I've tried multiple times to eat here, but they were out of meat. I understand there is only so much you can BBQ, and if you run out, well, you can't just light up the grill and cook some more on the spot. I really hoped this was a good sign. Unfortunately, it was not. I ordered the pork with coleslaw and green beans. The pork was bland and almost as it was rinsed off. I know, strange, but that's the only way I could describe it. All I can say was the coleslaw saved it because it was decent, and I mixed it with the pork, some BBQ sauce, and chopped up raw onions. Made it so I could somewhat enjoy it. Our party had 11 people, we were there celebrating so no-one wanted to be the party proper, but I could tell by the looks (and the subsequent conversation outside). My brothers brisket was dry and, for the most part, flavorless as well. My sil ordered the sausage with brisket. She had the same opinion and joked about the sausage being ok but that they didn't even make it there! My last complaint was the banana pudding, I've tasted better banana pudding at hospitals. Clearly, it was packaged, and the wafers were scarse. On the good note, the bread was or seemed fresh out of the oven, and I enjoyed it with honey. I tried using the butter, but I swear that had been whipped up and thinned somehow, too. I realize butter has gotten expensive, but it didn't have any flavor either. Regarding the facilities, I didn't use the restroom, so I can't comment on that. There was plenty of parking, and the service was what I like to describe as typical of this small town... just enough to get away with it. If your culinary requirements AREN'T very high, patronize at your own risk. I won't be visiting again soon, since there are other places in the county that do better BBQ read more

This BBQ joint is worth the short trip to Bridgeport Texas Y'all! I've been here several times and I am never disappointed with my meal. The meat is delicious, so tender and moist. I will admit I mainly choose the Brisket, but I have had almost everything in the menu at one point or another and I keep coming back. Rounding off my meal I enjoy the classic sides with my BBQ, like baked beans, macaroni, potatoes salad and the cole slaw, but again I have had several other sides and they are all good quality. (On cold days the stew is a real treat!) But Now let's chat about their homemade yeast rolls. Fresh! Hot from the oven! Butter glazed! Yeast Rolls...........OMG! After you get your food and claim your table, they bring out these piping hot golden gifts of pure Sunshine. I sit and watch the tray as it leaves the kitchen on the way to my table and all I can do is watch and drool. The fragrance of those rolls is almost to much for a fat man to bare. The wait staff places the hot roll on my plate and smiles politely and says: " how many do you want?" WHAT???? I can have more than one? I'm In Heaven!!!!! So with my yeast rolls nestled beside my Q it's time to enjoy my grub....and I do! I always enjoy myself at Raymond's , you never leave his place hungry. Hi there, we ordered a large order ($94) on July 16, at 3 pm. The food was not great compared to our last big order just a few weeks before....the rolls were hard and I know had to be at least 2 days old. We ordered turkey, sausage, hot links, ribs and sliced beef. The turkey was the best of all but much saltier than the time before. The ribs were so dry that there was hardly any moisture and the bone was shiny, no fat left in the meat like the succulent ribs we ate the time before. The brisket was so dry, we had to dredge it through the bbq sauce not to choke. Sausage was pretty good, the hot links seemed over cooked as well. Our first time to order the hot links. We ordered potato salad, Mac n' cheese, and baked beans. Sides were great tasting except Mac n cheese is bland as heck, I'm not a big salter, but it def requires salt and pepper. My main complaint is that when ordering a big order, the person taking the order should tell the customer, "our ribs aren't exactly fresh right now...but the brisket is!" Or "we're out of rolls, but we can make some fresh if you'll give us an extra 1/2-1 hr to pick up your order". We feel duped into buying day old rolls, heat lamped meats, at regular price! We love Raymond's and I've been ordering from your restaurant since working at Senior Care there in Bridgeport in 2008. This is a time when restaurants must stand out to survive and it pains me to have to complain about your food. please please rectify this poor quality. read more

We have been coming several times to this restaurant over the last 18+ years and always liked the food. But today, we experienced a very disturbing situation while dining with my grandchildren, son in Law, and his dad who was visiting from out of town. My daughter was not able to join us for dinner and we took home some of the food for her and I went up to the counter and asked for some bbq sauce to take. The server lady had a very strange, reluctant look on her face and said: quote: we normally do not allow people to take any extra sauce home, so please don't let anyone see that. I was very surprised and even offered to pay for the extra sauce, but she said just keep it quiet. I could not believe that comment...we spent quite a bit for all the dinners we purchased and then received that comment asking for some BBQ sauce to take back home??? While on a mini-vacation with the family, the kids requested BBQ. We found this place after a quick search. It's not much to look at on the outside, but don't let that dissuade you! The quality of the food was pretty darn good. We tried ribs, ham, turkey, beef, sausage, coleslaw, and corn. Amazingly, we only had a little of the sausage and ribs left (which will make a delicious breakfast in the morning!). The customer service was also 5 stars. They were friendly and accommodating, even when our toddler became a little noisy. The final thing that we enjoyed was another who was friendly and struck up a convo with us about the food -- and about potty training, ha. We will definitely return, and recommend that anyone stop in to patronize this little place while in Bridgeport! read more
