I think Five Stars is under rating Trident Adventures. By far the best experience I have had on a group dive charter to date. I have tried all the dive charters on island and this was the first time I didn't feel like I was on a cattle truck at sea. Melissa, Jim, Zach, Garrett(AKO Goldie Locks), and Mel were an awesome team that clearly are out to teach what they love doing. Thank you guys for Turing a short notice group request into a long enjoyable day. We will be back!!!! Update: Went out on my fourth trip last night for a sunset and my first ever night time dive. I can't say enough about how incredible our experience was on Trident Adventures. We were in extremely good hands. Our dive master & Owner, Steve, is an ex-navy seal and his expertise and knowledge of diving was so spot on! They made us feel very safe about diving. Some people were beginners and even they had a blast. The first dive site was off electric beach and was about 30ft. Nice caves, turtles, reefs sharks, eels and more... quite breathe taking! The second site was a double ship wreck. This was about 70ft. Also a very beautiful dive. The captain Mark was also fantastic. We did some fishing on the way out and caught a mahi mahi. That was awesome! The deck hand and dive instructor Drew is also a fantastic dude and marine biologist and oceanographer. All in all a great experience. Fantastic crew!!! I've been diving for 20 years and this team is top notch. This is my second time with them and they never disappoint. The wife and my 2x 10 year olds were ready to do a discovery dive; Andrea and Bryan were super patient and so good with the kids. Highly recommend! Boat and equipment were great. Max, the captain, was also very friendly and runs a good crew. Didn't use the sea scooters this time, but super fun if you're inclined (amazing how much air you save not having to do any kicking (i.e., extra time on the bottom!)). We booked a first time SCUBA dive with trident adventures during our stay at Aulani (which is right down the street). I cannot recommend trident highly enough. Our dive instructor Rick was the absolute best. He was a funny, calm, and knowledgeable instructor that made the experience the best it could possibly be. We saw several seas turtles, lots of beautiful fish, and other aquatic life. The equipment we used seemed top notch. In short it felt like a "premium" experience. If you are going for your very first dive (like us) or your hundredth dive I know you will have a safe, fun, and exciting experience with trident. Davìd our boat captain was extremely personable and friendly. Garrett and Jack also were amazing at coordinating snorkeling and helping us around the boat. After we finished our dive they let us use the remainder of our time out at sea snorkeling and cruising around with a sea scooter. This was truly THE highlight of our trip. When we return I will be diving with trident again and recommending them to everyone I know traveling to the area! read more

This was the BEST thing I did my entire trip - and honestly my entire life! It was an surreal experience and I was in awe the entire time. Rick, Davíd, and Lorin went above and beyond. It is so incredibly worth the money!! I felt safe the entire time and they were so knowledgeable and made it so easy! Never been on a dive boat this nice before! Steve, one of the owners, is an ex-navy seal. You can tell he learned a thing or two during his years of service. Professional company from top to bottom. As a former employee I can tell you that this company is based on lies and misinformation. Not only do they offer a high priced and average tour, pay their employees an absurdly low amount of money; but they have no regard for the safety of the reef they gain all of their revenue from. I have witnessed first hand the "owner" and face of the company, Stephen Kaplan, drape a net over coral while he disassembled another to scare fish into his trap. He broke and entire head of coral just to capture wild reef fish for his personal aquarium. In my year of working for this company, I not only watched them kill reef life, such as octopi and other aquatic species, for the entertainment of their guests; but I also had my dive master endanger my life. On one of our dives he would not let me surface until my psi in my scuba tank reached 50 PSI. I made sure I alerted him every time my PSI dropped by 100 and he still waited until the last minute to surface. I ended up surfacing with 25 in the tank. I personally won't tell you what to do with your money, but I would not give it to these people. If you're swayed by what I wrote, Dive Oahu is a fantastic alternative. My husband and I went out with the group yesterday to learn to scuba dive. We had so much fun and felt so safe with this group of professionals. Our instructor was the best. I ended up chickening out but they were never too pushy to make me do it. I got all the gear on and into the water but just couldn't do it. They were all so kind to me and kept me feeling good. I plan to go back and do it again. My husband did it though. He did great and I knew he was in good hands. He had a blast seeing turtles, beautiful fish and an eel. I am so proud of him. Wow!!!! We had a wonderful trip on the water February 22, 2021 