First off, Tribal Waters built our pool back in 2020 during the pandemic. We love our pool! it was a great experience. Was it problem free? Of course not. If you're looking for that, you'll never find it. But here's the kicker people! Yesterday, I noticed the in floor cleaning heads not cycling through. So, me being the handy guy I am, take apart the in floor part near the pump. So, I found the problem. My first instinct is to go to the pool supply store and get the part. They didn't have it. I called around some other places and one place said, "yeah, we likely have it. It'll run between $175 to $300" Whoa!! So, I go home after work and dig through pool paperwork to see if I can find a model number for the part. And lo and behold, I run across the warranty info from Tribal that states there is Lifetime Limited Warranty on in floor systems and parts. So this morning (9/12/24), I call Tribal Waters. I fully expected to get, "oh yeah, that warranty is only good if a crocodile damages it under tidal wave conditions... or something insane like that." The receptionist was super friendly (sorry, I forgot her name) and she tells me Brandon is the contact person. Brandon Hanke is the man! He answers, I tell him my issue and he's like, "of course we'll take care of that for you. It just may be 24-48 hours so Monday at the latest. And yes, it's covered." Ok, thats great! I thank him and I kid you not, maybe 10 minutes later he calls back and lets me know they will take care of it early tomorrow morning! Tribal Waters is the best! I contacted my pool maker, Tribal Waters, about needing repair for my pool lights that were not working. I spoke with BRANDON, and he was very helpful. To keep from paying unnecessary repair costs unless absolutely needed, he suggested one test I could do at home. I did it, it worked, and Brandon saved me HUNDREDS of dollars. I needed a new cartridge pool filter to replace an aging sand filter that was having issues. They helped me figure out which one I needed, sold it at a very good price, and installed it within a few days. Very impressed with how quick, professional, and thorough they are. Especially the way they handled the install, as they didn't just remove the old one and slam the new one in. They took the time to explain that we should replace the pad it sits on (it was cracked pretty bad with rebar showing through), reroute the electrical (the cord was too tight and in front), and re-orient the way the pump is facing so it was easier to access and fit better within the space. They did all of those changes for a fraction of what I thought it would cost, and it didn't take that much extra time. I'll add one more thing as it showed how ethical they are. I asked the installer if we should also replace the pump as it is pretty old. He said no, it's working fine, explained how we know it's working fine, and that I should get the full life out of it. If he would have said the opposite I probably would have invested in a new pump, so I appreciated that. The pool is operating a lot better now. I'll be using them again for additional pool remodeling work. read more

We had a Pentair pool pump that started making a squeaking noise recently. I called the office and talked to Michelle on Dec 14 who had me send a picture of the pump to Brandon, who is the warranty and service coordinator. He lined up the Pentair service person (Rick) and the job was completed on Dec 19. The only way we knew Rick was there, was the squeaking noise was gone. This team provided superior customer service, and I would be confident in calling them again for any future service. read more

Nothing positive to speak of here from our brief experience with them. Glad we never dropped a single dollar on these guys. We got as far as trying to get someone to get us under contract then decided that we'd bite the bullet and pay more elsewhere for better service. The front desk person was useless. Doesn't acknowledge you when you walk in - you need to initiate. It's awkward. The showroom is dark. Bring some light to evaluate tile and pebble. Can't take samples home. The front desk person plays the radio with an absurd amount of static. It's horrible - can't think about my potential investment choices because of the ridiculous noise. They are also a pebble only installer and booked out for 3+ months per the front desk lady. After visiting our house, it took them 4.5 weeks (not exaggerating) to get me a quote after 3 emails and two calls following up. When we went back into the office after deciding we would consider going under contract, they couldn't do anything there - they needed the rep that took 4.5 weeks to make a quote (Dane) to get back to us. So okay - let's wait for his call. It's been 2.5 weeks since we've expected him to call us back to get under contract. Nothing. We're done. If you don't want business, just say you don't want it. Don't jerk people around and get 1 star reviews.. We decided to go with another company that was slightly more $ - guess what, they have great reviews, jumped at helping us, and they start next week. read more

