The order is for delivery between 10:15AM -12PM

This review is for the firewood delivery service. Recently I ordered one cord of firewood to be delivered between 10:15am- 12:30pm (see screen shot for the order). I even called couple of days ahead to make sure that everything is good with the order. On the day of the delivery, we were woken up by a loud noise at 6:30 AM--the delivery truck has dumped the wood in front of the garage. Both of our cars got stuck in the garage, and as a result my husband did not make to the drive to Seattle for a meeting and I did not make to work on time. This is all due to the lack of communication and irresponsible behavior of the company. I called the company several times without anyone answering during business hours, so I left a message. It's been a week and I have not heard anything from them. Apparently they do not care about small customers like us who want to support local business. This is the worst experience ever and I am very disappointed with this company.

We found Dean's by accident on Yelp when searching for rock/gravel on a Sunday afternoon. Dean's was the only place open that had exactly what we needed. Smaller lot but they have done an awesome job with presentation. They have a little lemonade stand that was not open at the time but I'm excited to check it out this spring/summer. They also sell wood for burning. Different kinds. They has a small fire going when we got there and it smelled great! Friendly and polite service.

We recently had firewood delivered from Deans. We could not be happier with the whole experience!! From the folks that handle the busy phones to the gentleman that delivered the wood, the customer service was above and beyond! Everyone was super friendly and informative. It was our first time ordering firewood and they answered all my questions and made great recommendations. When the truck showed up the driver happily backed in our driveway to make it easier for us to move and stack in our garage. The wood was exactly what we wanted and it even smelled amazing!! I will definitely be ordering from them again! They also sell landscaping materials and soil. Deans, you can count on seeing us this spring for all or garden needs!! Thank you!! Highly recommend!!

Twisted leaves due to herbicide damage

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE! I purchased white lightening in mid-May. Last week I top dressed my best performing tomato plant with white lightening. This week it is showing weird deformities consistent with herbicide damage, as are other tomatoes I planted directly in white lightening last week. I have talked to many neighbors who used this product who are having similar issues on a much larger scale. This is a nightmare. Find another place to get soil that isn't contaminated.

Pesticide damaged plants

I have been buying from Deans for 8 years and this year is the last time. I ordered 4 yards of white lightening on March 30th. My plants started to show signs of pesticide damage 11 days after planting. The soil Is being collected by an agricultural investigator because of how many people reported signs of this damage. They are not organic they do not know where their manure comes from. They do not test or keep samples of their soil. They have not reached out to the hundreds possibly thousands of people they delivered and sold this soil to. At 70 a yard you better know what's in your damn soil. I'm so fussy and angry. I had to destroy my entire garden and dig it out. If your tomato plants are twisting abnormally or you are seeing anything strange I encourage you to report this information stop more people from buying this soil. Shame on Deans my babies play in this garden and this was our source of food

So communicative and helpful. Love the quality of the wood (mixed woods) delivered for my outdoor fire pit. Will definitely be re-ordering.

I realized I needed help after several hours in the hot sun. After getting bids from three other gardening providers on Yelp, I ended up choosing Joseph. And am I glad I did! He came out and after walking through my overgrown pollinator garden, he gave me a quote which was pretty much consistent with the others. Big difference? He communicates well, he is ethical, he shows up on time, works hard, cleans up afterward. He is also a nice man who cares about the quality of what he does. Joseph is knowledgeable about many plants and trees. To his credit, when he encountered one he wasn't familiar with, he set about educating himself so he would do things right. He pruned my Mock Orange, Oregon Grapes, my Japanese Maple, a wildly out of control espaliered Apple tree, thinned out some fading seasonals, and pulled up a dying azalea I'd tried, but failed, to bring back. Then pulled out the overgrown weeds from my curb and sidewalk to make it all look more tidy. I'll be calling Joseph again, absolutely. You should, too. My before photos aren't uploading after three tries. Hmmmm. Trust me though, things were out of control.

I feel really bad about upsetting him so much but at the same time I feel like he lacked the patience to see past an initial misunderstanding, followed up by an earnest attempt by me trying to understand the logistics of the project that I was asking about. He even went on to say I was disrespecting him for stating that it may just have been a large undertaking. I meant no disrespect I just meant to express my ignorance in the field and I was trying to make light of the fact that I'm no expert and I don't know the feasibility of what I'm asking for. 1 star for making me feel 2 inches tall and storming off on me for having trouble understanding Braden his inability to remain patient and walk me through it or just put it on the back burner and say I can show you what I mean later in the design if you wish to proceed. We have a 5-zone sprinkler system with a combination of drip lines and sprinklers in the front and backyard. It's a funky arrangement that needed a serious upgrade. His crew (Marvin and Jose) are miracle workers! They are real problem solvers who managed to reroute some existing sprinkler lines, fix several hidden leaks and provide more water coverage in several zones. Marvin and Jose are a joy to watch. They really enjoy their work and it shows. Marvin will even sing while he's putting in new drip lines or tying off others, and nothing seems to faze him. Both men are polite, courteous and appreciative of drinks and snacks while they work. They say "Thank you, so much" every time. After spending the entire day at our home, we tested the system and everything worked well, but there were a few dry spots I noticed the next day. Dan came by today to collect payment and I showed him the areas where water wasn't quite reaching and he said, "No problem." Marvin and Jose will come back to make a few adjustments -- at no extra charge. Best of all, the new parts they install are guaranteed for 5 years instead of one. Who does that? A year after implementing her thoughtful design, we're thrilled to say her ideas have far exceeded our expectations, and the local birds and bees seem to agree. What we appreciated most was Ali's ability to create a plan that allowed us to implement much of it ourselves. This hands-on approach not only saved us money but also helped us learn about our land and develop our beginner-level permaculture skills. We've achieved a 90% success rate with the plants we've planted, and the 10% that didn't thrive taught us valuable lessons we needed to learn--an incredibly worthwhile investment. Ali's design was also adaptable to our budget and bandwidth, letting us break the project into manageable steps. Next year, we're excited to start our chicken coop and continue bringing this vision to life. Every day, we fall more in love with our garden--it's a peaceful, thriving space that has enriched our lives in ways we never imagined. I hired Green Zone to dig a ~45' trench to a shed in my backyard at 2' deep for electrical conduit. He initially bid the job at one day and $810. I made the mistake of assuming he had a trencher and other equipment for this task. He showed up on day 1 with a gas auger for post holes, not a trencher. After a couple hours on day 1, he said the cost would actually be $1500 , nearly double the original cost because of some unexpected difficulty with rocks and other debris. He spent a ton of time trying to get the auger to start/restart throughout the day. Of course he wasn't able to finish that day, and said he'd come back with electric tools more appropriate for the job. On the second day, he came back with the same gas auger, though it seemed to be in somewhat better running order. About halfway through that day, he said he wouldn't be able to dig a straight trench because of debris. He eventually got someone to bring an electric saw he used to remove this debris, to his credit. At the end of the second day, he said he was going to come back with a mini excavator to finish the job. On the third day, he did come back with one, but it was extremely large for the space and resulted in a completely destroyed yard surface, a damaged structure in the yard, and concerns about the shed foundation.
