He was thorough and talked through the different aspects of the job and helped me understand the scope. I felt prepared and the estimate was fair. The level of consideration led me to select Wind Thin, even though two other companies had lower estimates. I believed that Wind Thin had a better overall expectation of the job, so I went with them. On the day, the arborist crew were friendly, careful, skilled, and quick. The total matched the estimate and I will definitely use them again.

Jose, owner, paid me a visit shortly after I entered a request with Angi, he shows up and within an hour, I get a good estimate (other companies took 2-5 days to send me an estimate) and an hour later he asked if I could review the estimate and to begin the project since Portland was iced in. I had 4 different crews for various aspects of the project, each team was well coordinated, communicated within the team and with me as the customer. They were safe, efficient, treated my property like their own, avoiding any further damage to an already huge mess of tree due to the January 2024 winter storm around Woodland, WA. Due to the multiple aspects of the project, multiple tree removal, his estimate was half as much as other companies. A great company that I would highly recommend for any of your tree removal projects.

After talking directly via phone to the city tree inspector that was here I was told that the…read moreprimary reason for the denial of the permit was expiration due to lack of timely feedback from Evergreen regarding questions that were asked of them. I do not know the questions they were waiting on but I was told that if I want the sidewalk fixed I need to tear out the sidewalk first and THEN ask for a root inspection to see if the offending roots can be cut out and if not then a tree removal permit can be filed again. On a separate note: I would advise anyone thinking of planting a street tree in Portland to reconsider due to the long term expense of dealing with the inevitable sidewalk damage and upkeep. That $75 per tree at the time from Friends of Trees has cost me thousands so far and will cost thousands more in concrete repair and is never ending. Once you plant one you can't remove it without replacing it and starting the cycle again.

Little did I know my review two years ago foretold the slow motion death of my 50 year old pine tree in my front yard. I did some checking around and it seems many competitors in this business have trouble returning calls and keeping appointments... not so Jason at Arbor Art. What else can I say but when any contractor does what he promises on the phone, it's a good indication he will DO as promised on the job. In my case, I wanted to keep (split and stack to dry) MOST of the wood for my wood stove, so they cut the larger pieces as agreed and hauled off the brush, limbs, twigs and debris. They did everything as agreed, when agreed and at the price agreed. And that price was far less than the Emergency room, doctor's bill, physical therapy, rehabilitation and property damage had I attempted the job on my own. Oh, and no emergency calls to PGE or NW Natural gas either. Now I just need to convince a couple of my neighbors to hire them to cut a coupe of trees that seem prefer to drop most of their leaves in my yard.

It's got to be Roger who first pulled a massive cedar off my house-- and two years later, took down another cedar that was leaning precariously over my neighbor's house shortly before she was going to have her second baby.