with Captain Davíd, Dusty and Company owner Steve. From check in to finish everyone was so attentive. They spent so much time making sure we had the best trip. You could tell everyone loved their jobs. We saw whales, dolphins, turtles and even a white tip reef shark while snorkeling. We saw and held an Octopus because Dusty made sure we got the experience. The service is top notch, and equipment is as well. It was waiting for us when we arrived with our names attached. I had two days of amazing dives with Trident Adventures and it's one of the best things I've ever done in all my travels. The professionalism of Trident really sets them apart from from, not just other dive operations, but almost any other business. Upon arrival, the boat had their new, top of the line diving gear all prepped so all we had to do was cruise to the dive site and put it on, everything couldn't have been more smooth. The entire crew of the boat are certified dive masters, even if they weren't going in the water that day, and I had one of the SEAL co-owners on the boat each day so that was a huge confidence builder as I took a 12 year break from diving. This experience really made me rediscover my love of diving and I hope to take it to the next step with an advance diver course with them at some point. The water was clear and the surface was calm so I didn't suffer any seasickness. Underwater we saw lots of marine life with my biggest thrill of being guided by dive master Brian who found an octopus! The second day I got to do a wreck dive which was really memorable in addition to another reef dive. It doesn't matter if someone is looking to just snorkel or are an advanced diver, you're going to have a great, confidence building day out with Trident and I can't recommend it enough. We booked a last-minute three hour snorkeling tour with Trident Adventures who are also ex- Navy Seals at 7 am on a Monday morning at the Ko'Olina Marina which was $10 to park there. The fee was $129 per person which was less than other similar boats. The process was easy, the instructions were clear and we were offered coffee from a Keurig. They did not have decaf so I couldn't partake. We were welcomed by Captain Davîd. The welcome felt authentic and the staff were friendly. It was a small party of 8. You have to remove your shoes before getting on the boat to preserve the deck. The boat was large with an indoor area to keep out of the wind. The sun was hot and I was glad I wore a rash guard shirt. There were some Rice crispy bars, granola bars, and pretzels for snacks. Everything was clean and well cared for. There were two other staff members - Zion, and Loren. Within a few minutes of leaving we stopped to see Spinner dolphins and a turtle which was very exciting. After arriving at the snorkeling area far out from Electric Beach. We were all given in-depth instructions on how to snorkel and how to use the equipment provided. For an extra fee of 15 dollars they can equip a mask with a prescription lens which was very cool. Zion personally helped each person put on their gear with instructions and helped them down the sloped stairs into the water. We were also offered the use of an underwater dive scooter. We didn't try it at our age. Loren put on her scuba equipment and kept on eye out for us. Zion helped with any needs and handed out fish food. We saw needle nose fish, a small shark, an eel, a baby squid, lots of colorful fish, and another turtle from afar. After snorkeling for over an hour and half we packed up and Loren cut up a fresh pineapple for us. The trip was easy, comfortable, and an awesome adventure. I had also bought a full face snorkel mask that I got from Costco for $29 with me, I felt that it was more comfortable and easier to use than the separate mask and mouth piece. Especially for children. There is a tip jar at the end of the ride to express appreciation so bring cash. read more

We did the DSD (discover/try scuba dive) this morning and it was incredible. I've never done scuba before, and my friend was certified but hadn't dove in 12 years. We both still got to go at the same time together. Meanwhile also going on was a snorkel swim with some other guests, and a Navy SEAL dive with another. The crew did 3 things on one boat and it was seemless, and great for groups where not everyone wants to (or can) do the same thing. In addition to scuba we also snorkeled, got to use the underwater scooters, got some fishing in and caught 2, saw about 20+ dolphins up close, and had snacks juice and hot chocolate. The crew is amazing, everyone is professional, down to earth, fun, and good at what they do. My friend told me she felt much safer knowing she was on the ocean with real Navy SEALs. On top of all that, the boat is new, I'm told it was redone about 10 months ago. The company is top knotch, almost bougie (in a good way). They have your name tagged on your gear before you even arrive, they give you those Japanese style hot towels after finishing your dive, and they gave us a little gift bag as we were getting off the boat. They pay attention to detail and it's the little things like this that really leave a lasting memory. Like I said I've never scuba'd before. I didn't know anything about it. I'm not even a strong swimmer and rarely get in the ocean. I had a blast, had no problems at all, and felt natural underwater. If you're reading this review then you're probably considering booking something with this company. Do it. You won't regret it. It was such a great experience in every way that I can't imagine diving with any other company. read more

