Would love to give a 5 star review, but unfortunately I cannot. Initially it was going well. He came out and got the lawn mower started and told us of his 30 day warranty. However, the very next day, the lawnmower wouldn't start. We called and left text messages and he came up with excuse after excuse as to why he couldn't come back out to fulfill his warranty. Harry pretty much told me to shut up and later snapped at me and told me to go away even though I didn't say a thing. Very rude, very poor customer service. If you have questions about your lawn mower, don't ask them. They just want to do the job and leave, they have no interest in helping an owner learn about their equipment. I guess they want you to have to rely on them for all maintenance. And in the end I got charged over a couple hundred and the problem still existed afterwards, mower was still running very rough. So it was all for nothing. Disappointing. I recommend finding a shop that cares about customer service and want to genuinely help their customers. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1, because they did come out and do some work on it, even though they didn't ultimately fix it nor were they nice about it. In our case, he came to our house to do routine maintenance on our generator and then suddenly we needed a new carburetor. We paid him $300. That was in June. Now it's November. To make a very long story short: after Harry installed a carburetor in my Troy-BILT riding mower, the engine and everything under the hood caught fire!! Terrible service. "Repaired" a pressure washer that required a new carburetor. Paid for it in advance. After many phone calls and 6 months later (originally told it would be 2-4 days), I was told the part came it. Many rescheduled appointments later, Harry installed the new component. Soon after, I went to use the pressure washer and gas was spewing from it. Harry said he would come fix it but he never showed up. It has been over a year since this process started. No longer returns phone calls and now the number I must be blocked because the number "fails" when I call. read more

*331777-1372-B2* Hard-starting 20hp Briggs Intek with a broken governor ass'y. Misdiagnosed- he COMPLETELY missed the one thing that causes hard starting: a simple valve adjustment. Engine brought back in a terrible shape- full of filthy oil (!), case gasket RE-USED (!!), case held together with head-bolts & vice-versa, red rtv all over everything.... to be fair, there WAS a new (?) governor ass'y in there. How do I know? I HAD TO TEAR THE ENGINE DOWN AGAIN MYSELF! And the motor STILL had shrapnel in it! So much was done wrong, had I tried to run it, it would surely not have outlived the 45 day warranty I was assured of. Called and txtd him about this for several days, with ZERO response. This review is 100% factual. I have no axe to grind. This person has NO IDEA what they're doing. Don't learn an expensive lesson- I've already done it for you. You're welcome. I would not recommend Triangle Small Engines. One hour after Harry repaired my mower a big chuck of the mower blew out. I contacted Harry with pictures and he said it looked like part of the engine. I asked if he could come look at my mower and was told we need to start looking for another mower. I wasn't expecting to get my 90 dollars back that I paid him, but was expecting him to come look at it to confirm the problem. Poor customer service for not returning. Worst 90 dollars I spent! My first experience and it was fantastic! Harry is a good communicator, cares more to ensure his customer is taken care of than any business I've encountered, and is a smart and engaging guy. But far beyond that, Harry knows his stuff and is efficient and does great work. My equipment came back looking and working in much better than it has for years - as good as new. I had Harry the owner of this business. Harry came to my house to repair a scooter. Harry seemed to be a nice guy. This is where it ended. I gave him a $200 Deposit and after 3 appointments that he did not show NOR did he call. He disappeared. Read his reviews this us his NORMAL SCAM. You can not take him to court because his business is located in a storage unit. Do not do business with this SCAM ARTIST or you will get ripped off. read more

I called Triangle Small Engines for a second opinion after another company told me I could buy a new generator for less than it would cost to fix mine, and I'm SO glad I did. They sent a technician to my home the same day to check it out. He explained what he saw, how he could fix it, and how much it would cost, including the part that needed to be ordered. (Which was much less than the cost of buying a comparable generator new.) When the part arrived, the technician called me and we scheduled a time for the very next day. He arrived on time and as promised got it up and running for me again! I'll definitely be calling these guys from now on when I need help with any of my equipment. read more

I'm sorry to say, in my experience this 2-star rating is a little on the generous side. I called to have the engine on my riding mower fixed, but I had to depend on Harry to pick-up and drop-off the mower since I don't have a truck available to me. Although he repaired the mower quickly, he failed to let me know that his access to a truck was very limited and I had to wait a long time to get my mower back -- so communication was a significant problem in our dealings. In addition, he seemed irate at me for his limited availability, and our difficulty arranging a time to bring the mower back. AFTERWARD: 4 months after his initial repair, my mower stopped working again; I contacted Harry to ask if he still had limited access to a truck, but communication has continued to be a problem. I have opted to have the mower fixed by someone else. The *new* problem is closely related to the old problem (1st problem involved the intake valve, the new 2nd problem is a stuck exhaust value) -- but I'm not going through that problem with Harry again. I think if you can transport your problem engine to Harry, he (and his father, who advises him on repairs) can do good work -- but beware of the communication gap, because in my experience Harry won't volunteer more information. I called the business during off-hours when I was shopping around for service options and price. Harry circled back with me promptly and scheduled an appointment to come to our home the following day, which was a Sunday. Harry tuned up our mower promptly and professionally and explained all his work. He even returned to our home the next day to install the proper air filter on our mower when he didn't have the correct size in his truck initially. His level of service and courtesy was top-notch. I asked them to come out and they said they would be here at 10AM....then 10:30 to 11:30AM. I asked if the appt would run longer than 2 or so hours....they said they would be here at 10AM. Showed at 10:30AM. I gave him the little ginny first, he sat it on the tailgate of his pickup and in my driveway and I said please don't get oil and "stuff" all over my concrete drive because I just had it repaved. I took my pressure washer here because it was not producing pressure. My suspicions were that the pump needed to be rebuilt. After they had the machine for a couple of weeks I called them up to check on the status. He informed me that the pump was OK and that it was the hose or gun that was faulty and recommended I replace them. He charged me $25 for his diagnoses. I felt his diagnoses was incorrect, so I ordered the parts to rebuild the pump myself. After rebuilding the pump the machine worked flawlessly (I did not replace the hose or gun). read more
