Low top tables

As they say, if you have to ask the price, you cannot afford it. Yes, the steaks are market price, but everything else is on the menu. After a nice drive through the country, you better believe it is going to be overpriced! $50.00 out the door for a catfish and steak finger basket. The Texas Stop Sign does that for $17.00 and the food is HOT and crispy. The fries were not crispy, and neither were the steak fingers. Yes, we had asked to clarify before the order. The catfish was very bland, and unseasoned. We asked for extra gravy, and did not receive it. I ordered hush puppies with my dinner, and it was brought as an appetizer for the entire table. The wait staff here is very good, and super friendly! They have high tops, low tops, and a full bar. We were looking for the best catfish, and after reading lots of YELP reviews (most of which had no friends, and no photos), we decided to check it out! If you are looking for a fun hole in the wall, in the middle of nowhere... this is a great place. Not the best steak fingers or catfish in the county. 3 STARS (2 stars +1 because we love to Shop Local)

Just happened up on this place, glad we did, service was great food was as well, will definitely be back

Very good bbq, if places like Pecan Lodge didn't exist then this would be higher. Make no mistake, you will be getting good bbq. I had brisket that was sliced thick with good bark and tender meat. I wouldn't say it was the juiciest but it could stand alone without sauce. The Restaraunt is located in a nice and quaint country backroad, and is adorn with old keepsakes that give it a nice Ol time feel. The staff was friendly and attentive!

Update...nearly 2 years and still good Take your own adult beverages and get some of the best brisket possibly in North Texas. Can wait to go back

First time patron. Today i was in seafood mood so it was catfish and shrimp. It was really good. Really enjoyed the loaded brisket fries. And yes its BYOB. A soda fountain would be a nice addition but its ok. They have cooler. Just bring ur own drinks. Avocado vinegarette was really good!!! So yes its off the road a bit but its worth the drive. Im goin back for sure when im in a bbq mood. And the servers were very polite and always were checking on us. Thanks for a great sunday lunch!!!!

Delicious brisket, sweet beans & pulled pork

It's not always easy to find a kids' meal that's actually good quality, but they nailed it! The mahi and shrimp tacos were absolutely outstanding. The fish was perfectly cooked, the shrimp were juicy, and all the toppings complemented everything beautifully. Every bite was fresh and full of flavor. And let's talk about the okra -- hands down the BEST okra ever! Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and not greasy at all. I could've ordered a second batch just for myself! Great food, great atmosphere, and we'll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Hits and a few misses…read more Fate brought us here. We were in the "neighborhood" and my sister needed to use the restroom so I decided to check out the menu. We have been here before but couldn't remember anything about the experience. (Not a good sign) We opted to have lunch. The beer battered cod caught our attention and the Parmesan Haddock sealed the deal. We started out with a side of the Fried green tomatoes. They were ok. Needed some "tanginess". Our waiter brought us a few hush puppies. Cheddar style with a little heat. Delicious! I ordered the Parmesan Haddock served over linguine. (Asked that the fish be served on a separate plate). The Haddock was a knock out solid home run. Flaky and tasty. The best tartar sauce ever to hit my Lips. Unique in every fantastic way. It's a must try. The linguine was ok. It's was missing tomatoes noted in the description. I also tried a cup of the kitchen sink gumbo. Major miss. Lacking flavor. On a rainy day you want your gumbo to have flavor. The toasted beget was slightly "burnt". My sister really enjoyed her beer battered cod. She's not a huge seafood/fish lover but enjoyed her sandwich and she bragged for 20 minutes on the Mac n cheese. The banana pudding is from another planet. It was delicious! Service. Greeted warmly and seated quickly. It took way too long to get tartar sauce. Asked for extra when ordering...especially for the sandwich and none was brought out with the food. A slight oversight but when we reminded our waiter it was still forgotten about and we had get up to go it. When the dessert was brought out our waiter cleaned the table and took our silverware. No biggie but an inconvenience.

Our waiter was very nice and accommodating. He served us right away with the honey butter croissants, which was so delicious, crispy and melts in your mouth. We ordered the Grilled Shrimp Alfredo and the seasoning on the shrimp was so good. I wish the pasta was more al dente, since it was on the softer side. Aside from that, the garlic bread was also really yummy. I wish there were two of those. We also got the Buffalo Chicken wrap, which comes with two wraps cut in half. It was super filling and the fries were nice and crispy. Our waiter suggested to have the wrap with lettuce instead of cabbage and with bacon, so that's what we ordered. Overall, we were really happy with the food and the service!

But when we got there & the 5 of us got seated the waitress informed us that they were out of the Monte Cristo. HOW could you be out of a sandwich that has so many ingredients that you can purchase at any grocery store? Not only that but when our grilled salmon was served it was not lying on a bed of rice as usual & it was served to all 3 of us with no comment or explanation given. I had to ask about it & was told that they ran out of rice & were cooking up more that would be ready in about 30 minutes. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!! It appeared that the kitchen was being poorly managed and the wait staff had not been trained to deal with situations like these. We should have been offered a rain check on both the sandwich & the salmon or at least had it deducted from our final bill. We go to Cheddars frequently & have never encountered such a poor experience before. Thank goodness the croissants & cheese bites were delicious as usual. However the unavailability of the Monte Cristo was a big disappointment & our grandson ordered a cheeseburger instead, which he ate only half of. I sincerely hope that the management corrects these issues before our return. As a side note, our salmon which we had ordered med-rare came out medium to well-done, but we ate it anyway. In the past when we have ordered our salmon med-rare it was served cooked correctly. And a side of glazed carrots was served cold which I sent back & had reheated. I don't know if Cheddars is under new management or if it was just a bad night in the kitchen. The one bright spot was our waitress, Julietta, who was training a new employee, but was pleasant & efficient with our food service. Unfortunately, she had not been trained in how to deal with dissatisfied customers. A manager should have been called over to talk with us. Like I said, we eat at Cheddars frequently & this one experience will not dissuade us from returning, but I felt that someone should know about the bad experience we had in hopes that the problems will be corrected. Food The entrées and sides were the highlight of the visit -- well‑prepared, flavorful, and worth the price. *Garlic Caper Salmon -- ***** ($22.00) Perfectly cooked, great balance of flavors. *Blackened Rainbow Trout -- ***** ($20.00) Seasoned well, cooked just right. *Iced Tea -- **** ($2.99) solid, nothing to complain about. *Banana Pudding -- **** ($8.00) Tasty, comforting dessert. *Bread Pudding -- *** ($9.00) Decent, but not as strong as the other dishes. *Service & Atmosphere This is where things fell short. The service felt detached, as if the waitress was distracted or simply going through the motions. The overall vibe in the restaurant -- felt unusually downcast, which affected the dining experience. *Would I Return? I would absolutely visit this franchise again, because the food is worth it. But returning to the Burleson location specifically is questionable based on the atmosphere and service during this visit.
