and new to SD) I've been on hunt for my "go to spot" and nothing truly met those needs, until I stumbled across mudbar Look no further! Jen & her team are truly amazing. The coffee is phenomenal and the staff is always so warm and inviting Starting everyday off with a smile Look no further than mudbar cafe. I can assure you you'll be hooked as well

Iced Espresso, 4 shots with a pack of powder cream. Great simple cup for the summer.

Feels like a NY type coffee stand with city car noises passing by, left and right. This place is a gem and the taste here is quite unique to be honest, in a good way. Bought a simple custom iced quad espresso and taste is right on point. Bitter but not too much. Used the right type or mix of beans. Could drink it black but decided to add some creamer packets. Owner is sweet and has a great personality. Bless this place and wish this place thrives to year comes

What an awesome local coffee spot Downtown! I came here at the recommendation of someone who works in the area and was so impressed by this little coffee stand. It's more of a kiosk than coffee shop that sits right off the sidewalk and has some seating options around it. There was one woman working while I was there and she was SUPER efficient despite it being busy. I had a larger order for a couple coworkers and had all my drinks in a matter of minutes. The coffee is SO good and they have some fun drink items too. I ordered the Iced Dirty Chai with Pumpkin Cold Foam but will have to return to try their specialty Vietnamese Iced Coffee and Spiced Brown Sugar Mocha. Aside from the drinks being great, what really stood out to me was the service. Beyond being quick, the woman working was so personable and cleary has a roster of regulars. She greeted multiple people by name while I was there and knew their regular drink orders. Definitely recommend stopping by if you're downtown.

I stopped by for a coffee on morning. This is run by a friendky mom/pop duo, and they seem to get a lot of regulars here! While waiting I noticed that they recognize a ton of the customers coming up. I like that they post daily horoscopes as well.

Started my morning off right at mud bar! It was my first time here and I didn't expect a curbside coffee cart. The service was excellent and the baristas were very friendly. I visited at around 9am on a Tuesday morning and it was already pretty busy. Today I tried a drink special - a large iced Vietnamese with cold cream. This drink is STRONG and espresso foreword. I wish the condensed milk was stirred in a bit more with the espresso but it was still pretty good with the cold cream and touch of cinnamon on top. After waiting only 2 minutes, I got my drink and enjoyed it in the shaded patio. I recommend coming with a friend on a weekday morning and enjoying a walk around Little Italy or the harbor. I'll definitely come again and try another drink and maybe a pastry. I highly recommend!

Cute little local popup shop is run by a lovely couple who seems to be loved by the regulars who stop by to chat even if they aren't having a coffee. Even a golden retriever popped his fluffy paws on the counter to wait for a treat as his party took him on his morning stroll. I tried their seasonal raspberry white chocolate mocha today with only a single pump of syrup as I prefer my drinks less sweet. If you've ever tried a raspberry filled chocolate from one of those assorted boxes of chocolates and liked it, you'll love this. I also had this apple cinnamon pull apart pastry. It wasn't too sweet and had just the right amount of cinnamon.

    Vietnamese special

I come down to San Diego for work once a month and I make sure I stop here for my coffee. The owners are so welcoming and always have a smile on their face! The Vietnamese special is my favorite and I love their seasonal coffee menu

I went by Mudbar on a Monday morning- it was easy to find and was not what I expected. It was a simple curbside coffee cart with a little bit of covered and uncovered seating. They were BUSY! But even with the amount of people ordering we still had our drinks in less then 5 minutes! Service was great and they were so friendly to everyone who came to order! I ordered a vanilla cinnamon latte and it was great! The coffee really tasted good, lots of flavor and the latte wasn't too sweet. They do have some pastries to buy if you wanted a little to-go snack! There is a lot of coffee in the area but I would add this one to your list of places to check out if you can!

Yelped coffee places and found The Mudbar. They didn't have what I stopped by for, apparently the menu I found on Yelp was old. The owner was nice to make me an ice latte that was one of her popular sellers. Delicious, it didn't even last. The lady and gentleman was nice to have a conversation with us. Definitely a plus for coffee!!

Excellent fancy coffee on a lovely morning! Kind service, and a quick stop on my way to the train for a meeting. 10/10 would recommend trying this if you're in the area! I saw far too many people with conglomerate coffee. Put the mermaid down and try local. It's better, I promise.

