I was searching for a coffee place that would be along the way from my walk from Little Italy to the Convention Center. The Mudbar popped up on my map and I was surprised to see that it was a little outdoor stall/bar. When we approached the people were super nice and let us take our time deciding and offering helpful recommendations. We ended up going with the Fan Fave - IV Therapy, a Vietnamese Iced Coffee with cinnamon and vanilla cold foam. This coffee was definitely one of the best I've had lately! It had nice deep coffee flavor, the foam was sweet and a great consistency, and it was a really good deal for a nice big cup! I was super satisfied with my drink and would totally be a regular if I lived nearby! read more

I enjoyed a nice iced matcha latte from this coffee kiosk in Little Italy, San Diego. It had a very good flavor but was a little heavy on the ice. I asked for no flavored syrup but just a touch of honey, and the nice lady made it happen. Their service was very friendly. Next time I am in the area I need to try their cortado. read more

Feels like a NY type coffee stand with city car noises passing by, left and right. This place is a gem and the taste here is quite unique to be honest, in a good way. What an awesome local coffee spot Downtown! I came here at the recommendation of someone who works in the area and was so impressed by this little coffee stand. It's more of a kiosk than coffee shop that sits right off the sidewalk and has some seating options around it. There was one woman working while I was there and she was SUPER efficient despite it being busy. I had a larger order for a couple coworkers and had all my drinks in a matter of minutes. The coffee is SO good and they have some fun drink items too. I ordered the Iced Dirty Chai with Pumpkin Cold Foam but will have to return to try their specialty Vietnamese Iced Coffee and Spiced Brown Sugar Mocha. Aside from the drinks being great, what really stood out to me was the service. Beyond being quick, the woman working was so personable and cleary has a roster of regulars. Started my morning off right at mud bar! It was my first time here and I didn't expect a curbside coffee cart. The service was excellent and the baristas were very friendly. I visited at around 9am on a Tuesday morning and it was already pretty busy. Today I tried a drink special - a large iced Vietnamese with cold cream. This drink is STRONG and espresso foreword. I wish the condensed milk was stirred in a bit more with the espresso but it was still pretty good with the cold cream and touch of cinnamon on top. After waiting only 2 minutes, I got my drink and enjoyed it in the shaded patio. I recommend coming with a friend on a weekday morning and enjoying a walk around Little Italy or the harbor. I'll definitely come again and try another drink and maybe a pastry. I highly recommend! read more

Cute little local popup shop is run by a lovely couple who seems to be loved by the regulars who stop by to chat even if they aren't having a coffee. Even a golden retriever popped his fluffy paws on the counter to wait for a treat as his party took him on his morning stroll. I tried their seasonal raspberry white chocolate mocha today with only a single pump of syrup as I prefer my drinks less sweet. If you've ever tried a raspberry filled chocolate from one of those assorted boxes of chocolates and liked it, you'll love this. I also had this apple cinnamon pull apart pastry. The BEST matcha lattes ever. I was in town for a conference and this place was conveniently right around the corner. I went twice, once getting an iced matcha latte with oat milk and strawberry cold foam. The second time I ordered a hot matcha latte with strawberry cold foam. Both were excellent. I went by Mudbar on a Monday morning- it was easy to find and was not what I expected. It was a simple curbside coffee cart with a little bit of covered and uncovered seating. They were BUSY! But even with the amount of people ordering we still had our drinks in less then 5 minutes! Service was great and they were so friendly to everyone who came to order! I ordered a vanilla cinnamon latte and it was great! The coffee really tasted good, lots of flavor and the latte wasn't too sweet. This is hands down, the best cup of coffee I've had in the area. No long waits, no hype, just passionately crafted coffee by the owner at a small stand with outdoor and half covered seating. It's just different when the business owner makes your cup of coffee, they pour their hearts and souls into their work. Cappuccino and Vietnamese coffee were on point. Beans roasted perfectly, just the perfect ratio of coffee to milk & foam for the cappuccino which coffee shops with disgruntled or untrained baristas usually get wrong. The price is very, very reasonable even with crazy inflation and high cost in the area. I would pay $2 more per cup here, but glad they're keeping things affordable. I'm a new fan. Cheers read more

I've been to this place a few times now because it's in such a convenient place downtown and I'm a fan! I will say that the drinks are a bit hit or miss (espresso can be acidic?) but generally the drinks are yummy. It is a cute location and the baristas are soooo friendly and informative. They have cute seasonal drinks which I like too. One thing I will say is I'm 99% sure I was served caffeine when I asked for decaf the last time I went there :( Obviously not a huge deal but I would double check with your barista before leaving. read more

A colleague and I are here this week from Florida for a conference, and we are both straight up geeks about finding hidden gems for good coffee. This morning was a score. Took the trolley from seaport village, and walked up to this lovely young lady setting up outdoor 'shop'. My friend got the raspberry white mocha, and I went with the honey latte. The ONLY little ding was that it was a tad too hot for me, but I went with 5 stars anyway, cuz that's an easy fix! But the friendly service and conversation more than made up for it, and when the drink cooled off just a touch, the beans really shined through. Great coffee. .......and now that I know, from reading other comments, that Jennifer is already spoken for, it's probably a good thing I forgot to ask her to marry me. I took a 6am flight from Seattle to San Diego for the weekend and coffee was the first thing I needed. Reviews had it that this was the best/only place I should go. I ordered a drink on special that was described as a frosted mint mocha. Being from Seattle, the mocha is usually a "gateway" coffee drink one starts with as a teenager, so it's been a while, but I froze when it was my turn and since I like mint, I took a chance. Best coffee I've found in San Diego!!! I kept waiting for the bitterness which never came, and I think there was magic in the frosted mint topping. So delicious. I ended going back for coffee every morning I could while I was there, and since I've been home I have thought about that coffee daily. We were in the San Diego downtown business area for an appointment. It's a busy area with limited and pricy parking. Oh well. The Mud Bar is a convenient coffee kiosk located here. The coffee is good and the service is friendly. They also have a small selection of scones and pastries. I like the cold Vietnamese coffee. It's icy, sweet and refreshing, and perfect on a warm summer day. I have also tried their scones, which is a good pairing with the coffee drink. It was nice that we got an immediate discount when we checked in on Yelp. We have stopped here twice now when in the area.
