My husband, daughter and I were passing through today trying to find a local restaurant to order food from and happened to spot the Daddy Bob's truck!!!!! If you could have seen how excited we were, I'm sure y'all would've laughed. We were absolutely ecstatic! And guess what? The food definitely lived up to our expectations! I ordered the jalapeño and cheese sausage sandwich with Mac and cheese and a sweet tea. Hubby ordered the sausage plate with the same side and drink as me. OMGGGG. It hit the freaking spot in my stomach that has so missed having bbq food, thank you JESUS! We ended up popping the trunk and enjoying our lunch in the shade right there in the parking lot (socially distanced of course). The weather today was perfect for a trunk picnic. I'm telling you, I couldn't have thought up a better way to spend our lunch together. Keep serving up this amazing food, my friends! read more

The brisket potato is delicious and huge! If your looking to get stuffed, it's the way to go. They tend to sell out of potatoes, so I'd suggest getting one a little earlier then later, if you can. I also suggest ordering extra sauce, like a lot of extra sauce. read more

My search for great barbecue in Wichita Falls lead me to a food truck that's only in the city once a week, but that alone puts it near the top of smoked meats in this city. I've come in search of some great brisket, and while there is the occasional glimpse of greatness in my order, it's ultimately dry, albeit less than some of the local places. It's as tender as all get-out, though, and there's a flavorful bark that I can still appreciate. Pork is a much better affair. It's uneven - dry in some bites, moist in others - but the dry rub used is unusually flavorful, sweet where many other's are just boring. I prefer it to the brisket. What I like most about Daddy Bob's is, surprisingly, the jalapeno poppers. the peppers are loaded with a soft cheddar cheese mixture, wrapped with bacon, and smoked. I've had versions of this before, but never as good as here - the bacon is render just enough so that it's a little bit crispy, and the cheese picks up a tremendous amount of smoke. The menu said an order was, like, four poppers, but I was very glad to have a few extra to munch on the car ride home. Daddy Bob's isn't the end-all, be-all when it comes to Wichita Falls barbecue, but their 'cue ranks pretty highly up there. read more

Holy cow that is some GREAT BBQ!!! Caught up with this family owned operation on wheels in McKinney at the McKinney Trade Days. The ribs were absolutely the best, tender and flavorful EVER! These guys hit up Wichita Falls every week and McKinney occasionally. IF you ever are around and see the smokewagon, you must get some great BBQ. Just stop in to get some food while driving through Texas. We HAD to have BBQ while in Texas. Man did we hit the jackpot with this food truck!! AMAZING food! My husband is active duty and we were driving to his new duty station, when they hear this they gave us extra food and a discount! I can't say enough about the two gentlemen working there they were very respectful and just really wonderful! It is a MUST if you are driving through town! read more

Was not impressed by their food. The smoked jalapeno poppers were salty and small, definitely not worth the price. The barbeque sauce was nothing special, had a peppery taste. Overall, the brisket was okay, but I would not go back or recommend this food truck. read more

I go to the Smokewagon when it's in Wichita Falls. I have tried numerous items on the menu and I have never been disappointed. Some of the best BBQ around. I only wish Daddy Bob would open a restaurant. I know he can make some fabulous steaks also. read more