Updated..plumbers showed up and did their thing. I got home from work and noticed water running into the giant hole in the ground. One of the fittings failed and popped off..no big deal turned off the water and all was ok. Rebar shows up weeks later. I quit keeping track of dates as I am pretty much laughing at the situation. Rebar crew shows up and installed the rebar...and leaves..electric shows up and does their thing. tribal Forman shows up..looks at the rebar job and decides yep ready for inspection...thankfully the city of phoenix inspector did his job and failed us because the rebar installers put everything at 12" on center and not 6" also missed a lot of the rebar that goes around the lights and skimmer. I called tribal and they said they would send out the crew to fix. Next day steel crew shows up loads the rebar onto there truck and left...they had a better job down the road...tribal had to hire a new company to come finish the job. Now onto the shot creat...4 week waiting time..ok seems on par...4 weeks nope..5 now...oh wait 6 because we have an epic monsoon.. finally August 5th we got shot crete... now spray every 2 hours for 5 days. Now pergola guy needs to come out and set posts before the deck forming...August 13...nope. Saturday August 14th..nope monday..nope.. August 17th decking forms are installed...still no pergola guy. This has been very amusing and frustrating and comical and sad all in one. Almost 1 full year since we did the design walk and start financing we still have a muddy giant mess in the back yard and no pool. More to come Finally get th read more

We live in CA and were selling our rental property in Scottsdale. We engaged Tribal Waters to repair and remodel the pool at a cost of around $15,000. First, Tribal Waters misrepresented when they could start the job. They cashed our $5,000 deposit check and then pushed the start date out one month. Second, the bid did not address or contain the complete scope of work. They failed to identify repairs that should have been done prior to resurfacing the pool. We had to hire a structural engineer at a cost of $900 who said he would have recomended/preferred the repairs be done prior to resurfacing. When we tried to address it with Tribal Waters instead they blamed us for not telling them what to repair...incredible and they said they would not do any further work. THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO BE THE POOL EXPERTS. Furthermore, Tribal Waters ended up costing us an additional $8,000 because they didnt address these items before resurfacing. Tribal Waters is one of the most unprofessional companies I've ever dealt with. The lack of detail on the scope of work when bidding our job was atrocious and the customer service disappointing. They created a great pool for us. I just called in for some warranty work on the in floor sweeping system ( 2 heads were not retracting). They had the service call scheduled in minutes and were out to repair in 3 days. The service person fixed the two broken sweeper heads and found two more that I didn't notice. Tribal Waters did an excellent job on my pool project. From the start salesman/designer Joe Delora understood the vision I had for my backyard. There were hurdles, and minor delays, as are to be expected with any construction project, but the end result matched the vision. The staff at Tribal Waters initiated communication regularly throughout the process to make sure every last detail was exactly what I wanted. They were especially accommodating of my work and travel schedules that had me out of town on weekdays for much of the construction process. My project was completed in October, but I was finally able to host my first big pool party last weekend. All of Joe's social design elements worked beautifully. I received compliments from all of the guests. People raved about the sun shelf, the swim up bar, and the additional seating. From start to finish, albeit 15 months, they designed a beautiful pool for us and provided excellent teams to do each section. People may not have realized that the pandemic had a massive impact on workers and supplies in every industry including pools! Knowing that, I was patient with timing. When workers came (masons, fence builders, pool dig, cement, shotcrete, deck, pebble tech, pergola, etc. etc.) they were fabulous in their art, professional, on time and cleaned up afterwards. Most was done during Arizona HOT summer. I could not be more pleased or impressed with the workmanship! I was in contact with the Project Managers the whole time and who couldn't have been nicer. Our general contractor, Dion, was above and beyond EXCELLENT in all he did--knowledgeable, experienced and hard worker! I know he was working around the clock with many customers, but he always managed to come out (Rio Verde foothills) and manage the large project; and, he was outstanding in all he did. Took six months to install mini pebble and change out the tile. The mini pebble is splotchy in the deep end and the tile work is poorly done. They don't show up when they tell you and they don't respond to emails. Stay away! read more

