As they say, if you have to ask the price, you cannot afford it. Yes, the steaks are market price, but everything else is on the menu. After a nice drive through the country, you better believe it is going to be overpriced! $50.00 out the door for a catfish and steak finger basket. The Texas Stop Sign does that for $17.00 and the food is HOT and crispy. The fries were not crispy, and neither were the steak fingers. Yes, we had asked to clarify before the order. The catfish was very bland, and unseasoned. We asked for extra gravy, and did not receive it. I ordered hush puppies with my dinner, and it was brought as an appetizer for the entire table. The wait staff here is very good, and super friendly! They have high tops, low tops, and a full bar. We were looking for the best catfish, and after reading lots of YELP reviews (most of which had no friends, and no photos), we decided to check it out! If you are looking for a fun hole in the wall, in the middle of nowhere... this is a great place. My favorites are probably the pork chops and amazing Mac n cheese. Tim's is a small family owned and operated business and they are so good and attentive to customers. I even asked her secret to how I'm the world she makes her Mac n cheese taste sooo good. She told me her ancient Chinese secret, but I shall not share, and probably never try to make it myself. Very good bbq, if places like Pecan Lodge didn't exist then this would be higher. Make no mistake, you will be getting good bbq. I had brisket that was sliced thick with good bark and tender meat. I wouldn't say it was the juiciest but it could stand alone without sauce. First time patron. Today i was in seafood mood so it was catfish and shrimp. It was really good. Really enjoyed the loaded brisket fries. And yes its BYOB. A soda fountain would be a nice addition but its ok. They have cooler. Just bring ur own drinks. Avocado vinegarette was really good!!! So yes its off the road a bit but its worth the drive. This was our first visit, but definitely will not be our last. I had the pulled pork, fresh fried okra and sweet beans...my husband had Sliced Brisket, Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage, fresh cole slaw and Mac-n-cheese. It was so very good and everything was wonderful. We topped it off with homemade banana pudding. They even had homemade sauces as well. When I mention we would be back because I wanted to try their Catfish & Shrimp, the owner brought out some fresh fried catfish for us to try. Now where can you find a restaurant that does that. Ordered last night for pick up. Ordered the fish and shrimp plates . Husband popped in and brought it home , we were so disappointed . Their idea of loaded potato was mashed in a cup with two little containers of sour cream bacon bits and a teaspoon full of cheese. The Mac and cheese was runny and had no flavor. No hush puppies or biscuits . The fish and shrimp were decent, a little too crispy but edible but I feel like it was definitely overpriced for what we received . We gave them 3 chances but sadly won't be ordering from them again read more

The portions are very large. Pork ribs and potato salad was very good. Slice brisket was a bit overly salted but tender. We got a to go plate and my wife chopped up the brisket into chopped with sauce and put on bun was delicious. I'd recommend this place as its a real Texan entrepreneur. The food was excellent, the service was excellent, the atmosphere was appropriate for out in the country and the prices were excellent. You will not regret paying Tim's Barbecue and Fish a visit. Finding this jewel was well worth the drive. We had the brisket, pulled pork and jalapeño cheese sausage that was too die for. The sides were all fresh and delicious. No need for us to go to Lockhart for good barbecue anymore. Who would have known this was in our own backyard. Can't say enough good things about this establishment. read more

Atmosphere is comfortable, but dining rooms are small and chairs and tables are plastic. Food was average and served on styrofoam plates with plastic forks and knives. Very friendly owners and staff, this is a new business with owners who don't seem to have a lot of experience in the restaurant business. When asked for a cup of ice for a soda which was hot out of a refrigerator we were told that they had no ice in the premises! Therefore, no iced tea, just sodas and water. I hope it will get better as time goes by because it's in small town with few restaurants. A little pricy for frozen fish and frozen shrimp, I'll try the barbecue next time. read more

This is a great family owned business. As soon as you walk in they treat you like family. The hard part is choosing what to eat. The food is alright . very small place. They seem to always be out of quite a few things on the menu. But the biggest problem is being overcharged. At least 3 times now we have been charged for two drinks at 2.79 a piece when only one drink was consumed! I have even told her we only had one drink but she continues to charge for two. So they have lost us as customers and I advise everyone to check your receipt for overcharges! read more
