This place is a rip off!! they double charge you for a simple inspection!! when I first saw the initial inspection be close to $300 I should've ran there. I had them check a simple sqweck on my belt and they found 50 other things that "needed" done.. took it to my regular shop and they said all of it was fine.. They are really taking advantage of poor college students who wouldnt know to look somewhere else... please go to IF if possible way better service!! Let me start by saying that I never write reviews. But, Car Shop really does care about their customers. They know and believe, that if they do a good job and treat their customers right then more people would recommend them. So, they do their best to have a customer leave satisfied. I would (and do) recommend Car Shop to anyone that needs their car worked on. They also emailed me a summery (with pictures) of what they checked(e.g. my brakes, oil level, tires, and stuff like that.) TL:DR; exceptional service, great people, normal price for car repair. Free 50 point inspection. 10/10 would recommend. Right before leaving Utah for Rexburg, my car wouldn't do anything when I hit the gas. It was like the pedal was disconnected. It threw 3 codes and it was stalling out as I tried to accelerate. Luckily we got back, so I brought it here to see if they could figure out what it was. I know how to repair things, but felt like there was an underlying issue causing these three codes and that if I repaired the three parts, it wouldn't fix the issue. Their fantastic technicians figured it out within the day, and I got the car back by the end of the 3rd business day of getting it to them. Price was consistent with what I would expect for a through diagnosis and repair, though if I could have gotten and replaced the bad part myself I would have, since I do repairs often and it would have been cheaper. Opted not to since I'd have to wait to get the part, hope the car would start for me to drive home, and then if something else ended up being the issue I'd have to take it back lol. I have to use my husbands account but I just wanted to say this was the best car experience I've had in town. I frantically went in to get my turn signal light fixed, it went out the day before I was supposed to go on a long road trip, I was afraid that either they wouldn't be able to fix it, they would take too long, or it would cost too much. None of that was the case. I was literally in and out of there in under an hour. They fixed my turn signal promptly and the price was great. I had a part that needed replaced that happened to be way out of my budget. They did a great job to help me find a decent part that was somewhat more in my budget and even gave me a couple discounts. My vehicle is currently there and they are working with the warranty company to get the best possible outcome while also keeping me updated on the situation. They try to charge you for stuff you don't need. Then when you go in to pay they "accidentally" try to charge you for everything they think is wrong with the car. If you go in for an oil change, be ready to pay over 100 dollars. Also, they wouldn't give an old lady her car back when I was there and they were trying to get her to sleep in her car in their lot for the night in the middle of winter. All because she didn't have the money to pay for the work they did, which probably was not even authorized by her, or if she did authorize it, did not know how much it cost. Horrible. read more

I am very upset with how this business is run. I went in for a checkup and 1. They did not tell me of the $80 diagnosis check up before they looked at my car, & 2. They broke off some of the wires on my spark plugs when checking it. They then expected me to pay an exorbitant amount for the diagnosis and to fix the wires they broke. Very unhappy. Did the work myself in under a hour for less then $100 versus the $450 they said it would cost me. Don't trust them with your car. There are far better mechanics around this area that will do it for cheaper, or better yet learn how to fix it yourself! YouTube can do wonders when trying to save money. read more

They even gave my car an inspection and warned me of a repair my car would need in a years time and gave me an estimate for said repair on the spot in case I came back to them for it. This place is great I've been here a couple times and this last time I thought I needed new brake pads but they looked at them and told me they were fine and didn't charge me anything. They could have changed them anyway and gotten paid quite a bit but instead helping me out was more important even though I wouldn't have known the difference. read more

My son needed some work done on his car so he could get home at the end of his term at BYUI. A phone call on Monday resulted in a verbal promise to have him on the road by Thursday if he brought the car in on Tuesday. On Tuesday, they could not take a look at the car until Wednesday. On Wednesday, it was going to take until Friday because a part needed to be ordered in. On Friday, they had the wrong the part and the car would be ready on Saturday morning. Saturday resulted in 1 missed phone call with no message. When the call was returned within 5 minutes, there was no response. Phone calls had also been made every 30 minutes from 7 AM until 3 PM with no one answering the phone. My son finally walked to the Car Shop to find out it was closed until Monday. The end result, so far, is 4 extra days in Rexburg, a stranded younger brother in Utah who was supposed to ride home with him, and still no car. Also, no place to stay as he is already out of his apartment. read more