Greetings, I have been working on my dream pool project now for the last 2 years and have to say where other pool builders would literally walk away with no further communication, Tribal Waters took on the challenge and has been exceptional in many ways. I have learned a great deal about the Pool process -- and perhaps many take it the wrong way as it is not "cookie cutter" or even as traditional as building a house -- there is a great deal of decisions. Unless these are really discussed and confimed, it can lead to dis-satisfaction. Over the years, I have seen the various trades/sub crafts move in/out of Tribal, so that is something that is central to all business processes -- including home building, where you have work that needs to be done by a given specialist -- and different levels of abilities. And unlike other contractors -- they have been fantastic to correct any/all problems with equipment or issues that arise. This is something that many other trades, simply do not do. Tribal Waters focuses on custom jobs and remodels -- they have been wonderful at bringing my ultimate dream to light -- It is the World's FIRST EVER SOLAR POWERED SURF PARK. Yes, literally, I surf in my backyard, and with the updates in the coming months, I will be able to handle up to 225 lbs per person. Enclosed are some pictures - AND Google the following: " Surfing Middle Desert" [the first version done 2 years ago] or feel free to ask more questions of me, directly. Sure, it might be cheaper to fly/Drive to San Diego, but now, with the swipe of my fingers on my smartphone, I can surf in my backyard, with a nearly zero electric bill, year round, and share this experience with my clients and friends. The pool itself looks beautiful with numerous fountains and waterfalls, even at night, rivaling Las Vegas! Ultimately-- instead of a dirt backyard or simple kidney pool, Tribal Waters has enabled me to come home to a resort experience that rivals the best destinations in the world. At this point i am extremely dissatisfied with Tribal Waters. I hired a pool company because I did not want to deal with the details and having to oversee every step. This has been far from what i expected. As of now Nick has been the only person at the company that has been able to communicate effectively. He was great and worth mentioning yet after the initial portion of the build i was passed on to the next step where the issues started. Originally It started off with lack of knowledge and attention to detail which has since created a lot more issues. Long story short i currently have an empty concrete shell that overall has an elevation significantly higher than my patio. Then it also has steps at 5inch drop 12 inch drop then 6 inch drop. I can see it now, my 4 year old falling down that significant variation every time. These were not plans i approved yet tribal waters will not admit to their mistake and poor communication to resolve the situation. This company is not worth the hassle. I would recommend avoiding and going with someone more knowledgeable that will not make these mistakes. I also would like to add, this pool is a simple rectangular pool with a baja step and 2 additional steps, very minimal and few items to mess up yet it was! On average i have to send 2 emails, a few text messages and 2-3 calls to even get a response. I have over 75 emails and uncountable calls and messages due to the poor communication and lack of knowledge. I am at the point where my next step is filing a complaint with BBB/ROC or even hiring a lawyer. Not sure how else to work with a company that blames the customer for their mistakes. read more

Very disappointed purchasing a pool with this company. They have gone beyond the timeline that we have been told. The Companies they have doing their work(excavating, tiling, etc.) are not reliable and it makes them look bad. There is also a huge lack of communication between the contractor and the office. Many days have been wasted from the tribal workers not relaying messages. I do have to say, they always make time to pick up their payments. I recommend Dolphin Pools and if I am Ever in the position of purchasing a pool, I will go to Dolphin. Very disappointed. read more

This company was a huge disappointment to deal with and if I could give them no stars I would. Their website shows great pools and I had contacted them to get a quote. After contacting them a month ago to request a quote and design with a possible model design provided to them we still have not received a design or quote. We provided the designer with a diagram and they misplaced it, then were told they would have a design and quote by Thursday the 28th and still had no word. Then today we received a text from Jerry Smith staring the design was completed but they couldn't get it to us until Monday because he had already left. He was very unprofession and if they have all these delays in just the quote and design of the pool I would be very concerned using them to actually build a pool. I will definitely be finding a different builder to complete my pool project. read more

