Do not go here!!! The manager is an absolute idiotic prick. I went here for a simple alignment and he damaged my car driving it up on the lift and refused to take any responsibility. To add insult to injury the car was given to me by my father months before he passed away last year and is rare, making parts difficult to find and repairs expensive. He is dishonest, not good at his job, doesn't know his equipment, and only cares about himself. There are plenty of other tire shops to give your business to. Dont make the mistake I did. read more

These guys are awesome! I am currently traveling to the east coast and stopped for the night in Rexburg. For the last two weeks my car has been pulling to the right, making me fight and hold my steering wheel left due to a bad alignment. I had the Toyota dealership align the vehicle two weeks ago, still pulled right. I had a local shop in Sacramento align it 3 times just 2 days ago, still pulled right. After driving for 12 hours having to hold the wheel to the left to keep the car straight, I took a chance taking it to Tri State Tire in Rexburg. I didn't have an appointment, and maybe I just came at the right time, but Cody and Levi looked at the car with me, took the time to align it, test drove with me and fine tuned the alignment. After about 30 minutes with them my car was driving perfectly straight! These guys were super polite and listened to my concerns and took the time to explain what was wrong and what they were doing to fix it. If I lived in Rexburg I'd take my car to these guys every time I had maintenance or an issue that needed repair. So thankful for find them! read more

When the rubber hits the road! While visiting Rexburg, ID, I had my front struts replaced on my MB Sprinter by a friend. It's prudent to have the vehicle realigned following any front-end work. My friend recommended Tri-State Tire. I was surprised that the alignment was perfect. But I was shocked that they did not charge me anything. They had every right to ask for and expect payment. This speaks volumes of their integrity. The reality is that they could have taken advantage of the fact that I'm from out of town, and said nothing and taken the full charge. If I could give them a negative rating, I would. My sister took her car there yesterday and was told to have it back before 9 this morning. She was there at 8:45 am. 4 hours later, she hadn't heard from them so she walked back to check on it. Even though she checked it in and gave them the keys, they told her they hadn't even realized it was there. She continued to wait then several hours later, decided to take it to a shop in Idaho Falls instead. When she asked for her car and her 10 dollar deposit, she was yelled at to the point of crying. I've read other reviews on other sites and supposedly they're nice and trustworthy, but that certainly wasn't the experience my sister had. I wouldn't normally review something based on hearsay, but it disturbs me that the owner of a shop would berate a woman, tell her she was never allowed to return to his store, and act like she'd been unreasonable or rude when they'd made the mistakes. read more

I have gotten my car serviced at Tri State Tire about seven or eight times. Most of the times they have been pretty good. There was one time when I dropped my car off to get serviced, they said they would call when it was done. I called later, around the time they close to see when it would be done, since I needed it for work the next morning. That is when the man told me that it was done 45 minutes ago, but that I could not pick it up because they were going to close soon. However, that was a while ago, and one of the owners assured me that it won't happen again. They have been working on fixing mistakes and keeping customers happy. I still take my car there whenever it needs something. Their prices are fair and I don't feel like they are trying to rip me off. read more

I live in CA but grew up in Rexburg and I always try and wait to buy my tires from here when I am in town and get an oil change from them before I head back to CA. I have gotten a couple sets of tires from them and have not had a problem at all. They have always had what I needed in stock and they installed them quickly. The oil changes they do are super fast and affordable. Sometimes they have been so fast that I wondered if they even did anything at all. But the oil and filter were changed and also they had vacuumed the car out. Very nicely done. Overall I have had good experiences there and trust them to do a good job. The best thing about them though is that they don't ever try to oversell/gauge you on engine treatments and coolants that you really don't need at that time. They are a mom and pop shop that is affordable and respects that fixing your car doesn't have to be expensive. They may not have the flash of a "chain" store but their oil changes and tire shop are fantastic. I will keep going back to them for those services. read more

I've heard some bad reviews about this place, seems kind of hit-or-miss. I've had some good experiences with them. I have gone twice for oil changes and to get two new front tires. So 3 trips, each have been great. They are nice. Sometimes they are walking around so you have to kind of walk into work areas to get their attention, sometimes people are offended by that, but mechanic shops are like that usually- except overpriced dealerships. I think this is the WORST place to go, DON'T ever go there if you have another option. They have the worst customer service. My tire went flat just a week after having them put brand new tires on and when I took it in to them they said that it was my fault and that I would have to pay for a new tire or they could try to fix the one that "I ruined" and they would put it back on. Tri state can be a hit or miss. I've been taking my cars there for a few years and I've had one really terrible experience where I couldn't afford to pay for what they quoted me. They offered to not charge me on labor if they worked on it when they were slow. They had it for more than two months. Everything else has been pretty standard for a repair shop. I thought the pricing was a tad high but probably fair. Customer service wasn't always amazing but it's not that bad. Cheapest oil change service in town. Very quick. read more

