The crew was "Team 3" which did such great work. Less than one day to complete with attention to every detail and excellent clean up. The price was very reasonable considering the amount of pruning, trimming and tree shaping they performed. I wish I knew about this company years ago.

Great service. I had a large maple tree removed with stump grinding and removal of some roots…read morethat had taken over the yard around the tree. They also pruned the neighbors apple tree that was dropping a 5 gallon bucket daily of split apples in my yard. I have not had one apple end up in my yard since their great efforts. They also trimmed the canopy of a maple in my front yard that delivery trucks kept hitting. Everything was professional from the estimate to their workers arriving on time. I had another estimate that was a couple hundred dollars cheaper but decided these guys were going to use more modern methods of using a lift to get to the high branches. Their clean up job was complete I found a few leaves and small twigs in the yard but for taking an entire tree down they did an amazing job with the haul away and clean up. I would not hesitate to call them in the future if I have need of more tree work.

Very unprofessional crew. Older guy and younger guy that came that morning to take down remaining…read morearborvitae bushes that were damaged in a fire from my neighbor's yard. First they were an hour late, the owner, Daniel, did call and said they would be about 30 minutes late. When they did show up the 2 guys are pretty much just standing around. Then the older guy comes to tell me they were leaving, they would be back another day. By the way both guys were Hispanic, which I don't mind, but they didn't speak English very well. So there was a bit of a language problem. The owner again calls us to say the same thing, that they were having an issue and wanted to come back another time. I told the 2 guys to just leave, I had had enough of them. Daniel calls again and says he will come and talk to the. So he comes by, talks to his 2 employees, then talks to me. He explains that they are having a problem getting along right now so he thinks it's okay for them to blow my project off for another time. I said if it was a true emergency I would understand. But just the fact that they were arguing doesn't, in my opinion, warrant them saying it's an emergency and they need to leave. Daniel did talk them into staying to do the work. They did cut down the rest of the arborvitae bushes, used a machine to grind the stumps per our contract. However, they did not clean-up the bed where the bushes were per the contract. And they broke 3-4 bricks that edged the garden bed. They never checked with us before they left to make sure we were satisfied with their job. I would never hire them again or recommend this outfit. The owner, Daniel, is a very slick talker. The company has been around supposedly for 25 years, however, Daniel doesn't look old enough to have this company that long. So not sure the whole history behind this outfit.

Based on the numerous five star reviews posted here I'm sure I would be quite happy with the work they do. Unfortunately, MTC was the highest bidder (by far) so I really had to go with a more economical choice. Found a small, local company with a great arborist who bid well under 1/2 what MTC was asking. So, if you are price conscious you might want to look at obtaining several quotes. If your prime objective is great service from staff and a great outcome from the crew who does the work, I'm sure you will be happy with these guys. Even though I wound up choosing a different company I felt that anything short of a five star review would be inappropriate since I was totally happy with the treatment I received from everyone working there.

I got a referral to Honyl from Linda Rossi, an experienced Realtor in Portland, Oregon, who told me that she had successfully used Honl's services many times in her business. Chad Honl himself came out promptly to size the situation up. I found him professional, knowledgeable, and easy to deal with--and so I hired him on the spot. For me, competence is the most important consideration in taking down part or all of a tree. His crew came out a few days later with a wood chipper. They quickly cut back my tree and saved it, at least for a few more years. The 3 person crew was pleasant to deal with, worked quickly, and did a fast clean-up. After this excellent experience, I will be calling Honl Tree Care in the future if I need tree service.

The work we needed done wasn't major, but it was definitely time to get it done. A couple small…read moredead trees to be removed, a couple things to be trimmed near the house, and our maple. Maples are fine trees, but this one was snatching at my hair and draping itself over the trellises for my container garden. That's a little too snuggly for a large tree. So we called Treekeeper and they gave us an estimate - and also evaluated whether any of our other large trees were a risk for anything, which they fortunately weren't - no attempt to charge for the evaluation as some other services wanted to do. Then they came back and did the work - actually a bit earlier than anticipated, as they had an opening come up the week before we'd expected. Definitely can't complain about that! The maple is not only trimmed well above head height now, but it looks much nicer than it did before. They didn't stop at the letter of my request ("get the maple out of my trellises, please," I think was more or less my inelegant phrasing), but logically extended it to making the tree look, not just as good as before, but better than before. Next time I need this sort of work done, they will be the first and probably only call I make!
