Small town Texas DQ. Nice decor & the food was delivered hot as ordered. The lower ranking comes from the lack of counter service & how slow they were getting my order. I understand not being in a rush, but it took literally 3 minutes for me to be greeted while seeing me stand at the counter. Then it took over 10 minutes to get me a steak finger basket when there were 3 people in the store. Not an explanation of anything at any point. My husband and I stopped here on our way through town. I ordered the chicken sandwich with no bun. When I got it the chicken looked like plastic. I started pulling it apart and it was difficult to shred. She prices were really tough and dry. The chicken was clearly dry, old and over cooked. I would definitely not risk stopping here. I love Dairy Queen, but this one in Jacksboro was a joke! I understand they were fighting the lunch rush, but you'd think they could be more organized and have more than just four workers. That's right, there were just four employees; the manager with one worker managing the front desk and drive through, while the other two worked in the kitchen. I was going to order a chocolate cake shake, but he said they didn't offer cake shakes anymore, yet it's still on their FRONT menu! I asked him about that and he didn't give me a clear answer. I ordered a S'mores blizzard instead, I had to wait because there was family of four ahead of me, they got their vanilla cones, yet they were still in line. Why? because they had more ice cream orders. We waited so long that the family's ice cream cones were melting so fast (Summer heat), they had to put theirs upside down in cups. I was so infuriated that people after us were getting their meals taken care of, but me and that family of four were pushed to the side. My family were waiting for me outside, I had enough and went to straight to the other desk, where they make the ice cream treats, and told the same worker that previously I ordered from, that if I didn't get my blizzard, that I would demand a refund! He apologized and asked the family before me if he could go ahead and make my S'mores blizzard. Thankfully, they said yes. Unfortunately, he didn't mix it long enough, it wasn't thick, it was just a liquid-y, gloppy mess. Very disappointing. This Dairy Queen was also not sanitary. There were flies everywhere! The tables weren't clean and trash underneath. They DID NOT offer customers hand sanitizer. That's a big deal considering we're in a pandemic right now! They also had seemed to forgot how their AC works! It was miserable in there, especially when you're wearing a mask! I went through the drive thru, their outside speaker was out of order (with NO sign listed, however when I came up to the window I was greeted with "we can't hear you from the speaker, it's broken.") Anyway, Be mindful to taste your ice cream purchases before driving off! Their shake was watered down and it just tasted awful. Their blizzard, was not what was asked for. The food was great, the kids that work there not so great. Worst customer service I've ever experienced at any fast food chain. I walked in before 9:30 and they close at 10 so let's be honest, that's fairly not to late for "fast" food. Anyways, when I walked in everyone was hanging around and no one acknowledged me. I ask a girl that is sitting on top of the drive thru window if they're open and she doesn't respond. I ask her again and literally no response, everyone just silent. Finally, a boy comes behind the counter and just stares at me. No "how can I help you" "what do you want." Literally nothing. I just awkwardly started ordering. We stopped here on February 8th, on our way out of town. My daughter ordered a burger combo (can't remember which one), and then we headed over to another place to grab a few items. When we were moving again, my daughter discovered they hadn't gotten her order right. A small mistake. There was no hamburger in the hamburger. Two buns, lettuce, mayo, mustard....but no burger. So, I went back through the drive through and showed the guy working the window. He apologized and said he would get us another quickly. He seemed very embarrassed, but it was not a big deal for us. There was only one car ahead of us and it made for a good laugh. The girl who made it apologized profusely, and we were clear that we were not upset and that it was ok. Everyone makes a mistake from time to time, and we got a laugh out of it. The people here were very nice, and I wouldn't hesitate to go back in the future. Oh, the food. Horrible experience. I stopped by to get a plain and dry cheeseburger with bacon combo and a large fry. I went thru the drive thru and no one answer for awhile. Finally, someone spoke and said pull up to the next window and I asked is that to place an order? He didn't respond. So, I pulled up and I couldn't tell if he was taking orders, so I decided to go inside. Wrong idea, I should've went to Sonic next door. I went in and the sign says to wear a mask and I was, but none of the staff wore one and none of the customers in line had one on. The whole staff were teenagers it seemed and they were more interested in talking to each other, except one that was really helping everyone else to get things done. He was training some guy, who wearing his hat on backwards, to take my order. I told them several time that I wanted a plain and dry cheeseburger with bacon combo and an extra fries, but they managed to get it wrong. I waited forever and I ended up going back 2 times. Once because they forgot my fries and another because there was mustard on the burger. They screwed up the order behind me too. They had to go back in too. The inside was dirty after I looked around while waiting for my order. The drive thru guy and the cook seemed to be the only 2 people working besides the poor kid trying to fix my order. He even went back to make my fries and remake my burger. The other guy and girl up front were just talking to each other most of the time. They should've tried to clean the place. I don't know if there was an adult manager there, but this store needs some leadership and a makeover. I've ordered from their drive thru before and they've messed up orders before. This is the sorriest DQ I have ever been to. Started off with attitude at the counter, food left a lot to be desired. Then ordered a cookie dough blizzard felt no pieces when I got it finally found three pieces. Asked how much was put it and was told three scoops, no offer to remake it add more nothing. Started to let it go, then said NO, went back and said you can remake this or give my money back, but this is not getting it.