First off, I'd like to say that I've never posted a bad review, however I've become so frustrated and disappointed with Tribal Waters and their lack of professionalism, poor communication and quality that I need to say something. I can site specifics that erode trust in the competency of the company. 1. Site plan submitted with incorrect measurements. 2. Incorrect information given regarding the # of waterline tiles required for the project, with no mention of the need for bullnose and 3x3. 3. Wanting to charge me to rehang the access gate and not letting me know that it could have been rehung immediately after the dig. This is a security/safety issue for me. 4. Change of construction supervisor in mid project with no communication. 5. Shoddy workmanship from hired crews that leave their trash left behind. My biggest frustration is the implication that the delays were my fault. Really? Who is the professional here? I understand COVID has affected people and service (hey I'm in health care) however I believe my small project has taken a back seat to other larger projects and that if I do mention a concern, it will further delay the completion which has been a much, much, much longer time than promised. I do not think I could be more frustrated than I am with this process!! We signed a contract in 4/21 after interviewing several pool companies for our project. We decided to go with Tribal Waters as they were quick to get back to us and while not the least expensive we wanted quality and to make sure we had someone to have our back in completing the pool in a timely fashion. Jason our sales rep. was accommodating and answered all our questions and we thought all was going great. That was UNTIL the the project started and since it has been my worst nightmare!! In September of 21 our permits were approved and while we had an issue with our tenants moving out we were on their schedule. When they finally excavated for the hole it was completely off and thank god I was down there at the time and called my husband in a panic. The pool was completely off. Delays to get that fixed and was told the wrong drawings were submitted. That was fixed and the hole sat for many months. We were told workers would show up and they didn't or they would for about an hr. and leave. Do these guys ever work? Then we were told our pool was 14,000 gallons when we signed a contract for over 17,000 gallons. It was explained that the Baja shelf takes away. Well why was that not explained and if were paying for a 17,000 gallon should that not be what we get? Finally we were on the schedule for shotcrete and that was 6 weeks out but, wait there is more. They did not show up! We flew down from Washington to make sure we could spray the pool down and check on production because at this point with the incorrect dig and the constant delays plus lack of communication there is absolutely no trust. So we paid for a trip down for nothing as they did not show up, we were rescheduled after I explained we came down and were told they would be there 2 days later. Nothing no show again! It took 2 more weeks for them to finally show up and then apparently the Baja shelf was dug to deep and they had to do some sort of corrections. Finally that was done but guess what? These guys like to leave their garbage everywhere and in the wind it blows everywhere my neighbors have been so pleased.. not. I have asked Yolanda now 3x to tell these guys to take their garbage with them. When they install the materials they rip open boxes and just leave them with the instructions everywhere hence also blow everywhere. To make it even more comical we brought a shovel down for our usage and the shotcrete guys took it! Also, asked our Super, who was Jimmy and now is Wade, to get our shovel back please. Not yet. Then I was told we were on schedule to have the forms put in for concrete patio. Again, did not show up when they were suppose to but they did come and worked for no more than 2 hrs put forms just around the pool and left and have not been back. When I emailed today to find out why I was told the wrong plans were left at the site and they had to resubmit them on Friday. WHAT??? I hope the owner gets this we are beyond frustrated, have absolutely no trust in this company any longer, so tired of all their delays, their contractors are a joke and wish to all the heavens we had gone with someone else at this point. Over a year later and still have no idea when this will all end!!! read more

We had a great experience with Tribal Waters. Lesa listened to exactly what we wanted. Both Kaitlyn and Yolanda were always available and even worked after hours when necessary. We were always able to contact Randy, the Superintendent was also always available if we had any questions. Horrible - In 2017 the sales and design team was a no show for appointments and never followed up with me. We ended up building with another company and spent 65,000 on a pool. We sold the house 6 months later and moved to a lager house and lot with a dirt yard. Decided to call and give them a second try with design and presentation. Called them to set up an appointment and no one called me back. New yard budget was 100,000.. what a bunch of fools I guess my potential 160,000 in business wasn't worth a call or visit. read more