This is hands down, the best cup of coffee I've had in the area. No long waits, no hype, just passionately crafted coffee by the owner at a small stand with outdoor and half covered seating. It's just different when the business owner makes your cup of coffee, they pour their hearts and souls into their work. Cappuccino and Vietnamese coffee were on point. Beans roasted perfectly, just the perfect ratio of coffee to milk & foam for the cappuccino which coffee shops with disgruntled or untrained baristas usually get wrong. The price is very, very reasonable even with crazy inflation and high cost in the area. I would pay $2 more per cup here, but glad they're keeping things affordable. I'm a new fan. Cheers

Parking is a bit of a pain bit of you are in waking distance or come early enough it shouldn't be an issue. Sometimes they run out of items if you come later in the day. They have a special Bagel of the month, so make sure to ask what it is. They have several bagel flavors, and different flavor cream cheese spreads. I love the habanero bagel, it's one of my favorites, but just be warned it is very hot. Definitely don't eat it without something cold to drink. They also have a breakfast sandwich called the San Diego which is a favorite of several people I know. You chose the bagel you want it with and they add fried eggs, bacon, cheese and aioli. I highly reccomend it. I've not had a lot of their deinis, but i did order the cinna-bee which has honey, cinnamon, espresso and milk. I thought it was good and would order it again. Definitely check them out and try some of their bagels, or perhaps one of their sandwiches.

I tried several coffee shops along Seaport Village--some stood out for creative flavors, others for strong espresso--but Spill the Beans nailed the perfect balance every single time. We went back multiple times, and the consistency was impressive. My go-to was an iced "Basic Sitch" with oat milk, while my husband loved the warm "Cinna-bee." Both were incredible. The espresso quality was top-tier, and the drinks were made quickly without sacrificing flavor. Our only regret? Discovering this place halfway through the trip. Had we found it sooner, we would've been there every single day. This review is solely based on the coffee, as we didn't get a chance to try their breakfast sandwiches, though the options looked appetizing. This particular location isn't a fully built-out coffee shop, but it's perfect for grabbing your drink and taking a stroll along Seaport Village or, enjoying it at a nearby bench or outdoor seating area.

Finally got to try this cute Japanese cafe we saw on TikTok, and it did not disappoint!…read more Service: [5/5] The two girls who helped us were so sweet and made the whole experience. We were seated at the bar, which ended up being such a vibe--we got to chat with the girl behind the bar and watch her make lattes and desserts right in front of us. That kind of interaction really sets this place apart. Price: [4.5/5] It's on the pricier side, but honestly it feels fair given the quality of food you're getting. You can taste where your money is going. Food/Drinks: [5/5] Matcha Latte -- We shared one, extra sweet at my request, and it was perfect. Exactly what I was hoping for. Chef Soichi's Karaage -- We had this as an appetizer and my boyfriend made a point to say this is the closest he's had to traditional Japanese karaage. High praise from someone who's passionate about his Japanese culture. Hayashi Omurice -- This is their most popular dish and it's easy to see why. The demi-glaze has a really unique flavor that ties the whole dish together beautifully. This was my pick and I'd order it again without hesitation. Guratan -- My boyfriend's order, and it was incredibly creamy and delicious. We were both too stuffed for dessert by the end, which says a lot about the portion sizes. Ambience: [5/5] The restaurant is small, but honestly that's part of what makes it so charming. Pink everywhere with wooden accents and cherry blossoms throughout (very fitting)--it's cozy, homey, and just really well put together. The intimate size adds to the appeal rather than taking away from it. Overall Experience: [5/5] Hatsuzakara was such a wonderful first experience. Yes, we waited about 30 minutes to be seated arriving at 7:30 on a Friday night but for a waitlist-only spot this small, that's actually a pretty reasonable wait by San Diego standards. The food, the atmosphere, and the staff more than made up for it. Already looking forward to coming back to try the curry and work through their dessert menu.

I feel like everything looked really good, so it was hard to decide what to order. The dishes have small portion size despite the price. I think this kinda helps in that you have room to eat dessert! The brown sugar Okinawa tea was good but the after taste of the sugar was not good. They kept the tea pot warm, and they served oat milk on the side. Karaage had too much chicken skin for my preference. Guratan was penne pasta and not macaroni as specified in the menu. Yakisoba could have used more chicken. Omurice had the more flavor and the egg was really good. I want to try naporitan next time because of the tomato based sauce. Of the desserts I tried, the parfait was most enjoyable because of the fruit with ice cream. The mushi pudding was good; it was the thick and "hard" type of flan. I want to try kakigori next time because I saw their shaved ice machine was legit. Parking - free street parking only. Be prepared to walk up/downhill. Credit card/apple pay accepted Bathroom is only one room in the back. THE SEAT IS WARM. This was a nice gem to find in this part of town.