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE. This was my 1st snorkeling experience and I was nervous but wow. The staff truly made us feel well taken care of. The staff is comprised of retired NAVY seals and customer care is definitely their first priority. They even let us try out the scooters and put out a large mat on the water for the kids to take breaks on, and our kids had a blast on. Our 2 kids, 10 and 6, had the best time. The 10 year old hot comfortable and took off snorkeling. But our 6 year old took a few minutes to warm up to the waters and his mask. Even after warming up, he insisted on holding onto my hand so a staff member took him so I could enjoy my time. With the staff member, our son got to touch and see sea stars, urchins, and an octopus the staff member dove to retrieve. My husband has been snorkeling multiple times but he says this was the best experience. Clean boat, fresh pineapples cut on board, snacks and cold drinks the entire trip...so awesome. Thank you Trident! You made this an amazing experience for a nervous first timer. We saw 3 shipwrecks, huge turtles, spinner dolphins, octopus, eagle rays, eels, beautiful coral, fun swim-throughs, and a wide variety of colorful fish. They split us up into small groups, each with our own leader, as to make the experience more individualized and not crowded. It was amazing! My 15 year old son and I hooked up with trident through a friend. This place is outstanding, from ownership to crew. My son did the PADI certification program. We didn't initially plan on getting the certification, but, after the first dive, my son was hooked and decided to get the certification. The instructor for my son's first dive was the owner, Steve (retired Navy SEAL). He couldn't have been better. He was very patient and caring. The instructor for his PADI certification was Darnell. As with steve, he was very patient and was great with him. My son has a nervous, excitable, personality and the instructors handled him fantastically. In fact, until this experience with Trident, diving wouldn't be on the list of things my son would even consider doing. Additionally, they were very attentive to this old man as I was coping with motion sickness . . . They checked on me regularly, gave me an oil for behind my ears, water, and warm towels. Donna, the Trident manager, helped us through the whole PADI process. Their service and accommodations is well above and beyond other's. I really recommend Trident and will be coming back here when we visit Hawaii in the future. read more

We had an amazing dive with Steve and his crew at Trident Adventures!!! My 2 kids (ages 14 and 10) did their first scuba dive through the PADI Discover Scuba Diving program. Their instructor, Chase, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and got them comfortable with diving extremely fast. They got to see a shark in a cave, turtles, rays, and an octopus. They even got to ride an underwater scooter. Big smiles from both kids!!! I was fortunate to be the only other diver and got a 1:1 dive with Steve. It was awesome and fantastic!!! I haven't dove in a while, but after getting refreshed on the basics we rode scooter for the rest of the dive. Did a couple passes by the kids to see how well they were doing and ended up seeing a bunch of stuff including a shark, many turtles, and a big octopus!! Steve from Trident Adventures was amazing! We went with the package with the helicopter jump and scuba diving. Not once did we feel in the least bit unsafe - everything was smooth and comfortable. The helicopter ride - don't forget that this doubles as a doors-off helicopter tour! We got to fly right off the coast of Waikiki from the airport area towards Diamond Head. We have been on doors-off tours before, but this was double the amount of visibility. The views were breathtaking! The jump wasn't scary at all with Steve and the team helping. After the jump (about 30-40 feet) we were soon suited up for scuba. I hadn't been diving in over a decade but with the team helping me it was like riding a bike. They give you the "Princess Treatment" where it's all done for you. Don't forget: always breath, and don't swim up too fast! We swam with turtles, saw a white tip reef shark, and all kinds of fish and coral. The whole team was decked out in GoPros and all the raw files were sent to us for $25. A more polished and finished video is $100 more - worth it for an unforgettable experience! Trident Adventures spurred my drive to go get open water certified. Can't wait to get back down there! Phenomenal snorkeling tour! We brought our almost 5 year old and 19 month old and my 63 year old Mom and everyone had a blast! These guys rolled out the red carpet for us and the MAGIC CARPET!! My kids asked me to take them diving so I started researching local dive tours and landed on this one when I learned that the founders/owners are former Navy SEALS.
