Had two trees that had been severely damages by the recent storms. Bud's Tree Service was recommended by a friend. Pete (owner) came out to survey the damage and explained what needed to be done. Bid was reasonable and they were able to get out within a couple weeks. His crew were some of the hardest workers I've seen. It was a tricky job based on the trees being next to houses. Their clean-up was better than I something I would have done myself. I would highly recommend them and will use again when needed. read more

Excellent service and quality Pete (the owner of Bud's) is exceptionally attentive and thorough. In addition to doing very nice work, he goes the extra mile for you. Despite being very busy in the last days of summer, he bailed us out of a tough situation at the last minute--we''ve been waiting to repaint our house and the painter announced, with no advance warning, that our project was finally going to start. He needed all of our trees and vines cut away from the house within 48 hours. Pete gave textbook-perfect service: 1. He remembered my house and even what kind of trees I had--6 years after he was last here. 2. He crammed us in to his schedule with a crew of 2 even though he was booked solid. 3. He came by to supervise the job personally 4. He did not charge extra for this level of service 5. He noticed that one of our trees had been mis-pruned (by someone else in the past), with an ugly stump jutting out into mid air-- and he plans to stop by next week and remove the stump. That means he took time to inspect our many trees even though this was a rush job. 6. He was very discrete in discussing said stump--although it was obviously done by another arborist. No snarky comments. He's very professional. 7. He answered his phone every time--unlike many contractors who are hard to reach. Bud's Expert Tree Care is the best I've found. read more

I have used these guys regularly for over 10 years to trim some trees that are near/overhanging my home. Overall very happy. Always walk through first to review work, and they've always done exactly what we agreed on. Offer to do work days they have other work nearby keep transportation cost low. Do not recommend their service at all! Asked Pete for a "free" quote on cutting down a tree between the next door neighbor's house and mine. He said that it would take a day. "You'll be surprised how much we can do in a day with 3 guys". He gave me a quote based on a "day" rate (in other words hourly). I took his word. Well guess what, they only cut down half the tree! I sure was "surprised" by how much the 3 guys did in a day!! Now, if I want the whole tree cut down, I will have to pay for another day!! A classic bait-and-switch! Definitely will NOT use them again. I should remember, nothing is for "free". read more

We had Bud's come and prune several of our trees last spring. The conifers did fine but we had a young cherry tree that completely lost all of its leaves right after the pruning. I called Buds and they said it might have Blight. They did not offer to come back out and take a look, basically were we were on our own :-(. It was just coincidental that it had leaves and then a week later after the pruning it did not have leaves. That tree has since died even though we consulted with the nursery and did everything they said to do. We have a larger weeping cherry that seemed to be healthy so I thought it was just an isolated incident. Now our Weeping Cherry is sick After paying them to prune all of our trees, I realized that I should've asked if they clean their equipment in between customers. Some Arborists do and some don't. Very disappointed. I hope we can save our big weeping cherry tree! read more

Our mammoth silver maple split off a large branch grouping. When the city cleaned up the branches and debris, we talked to the city forester about what to do about the tree. He sent us a list of city-approved arborists and we contacted Pete at Buds because others in our SE neighborhood recommended Buds. Pete came out and we discussed what to do. We wanted to save the tree -- it's a beautiful old tree that has provided shade for decades. Pete and his crew did a masterful job thinning the tree, which we hope will keep it alive and thriving for many years to come. Highly recommended! read more
