They will over charge you for repairs. $1600.00 more than a dealership. Also charge you for work that was never performed

We are writing this review due to our disappointment in our recent visit to grease monkey. My…read morehusband took our car to get an oil change and asked them to check our brakes. I want to preface that we asked for a brake check because my husband drives over teton pass for work everyday so we wanted to make sure they were in the safe level. We did not ask for a brake check because we were experiencing any issues with our brakes. We received a call and were informed our back brakes were running into the low yellow zone so we asked them to replace them. Not once during this call were we notified of any issues with our brakes. We received another call later and were informed by the employee that they (grease monkey) had broken a part on the brakes and that were ordering a replacement part and our car would still be done today. My husband and I were both on the call and can confirm that the worker said that it was their fault the piece was broken. They called back having issues finding the piece. They sent an employee to IF to get a piece and the employee came back with the wrong piece.... Their solution was to take a piece not for our car and shave it down. This did not seem like a safe or reasonable solution to this problem. In fact it seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen. Because we had no other option and absolutely needed our car back we agreed. My husband asked for a discount on the oil change and service when picking up our car. We thought this was reasonable given we were told a few hours and they took the entire day. Not to mentioned they informed us they broke the piece. We were then told by the employee that the piece was already broken when we brought our car in. They were giving us a free brake which was more than enough. To recap: we drove our car in that morning with no issues. They couldn't put our car back together because this piece was broken.... So how was it driving fine before if the piece was broken... we were told by THEIR employee they broke the piece they then went ahead and went as far as to lie to us and say the piece was already broken Not to mentioned if it was really and truly 100% broken prior to being brought in why were they "giving us a free brake" Very disheartening experience and absolutely unacceptable service. We now have to spend additional money to take our car to an auto body shop to have our breaks check because they offered an unsafe solution and fixed our car with the wrong piece. A little accountability would have gone a very long way. Asking for a discount or a free oil change was more than reasonable. My husband and I have been using grease monkey for years as well as our parents and rest of our family. They just lost many reoccurring customers. I'll be the first too say we probably should have gone elsewhere for something as important as brakes. But as a company you should not offer a service if you cannot handle that service. When a service as serious as this is done wrong it not only risks that customers safety but other people's safety who are driving on the same roads. Just something to think about.

Receptionist can be a little rude & impatient... from what I remember. However, this is why it's a year later. They work that they did probably cause damage to my transmission, they either pounded in my CV axle or forced it in some way or another, because it's chipped, which means there's most likely metal shaving in the transmission oil. I have to flush out my transmission oil. It did hold for a year though. But I'm upset that I thought I had the problem fixed & now it is not, & I have to fix their mistakes. Which I now have to pay for again. I'm currently at another shop hoping that they can undo the damage that Jason's caused to my transmission. They used the wrong size nuts & bolts & that weren't screwed in correctly, it was loose. The drive nut wasn't on there correctly. This current mechanic showed me where. Use at your own risk...

We went back to have them change our head gasket and back windshield wiper blade. Their quote price was about $1,000 cheaper than other places in Rexburg. We thought we got a great deal. They were quick and very friendly. Unfortunately, we went to a Subaru dealership about 8 months later because the front passenger airbag was recalled (2007 Outback with no accidents). They told us our head gasket is leaking. How can this happen when it wasn't even a year old? Now we're possibly spending another $3,000 or so to get it changed or we'll just have to junk it since we've already put way too much in it. It's very disheartening since we trusted Auto Aspects. Also, when we got our car back after taking it to them, our back windshield wiper was misaligned. We took it back and they fixed it, but it's still frustrating that it wasn't done correctly the first time. Update: I read the comment from Auto Aspects. They are correct, we were within our warranty. However, why would I return to a place when it wasn't done correctly the first time? We took it to the Subaru dealership instead. We trust the dealership's knowledge of or specific car and now we will only be taking our vehicles to dealerships. Lesson learned!

We frantically began calling around to see if any repair shops could get us in that day (as we were staying near Yellowstone). Green Light Automotive squeezed us in, met us outside as soon as we pulled up, and began diagnosing the issue. The owner of Green Light Automotive even used his personal vehicle (with car seats) to drive us into town to hang out at a restaurant while we waited for the repair to be done! Pricing was extremely fair (even less than what I paid for the initial thermostat repair at a shop local to me) and I cannot say enough good things about this company. Thank you so much!

That's where you'll find Jacob and David in Rexburg. First of all, Lance with cutthroat towing got my butt off the freeway, but Aaa wouldn't take the trailer. Lance got me to Randy with all season towing and he came and got the trailer and brought it over to green light auto. I was desperate traveling from Los Angeles to Montana to pick up my son and his car. Everyone could've easily gouged the crap out of me, and not one of them did. I guess that's the difference between California and Idaho. Jacob and David assessed the problem and it was a big job a lot of work and they did it for me the day I brought it in I think an angel sent me to them. To top it off Jacob's suggested I take a walk to the snake river. Absolutely beautiful it's not just the countryside it's the people that make this God's country. Eternally grateful to Jacob Lance, Randy and Nancy and I didn't get the dogs name lol.
