Our furniture was wrapped in movers blankets AND plastic wrap. I prepped & pre-packed my own personals and kitchen and the move went really fast. By Spring 2026 a 2nd move out of storage and into a truck for delivery out of state was completed. Again Safe & Sound did a 5 star job packing the truck for a long journey. I was charged only for actual hours worked... I drove the truck to Maine and hired a local crew to unload - the local Maine crew were ok but cost me almost 3 times more with minimum contract hours and too many movers. I would hire Safe and Sound Movers again without hesitation.

They were a coordinated team with a crew leader who was honest and quick to point out points of damage. (Thanks, Michael!) They moved our household contents as well as two home offices and a storage unit containing 50+ years of career detritus! Not only that, their estimate was the most realistic (not the lowest) we received (Thanks Barry!) All in all, we've moved 9 times and this was the biggest and the best move we've ever had!

On top of the excellent service, their pricing was very affordable, especially for an out-of-state move, and there were no surprise charges. If you're looking for a moving company that combines care, reliability, and great value, I highly recommend The Local Moving Company. We would absolutely use them again. Johnny and his team, Travis and James, showed up on time and were both personable and very efficient with their work. They were careful with all the pieces (there were some older pieces of furniture that needed to be handled with care). In one case a bolt & washer unscrewed from the stand they had been on, but they found them on the truck for us. They were also very fast with both the loading and unloading of the truck which was great since we all had to drive back to the Triangle from Charlotte.