Interesting. This is the first business that i have come to, that has more filtered reviews than not. And a lot of those reviews are negative. So here's the thing. This is a college town, with a lot of college idiots who are away from home for the first time many with their first car. When something goes wrong, many of these students won't know anything about it or how to fix it Which leaves the window wide open for shady car dealerships. I know that this place has "fixed" many a car, and only later to find out that the part that they said they replaced is the original on the car. Or my car's brakes were "fixed". However they never stopped their scratching sound and now less than a year later another mechanic tells me they need replacing!! How upsetting. Try to go to wherever you are from to get your repairs, or at least Idaho Falls. I don't know who to trust in Rexburg. read more

I'm from out of state and needed to get some work done on my daughter's car. I brought the car in to replace the front brake pads and what I believed was a wheel bearing replacement. Instead of charging me for work I did not need, they told me the wheel bearing did not need to be replaced and only replaced my brake pads. The cost to replace the pads was very reasonable, but more importantly, they proved to me I could trust them! I spoke with a few people, but the person who helped me the most was Jordan. I sent my wife in for a oil change before leaving on a trip. I assumed they would check the other fluids and the tires pressures, filters, etc. 500 miles later the car was pulling. I checked the tires and no 2 tire pressures were the same! One had only 20 lbs! I checked the other fluids after that. Radiator - half gallon low, washer fluid- half full, oil - 1 quart low. Admittedly I am NOT a great maintainer of autos and rely on these guys what a let down! Modest price: get what you pay for! read more

I took my car here to have a few different things done to it such as power steering pump replaced new axle and alignment done and took it back to them saying the car is making funny noises and that the alignment was off and they took it back and said they would fix it and gave it back to me saying that it was just air in the lines. After driving with the noise for I looked under the car and saw that the stableliser arm was not connected and had been rubbing on the axle for the last two months and they just deny that they touched it even though they replaced that axle which I know you have to undo to take the axle out. This was one of the most untrustworthy places I have been to. I spoke with the secretary, mechanic and owner and none could give me a straight answer about what was really wrong with my car. Their story kept changing as well. I got my car out of there before they could do any repairs. Later in the day, the owner called me on the phone and threatened me with a lawsuit if he found any bad reviews about the place. I took my car to another mechanic the next day and that mechanic said the repairs Tri State Tire claimed to have done on my car earlier in the year were never really done. Got my oil changed at zippy lube and they did an awesome job. They topped off all my fluids, vacuumed, and cleaned my car all included in the price. I also got my tires rotated. They were quick to get me in and out and gave great customer service, the workers were friendlt and knowledgeable. I will not take my car anywhere else. read more

Had a leaking break-line and a tail-light out. You could see where the hose was leaking and that it was a very worn fit. I took pictures before going in because I knew what I was talking about but didn't have any tools on me to fix the thing as I'd just moved into the neighborhood. They were unwilling to verify or even look at the thing. They wanted to quote it for new rotors and possibly break-pads. They had the truck for 2 weeks -.- I had to walk to work in 17 below and they never once during this 2 week period tried to contact me or tell me when I walked in how it was coming along. Turns out I missed a fuse for the tail-light and it was the break line leaking.... -.- The only plus I give this place is they were fair in their pricing and it didn't cost as much as they originally tried to quote me. read more

I'm not even sure where to START this review. I took my car in on a Friday to get it diagnosed because my engine light was on. Tri-State called a few hours later and said my O2 sensor needed to be replaced. They quoted me $150 for the repair. I told them I would need to bring my car in the following Monday because I was leaving to catch a flight in Utah that night. I asked them (TWICE) to leave my car in their parking lot with the keys under the floor mat so I could pick it up promptly after work to drive to Utah to make my flight. 6:00 rolls around, and I go to pick up my car and it's NO WHERE to be found. I called their store, no answer, and no emergency number. So here I am stuck at Tri-State tire without my car and my luggage for my trip which was in my trunk. Thank HEAVENS I happen to know the owner's niece. I give her a call, and she calls her uncle and he tells me they left my car in their OTHER parking lot 3 three blocks away (they called me back 45 minutes after I'd been sitting in the original parking lot where I had dropped my car off). This was never told to me when I spoke with the mechanic that my car would be left at a different location. So, I drive to UT somehow manage to make my flight. I take my car back in on Monday, believing in giving people second chances. Turns out, they ordered the wrong O2 sensor. I DROPPED MY CAR OFF AT TST ON FRIDAY, MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY and believe it or not... FRIDAY and they STILL did not have the correct part ordered. Then, they quoted me $150 dollars more the following Friday because, and I quote, "We ordered the wrong part and it's actually going to be a much more expensive part." (And this is ONE WEEK after I had dropped my car off for the original diagnosis AND I had dropped my car off every day after that to get it fixed!!) I left furious that Friday, took my car to Taylor Chevrolet, they set me up an appointment to get my car fixed on Monday and it was DONE! Lesson learned. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!!! read more
