I went in for a front-end alignment, and after they took my car back I was told that they couldn't do the alignment until they replaced some worn parts - which they could that day for $500. I thanked them, left, and took my car to my mechanic to take a look at it. After thorough inspection, my mechanic (whom I've been going to for 20 years) told me that there's nothing wrong with my car, and recommended a different place to me where I could get the alignment done. read more

I came here to get my brake pads and rotors replaced, and called to make in appointment in advance. Over the phone I told them I already had and inspection done at their shop with a quote, and knew exactly what I need done and what parts I need. But instead, they decided it would be better to wait for me to come in that morning and then realize they don't have the parts and have to order them when they could've ordered them in advance. I also told them over the phone that this would be under my company account. Day of my appointment and checking in, I reminded them again that it would be under my company account, but when they sent me my receipt it was under a new random account they made for me. So I had to call back and tell them for the 3rd time it was supposed to be under my company account. After this, within a few days my car started squeaking and making whooshing noises when I would brake. So I'm back here today having them take a look and fix the issue. All of the following in my review has happened both times I've come into this shop: No one greets you when you come in, I awkwardly stand there waiting for someone to acknowledge me for 5 minutes. A simple "Welcome in, we'll be with you shortly" is not that difficult. Customer service was decent, everyone is nice, but no one gives me any kind of update or how long it will take. Both times I've sat in the waiting room for 2 hours and have had to go up and ask for an update. The best service I ever got was when the mechanic came out to show me some things underneath my car and give me a visual of what was going on and offered to do some things for free. This was the first time I felt like anyone actually cared and wanted to give me value in what I'm paying for. After spending $780, I'm a little annoyed I've had to come back in to get it fixed and would expect a little better customer service considering the $$ I've spent for this service. All engine is black with dirty oil. Just wanted my college son to get leaks fixed to get home. They just listed each part on the engine. Total was 5k. Tried to talk with the mechanic but could not talk to him. paid 108 dollars diag for what? Apparently a list of al parts that are dirty.. I don't trust them. They lied to me and tried to tell me my water pump was under my timing cover. it is a ford Taurus not a Chrysler. It seems in Rexburg business take advantage of our college students. We are traveling from the Midwest up to the Grand Glaciers pulling our 30 ft trailer camper, planning to arrive home in a month. I was in town from Washington state for 3 days when I noticed a nail in my tire. I had to drive back the next day and was worried of a blowout in the middle of Montana somewhere. They had my tire patched in about 30 minutes even though it looked like they were pretty busy. The guy at the front desk was really nice and honestly I was just baffled at how fast it took. The price was good too at just shy of $17.00. We don't get this kind of service in Washington so I have to give them a big thumbs up ! read more

**DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE**. I took my 2014 keep patriot with 60k miles here for an overheating issue. They said my head gasket had blown and a number of other issues. Told me that it would be around $2,500 or more to fix the head gasket and 2-3 weeks to fix. I then took my car to the dealership for a second opinion. Turns out my radiator was just blocked by some mud and couldn't get enough air or something along the lines of that and it just needed to be washed by a pressure washer. I sprayed it down and it was good to go. Drove it home across the country for 18 hours straight with zero issues. Clair and Dees was ready to keep my car for 3 weeks and charge me 2500 and they likely didn't even look at. Still had to pay the $70 diagnosis even though they diagnosed nothing at all. read more

Was stranded for 10 hours in the middle of nowhere. Clair & Dee carried my size tire for a fraction of what any other tire shop quoted me. I was towed in and although they were busy, they had my car done quick. Great communication and polite workers. They had a company car that allowed me to go get food while my tire was getting fixed! Today, I was as able to get 2 cars serviced before 10:30am. I received fast and courteous service. One of the owners even greeted me and made sure my needs were being met. I'm 50/50 on this place, the first few times I went in they were really helpful. Although recently their services have gotten slow. They lost my trust this last time when I took my old truck in for an inspection. They came back with a list of issues that I was already aware of but added that I needed new tires and a new battery. Which for those things I choose discount tire and auto zone. I went to both of those places and was told that my battery was in great condition and that my tires can last for more time. Those things were top priority for C&D's to fix. This place may work great for others but I'll be looking for a different mechanic. read more

1 star is the lowest option possible, for whatever reason. They charge $80 for every inspection, every time, and insisted that my head gasket needs replaced and that it'll cost $2,300.00 just to fix. I took it to a family friend, down by Pocatello, and he walked me through an entire inspection with my Toyota Camry and showed me that everything is fine. This place will try to eat up your money. Don't waste your time, cause they'll take all that they can get. The people at the desk are nice-enough, and I have a friend that is a mechanic here, but the prices a jacked-up and they'll take their sweet time to do anything on your vehicle. They told me that my alternator had died because of my engine oil leaking onto it, when my alternator isn't even under the engine! With what they charged me, it would have been cheaper and faster to tow my car to Pocatello and replace the alternator. They also took several days just to get my car taken care of. I have had multiple issues having work done with Clair & Dee's Point S recently. Within the last year and a half, they have had to replace the serpentine belt four times and the power steering pump twice. On Monday of this week (11/20/17) I went into Clair & Dee's Point S because I was hearing a squealing sound from the serpentine belt again (this is the fourth time). I was told by a mechanic that it may be the pulleys that hold the belt that may be loose. So, I told this information to Clair & Dee's and asked them to specifically inspect the pulleys. After about an hour, the mechanic came out and told me that the pulleys were in "great shape" and "passed the diagnostic tests" that he had run. I was told that the belt was just bad again and they switched it out free of charge. Now, fast-forwarding two days (11/22/17), my family and I are on the road to Utah to visit family when this squealing sound starts up again along with a clicking/grinding sound. We were close to our destination and so we drove the last little bit, taking it very slow. When I pulled into the driveway, my wife and I noticed a little bit of smoke under the hood and the smell of burning rubber. I left the car running and popped the hood. Looking down inside the engine, I noticed the lower pulley wobbling back and forth. All this after being told that the pulleys looked "great". After I turned off the car, all the sudden, my power steering pump shoots fluid out through the cap. (This is what was smoking). Now, thanks to Clair & Dee's, my wife, daughter, and I are stranded in Utah trying to find a mechanic (which is next to impossible with it being Thanksgiving weekend) that can correct their mistake so that we can hopefully get home before we have to be back to work and school. I don't even want to think about the cost right now that this is going to cost us. So, my final piece of advise: AVOID CLAIR & DEE'S LIKE THE PLAGUE. They don't seem to really look for the problem and solve it, they just do a quick, cheap fix and hope you come back when you need additional work done on the same problem. They are just there to steal your money and run with it and you'll only have to pay out more in the long run. read more

