Anyone who can create fall-apart tender brisket has my vote! I loved the meat sauce, elote street corn side, and banana crème dessert served in a cinnamon dusted taco bowl. The owners and staff were friendly and made the visit very enjoyable and worth the trip.

Fantastic TexMex BBQ in little old Jacksboro, less than an hour from Ft.Worth. Brisket, Ribs, Sausage, Turkey and Sides are all Phenomenal. Service was Fantastic, you won't find better anywhere! Great spot that's bigger than it looks, right on the Courthouse Square. Treviño's Craft Smokehouse is a BBQ Destination!!

Those cowboy beans were great! It easily fed the 4 of us for about $60.00. Thats 15 bucks a head....not bad considering a combo meal at a fast food joint can hit you for 12-15 bucks now. I live in Washington but I'm from Sunset....I must say...we do not get this caliber of brisket up here on Whidbey Island. I could eat this everyday!!. Thanks Juan. Incredible meal!

After an early morning flight to DFW, we were halfway through the two-hour drive to the north-Texas…read moretown of Wichita Falls when lunch sounded like a good idea. Initially, I said that I was in the mood for a lighter lunch, but when we read some of the many 5-star reviews for Juan and Allie's BBQ that said things like "I will always come here whenever I am within a six hour drive", I changed my mind. So we pulled off the highway and about a half-mile into the small town of Sunset. I realized we were at the spot when the faint smell of wood smoke trickled to my nose from the side of a weatherbeaten building with a "Backyard BBQ" banner tacked to the front. Walking inside, we were greeted by nods from a table of men in work boots and jeans, and then promptly welcomed by Allie herself. She indicated the day's menu on the board and helpfully answered our questions. The inside dining area was comfortable and homey, even if like the outside it had seen better days. Sagging ceiling tiles and duct tape repairs told the story of getting by and focusing on the important things. It is a real family-run operation, with Juan smoking the meats and Allie making the sides, along with waiting tables. On the day we visited at least, it was just the two of them working. Of course I had to order brisket since it was Texas, but the sides presented a more challenging decision. After hearing Allie's description of their cowboy beans, I chose those and the potato salad. She disappeared into the back room, and soon returned with a large metal tray containing slices of brisket and Texas-sized portions of sides. The brisket was beautifully smoked and sliced, and flavor was perfect. The only deduction I have to make was due to it being a little less tender than I would expect from a great brisket. It went down easily despite having said I was not in the mood for a pile of meat, but I did have to make use of my knife a little more than usual. The sides were big on home-cooked flavor. In both, I noticed a big difference from typical southern or big-name barbecue joints in that they were not overly sweet but relied on more earthy seasonings for their taste. They were excellent complements to the beef, and deserve some recognition of their own. After our meal was done, we chatted with Juan outside for a minute, where we learned some of the details mentioned above. It would have been cool to hear more about their story, but they had work to do and we had to get back on the road. So we pulled back onto the highway, having experienced a friendly welcome to Texas and a satisfying first meal in the Lone Star State.

Beyond the cleanliness, the atmosphere is warm and exceptionally welcoming. The staff is genuinely friendly, and the owners go out of their way to ensure every guest feels truly taken care of. It is rare to find a place that balances such professional upkeep with a personal, "home-away-from-home" feel. Highly recommended for anyone in the area looking for a quality experience. The food is great. The plates are small ( which is fine ) but it would have been nice to have a bit of room to cut up my food , and I'd add a second side to anything that's not a sandwich, but even with just one side ( steaks get two ) you don't leave hungry. ( extra sides are 4 a piece) The only other suggestion is a basket of homemade bread would be perfect for this establishment . It's a southern food , steaks and gravy type place. A basket of bread would make it perfect . Great place though . We would go out of our way to stop again.

The kolaches are fresh, delicious and some of the best we have ever eaten. They have a nice large parking area. You walk inside are greeted by a smiling employee. We ordered, ate and talked to several people that work and run this great Barbecue place. While waiting to order BBQ one of the employees was walking around giving out a few free breakfast tacos! Wow, what a treat. When we finally ordered our food we got food to eat there and food to bring back home. Let me just say that is the sign of great BBQ if it's good on site to eat and good when you warm it up at home. Dayne's BBQ was and is some of the best we have had yet. We had the Trinity platter, the bacon brisket, broccoli grape salad and flamin hot street corn. The Trinity came with moist smoke ring brisket along with pork ribs and JALAPENO HAVARTI sausage.
