That wasnt the case with me because my roof isnt old enough to need replacement but it was leaking to my surprise. In one area only and just when it downpours. Rather then selling me a new roof he came to my house inspected the area found a small hole in my flashing and fixed it. I asked how much and he said nothing. Took 5 mins. You really think im gonna call someone else when it comes time to replace. Definitely would recommend this company to anyone who wants an honest roofer.

Which he was and is! We hired them to add insulation all around our home, remove old and install new siding, windows, gutters, fascia, doors. Hmmmm....what else can I have these guys do!!! They were great!!! Their team came to our house and were extremely professional and courteous! We added changes (more work) to the scope of work many times and they rolled with it. We did have an issue with the window manufacturer who could not make our front window correctly. JL came out multiple times to address the issue. Even after the manufacturer came out and measured they still did not get it correct! This was the window manufacturer NOT JL. JL stood behind their work and stayed with us until it was all done. JL had the window manufacturer remake the window in a new frame. That worked! If you are looking for a home improvement company filled with honest people , call JL Roofing and Siding! I appreciate Mauricio, Byron and their team so much!! They took a stressful situation and made it easy on me. By the way--their prices were phenomenal! I then go through my process of reviewing price, technical evaluation, value, etc. Rutter just redid my roof, and I am very happy with the results. They were the 2nd lowest price of 4 vendors, but their warranty and recommendation from my friend's dad were deciding factors. He's a retired general contractor, and when I told him I needed my roof replaced, this was the company he told me to go to. If you look at their reviews here, 1 is for "bad driving" and 2 are for missed appointments or miscommunication. The rest are all 5 stars. People love to knock a company online, but rarely vouch for them when they do a good job. When I went under contract with them, it took them 6 weeks to get their crew out here. Do you think that was because they don't work hard? Or is it because they have such a steady workload... On top of that, I was talking to the project manager and he mentioned he started doing doors and windows, I told him about a janky bedroom door that had never closed in the 3 years we'd lived here, and he took his tools and in 10 minutes fixed it for me. No extra charge, just a medium sized company, doing things the right way. I will be considering them for my next project, because apparently they do decks too. The owner then left the country and sent his father to do the work. Afterward, I received a call from a third party claiming to be the contractor, threatening to remove the scupper unless payment was made immediately -- completely unacceptable and alarming. The repair failed. I still have active water intrusion, and it has caused interior damage to my home. This company showed a serious lack of professionalism, oversight, and accountability. The workmanship did not resolve the problem, and the billing tactics were concerning. Homeowners - proceed with extreme caution! Verify who is performing the work, how payments are handled, and whether the company is operating to proper standards. ----------------------------- Your response contains multiple inaccuracies ... First, your claim that you "tried calling me multiple times" is false. You never called me. I have no missed calls, voicemails, or call logs from you after the work. What I do have is a saved voicemail left on 4/11/25, immediately after the work was performed. Second, your statement about nonpayment is also false. I paid a deposit on 4/04/25 and made final payment on 4/18/25. Both payments were made by credit card, and I have full documentation proving this. At no point was payment withheld "for over a month," and suggesting otherwise is simply untrue. Third, the call threatening to remove the scupper came from a third party claiming to be associated with you, and it occurred after the work was completed and while payment had already been made. Regardless of how you now characterize it, that call was inappropriate and alarming, and it happened under your company's name. Finally, the scupper installation you recommended did not resolve the leak. I continue to have water intrusion, and it has caused interior damage. Shifting blame to "the rest of the roof" does not change the fact that the specific repair you proposed and performed failed to correct the issue it was meant to fix. I am stating verifiable facts, supported by payment records and saved voicemail evidence. Any implication that I am misrepresenting events is incorrect. If you wish to discuss this further, it should begin with an acknowledgment of these facts.