We had taken our car into Clair and Dee's in Rexburg to get our breaks and rotors fixed. They did not fix our rotor or gave us an old one. We went to Grease Monkey and they found a lot more things wrong with the breaks, which Clair and Dee's should have fixed. We took our car in twice to Clair and Dee's for the same problem and they didn't fix it. Thank goodness for Grease Monkey. They also have better prices at Grease Monkey. read more

If it was possible to give 1/2 or 0 I would. Called today to get a quote to have them weld on my trucks exhaust. They quoted me $35 and maybe 1/2 hr tops to do it. Dropped off my truck and had to wait 2 1/2 hrs and then they tried to charge me $160 for the work. When I said no way the owner tried to tell me I was lying and I proved me wrong. Still ended up paying over double what I was quoted. Avoid this place AT ALL POSSIBLE. read more

They were awful. Went to take my car in to get an oil change and get the engine light read. Said they had to wait for their main guy to finish it up. I ended up taking my husbands car home to Idaho Falls and my husband was going to go get the car once they called, which they said they would by 4:30. 6:30 comes around and they never call. They don't answer their phones. My husband goes by and they are closed. My husband gets to our car and it is unlocked with no keys. Not only did they never call me or my husband but they left the car unlocked. Things could have been stolen from our car. Also my husband was stuck in rexburg till 9pm and had to borrow someone's car to get home. They are careless. Not only did they charge ridiculous but they gave us "$10" off the service. My wife drove over a rock with her car, it just punctured a small hole in the exhaust about the size of a penny. They charged us 65 dollars to weld it up, which is a rip off. Then I get back home and check out what they did, only to find my catalytic converter was gone! They jacked me, I had to buy a new one to get it registered in Ca. They also stole my brother in laws catalytic converter when he just got an estimate. Don't go here, they will rip you off for the job they do, plus rip parts off your ride. read more

I've been dealing with some abnormal wear on my pickup tires for some time now. I have gotten 2 alignments in less then 6 months from this place to combat this along with a tire rotation. Yet the abnormal wear continued, so I took my pickup to another place for a different opinion and I'm glad I did. The mechanic there explained to me that there are three things to consider for an alignment which are camber, toe, and caster; he then explained to me that my pickup has these "factory tabs" that allow him to know if alignments have been made in relation to parts of those considerations. He brought it to my attention that these "factory tabs" were untouched and that probably only the easiest alignment was made. It's frustrating my tires had good amount of life on them and I was trying catch the problem before it it got worse, to find out I was getting skimmed on alignments. Being a college student I do not have a lot of money to begin with and these alignments costed me almost $100 a piece and to top things off I know I will have to prematurely put new tires on my truck with a problem I tried to address early. Good people and good tires. Very lazy in the diagnosis of a brake problem. When I asked them to do a normal tire rotation and brake check they came back and said oh it's the brake fluid, okay I had that done. The brakes were still squishy and they said "oh just go somewhere else." I did cuz its winter in Idaho and very dangerous to not have good working brakes. This ended up costing me more diagnostic money, because they were not willing to check the adjustment of the brakes so the shoes would stop with the drum. No parts just a simple diagnosis. read more

I've used these guys for a few years, and I will never go back. I'm a fairly new car owner, and every time I bring my car in there are always more issues than I expect. Same goes for my wife's car. And we are talking about at least one new issue, unrelated to the last issue. I thought this was normal for cars, that they just required tons of maintenance. After a while it felt suspicious (especially when I chose not to fix some issues and they seemed to mysteriously disappear). I decided to ask another mechanic to check things out and see what he could find. I didn't tell him that I was coming from another mechanic, so I know he wasn't just being nice to me to try to steal my business. Apparently my oil leak, and the three other things wrong with my car are all lies. I then told this mechanic that pointe s said I have all these issues. He said he has had several customers mention that point s has lied to them as well. DO NOT GO HERE. They will tell you your car has problems that it doesn't, and charge you to fix something that was never an issue. (I also want to mention that since I've been going here, mostly to fix leaky/flat tires, I have had so many leaks and flats that it's become a joke with my family and friends. My wife's car too. I can't say that pointe is doing something out right illegal to my car to make sure I keep getting these flats, but I am suspicious, and my new mechanic said that my tires were over filled after I had just been in to pointe s. It could have been the automated machine that I used to fill them, but after my experience I can't help but wonder if it was pointe s.) read more
