I had called the night before and asked if I needed an appointment for an oil change . The person in phone said Danny said no just come when we open at 8am. I arrived T 7.45am and I was 3rd in line . I left the car after Danny took my keys he told me it be 11/2 hours . When I left there were several people behind me . I came back 3 hours later and the car had not been started and had the hood open where I left it . He said he could not find the air filter which was an added but the oil change wasn't even started . Very disappointed by this small business this could of been completed with in 30 mins elsewhere . Don't recommend and all the other customers that came after me were taken care of so I just wasted my morning . read more

My mom has been going to Tri Auto for years and the service has been excellent everytime. I had to go recently to have my headlights replaced and Danny helped me immediately free of charge. They always finish up in a timely manner and communicate with me if it'll take longer. I'd definitely recommend this place. read more

Unfortunately, after years of being customers we have to go with another mechanic. Danny did a brake repair on one of our vehicles about 6 months ago(replaced pads and rotors). Danny told us to bring the car in for an estimate, because the same set of brakes he replaced were grinding. We specifically asked him to call or text us before doing any repairs. 4 hours later we get a notification saying the car is ready, with the total owed. No estimate, no explanation, nothing. We've brought our cars to Danny before so we didn't want to argue but we were extremely let down by his lack of customer service or care. I even told him, 6 months for a set of brakes with that amount of mileage is an extremely short period of time and he said it wasn't. Okay, I know enough about cars to know the pads should not need to be replaced every 6 months with less than 10k miles on them. He had no explanation as to why the exact same brakes needed to be replaced again. I'm assuming he used cheap parts to begin with. Either way it was clear he wanted the money over keeping the customer. So we'll call it square and be going to another local mechanic from now on. Unfortunate situation but avoid this place at all costs, he will work on your car without authorization. The work there is cheap is and quick but you'll be coming back for repairs more frequently. Not worth the headache. read more

Danny is the BEST!!! He worked on my 2000 Toyota Tacoma for about 10 years and my 2006 4Runner for another 6. He is always dependable, super great prices, and never recommends work that is unnecessary. I've taken my truck in before, scared that there was something wrong, and he has told me "it's just dirty down there. Clean it up." And sent me on my way. Danny Arteaga is the owner of Tri-Auto and has been changing my car oil for about eight years, among other major tune-ups to my Camry and my wife's Toyota Sienna. Notice the trend ;o) Danny is a Toyota Certified Master Technician who decided to leave Toyota and start his own business. He also specializes on Lexus and Honda vehicles. He will take care of you and your car. He changes oil, filter and disposes for $22.25. Not bad if you ask me. He did a major 100,000 mile tune up to my Camry for about $200. That included spark plugs, radiator fluid flush and install, transmission oil and filter change and other things. I saved $$$. Danny isn't those kind of mechanics who wants to rip you off. Danny will tell you the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. That is why he is so busy with repeat clients. His business is all about word of mouth. His place of business isn't much to look at but that isn't what matters, it's his honesty and good work. He does have some cool trophies and medals from all the marathon running he does. Howzit! I've been coming to Danny since the 90s and he "the" mechanic to bring your cars to. He's honest, got character, great integrity, and an avid runner. You can tell by all the medals in the office. He never charges for unnecessary repairs like other shops. His prices are reasonable. People drive from other cities to be serviced by him and his staff. I've trusted my vehicles with him and you can too. I'm gonna miss him and his service when I'm gone to CO. Tip...since he's so busy working on your car, bring him some organic trail mix. This is my go to mechanic shop! I don't go anywhere but here unless it's obviously things they don't work on. I have a 3rd gen 4Runner that I love so much and before I started taking my car here, I couldn't trust any mechanic shops, I'd get something fixed and something else would go bad or lots of places would over charge or not know how long it would take (leaving me clueless of how long my waiting time would be). Here at Tri, Danny (owner) and his whole team take care of my car and will tell me truthfully how much I'll be spending, how long it'd take, and what exactly is wrong. They specialize mostly in Toyota/Lexus and Honda/Acura from what I know. Danny is passionate about his job and that's what makes me trust him knowing my car is perfectly fine in his care. My car's condenser suddenly went out during a winter week when it just so happened to be warm (go figure LA weather). I took my car to the dealer who quoted me an exorbitant amount to replace the condenser as it was considered "outside influence" and not covered under warranty. I decided to follow the recommendations of various people and dropped in to see Danny for a quote. Danny and his team were very patient and checked out my car thoroughly, looking to see how they would go about replacing the condenser. Both Danny and his team took their time and were willing to explain the process and answer all of my questions. The cost of repair was significantly less than the dealership. Danny estimated it would take half a day to complete the job -- because of my schedule, I had to figure out a plan before leaving my car. I was able to bring my car back in right before closing and anticipated the replacement to be completed by end of the next day. Lo and behold, I get a call from Danny the next morning at 10 am letting me know my car was ready!!! Danny and the team at Tri Auto exceeded all of my expectations and made me feel extremely comfortable. He and his team were honest and straightforward with everything. They were also very efficient, even though they still take the time to make sure you, as the customer, feel comfortable with all questions answered. This place is cheap for a reason. I needed my headlight ballast changed and they instructed me to buy the wrong one. Instead of telling me to buy a new one, they went ahead and put the wrong unit in my car. In order to do so, they made incisions in the unit which left it vulnerable to water damage. I was told that I would have to get a whole new headlight replacement for $1000! Do not trust this place, the reviews are misleading. read more
