I visited Davis this past weekend so I had to stop by Tres Hermanas. I love this spot! They have amazing indoor and outdoor patio seating. The patio seating is colorful, lively. We sat outside since it was nice out. The menu caters to vegetarians and pescatarians well. I got a tres hermanas house margarita and guacamole to start. They also brought out chips and salsa. They guacamole was fresh and margarita was classic, delicious, easy to drink. I got enchiladas verdes with the house salad with cilantro dressing. I love the house salad- simple, fresh veg, and the cilantro dressing is light, a little tangy. The enchiladas were incredible. They're a little spicy, for me, perfect spice level. Beans and the rice were seasoned well. The service was great, they checked on our table a couple times even though it was busy. Fantastic experience, I highly recommend stopping by if you're in Davis!

The food here is delicious and the servers are prompt and if you visit regularly they all take the time to know your name. It's a popular Davis eatery and a go to place for our family. Great indoor seating but if the weather is nice the patio is best - they have heaters and umbrellas.

Tres Flautas - chicken, minus sour cream
Amber R.

First time here - there was seating inside & outside & very colorful. It was a bit of a wait for 2 people, but it was really busy for a midweek evening. The salsa was flavorful & hot, which I liked. I ordered the flautas - very good, but they got a little soggy after they cooled off. As for the staff, our waitress kind of disappeared after taking our order, but there was another gentleman who helped us who was nice. Overall, I'll be back!

2 tacos: Chicken, potato

Outstanding service!! All the employees were friendly and helpful. It was like they had our food and drinks before we even asked for it! The decor is bright and festive. Plenty of seating inside and out. Authentic dishes and flavors. Specials and regular menu- everything was SO GOOD! When we were headed there, we thought it was a restaurant we had been to before and then when we arrived, we realized it was different. We were so pleased because everything was delicious. It was a great new spot to find. There's a parking lot right across the street so you don't have to search for parking

Crispy taco and chicken enchiladas plate! Delicious!

Stopped here for lunch, the host and our server Arlette were both very nice! Clean interior and spacious outdoor patio. Ordered the crispy chicken taco and tamale and two chicken enchiladas. The portions were huge and the food was delicious! Both came with a large serving of rice and beans. We had a small salad with cilantro salad dressing and it was delicious! The chips and salsa were really good too! Couldn't finish one of the plates so had to bring some home. Will definitely be back; if you're in Davis looking for great Mexican food give Tres Hermanas a try!

Al pastor tacos!! Omg!!! Delicious!!

Absolutely recommend this place! I'm surprised I didn't give this place five stars since the first time I came here which was about 2 years ago, since then we have become regulars and I have to say that nothing has changed! The food, the people, the drinks, and the atmosphere are all still amazing! When you come in you're welcomed by staff and they allow you to choose a table that you're comfortable with then they bring out their delicious salsa and chips to enjoy while you check out the menu! I've had their guacamole and chips, shrimp cocktail tostadas, chicken chimichangas, fajitas, mole enchiladas, potato, al pastor, and steak tacos! Everything I've had is fresh and tasty! My favorite of all has got to be their chile verde!!! It so the BEST I've had from a restaurant and I frequently come to tres hermanas just for it! Their soups are all delicious - my favorite is their lentil soup. If you get a chance to pick a soup or salad, try a soup! They have different spice levels of salsas and if you're looking for a good spicy salsa ask for their Diabla salsa!! It will not disappoint! As for drinks, they serve them strong and tasty! Just the way I like it! Top two favorites are their cantaritos and their strawberry margaritas on the rocks with a sugar rim! We've tried many different Mexican restaurants and this place stands out by far. If you're looking for good vibes, delicious Mexican food and you're in Davis, stop by here once and I promise you'll be back again and again! Thank you Tres Hermanas Davis for always delivering deliciousness! -Jamie

Taco salad add chicken - so good

The food is fine - nothing amazing but definitely good. Pretty much exactly what you expect from a California Mexican Cantina style restaurant. The portions are generous. The staff was really nice and friendly. But the real reason it's a great spot is because of the vibe. It's hard to come by good ambience in restaurants in Davis and this one has a cute courtyard and a fun festive interior which makes it above average and worth going to if you find yourself needing food after seeing a movie around the corner.

The Cloudbreaker immediately met my taste buds with bitterness and then left my tongue completely numb for several minutes. Perhaps those sensations would have paid off if they were followed by a calming or THC-like effect, but I didn't experience any change in mental state. The comfortable atmosphere saves this establishment from 1 star. Dim lights, leather couches, chill music, and colorful tiki wall art make for a decent study spot or date night. However, if you're hanging out at a business, you gotta support it, and to support it, you gotta buy something -- I can't see myself buying anything kava-related with any ounce of enjoyment. Surely there must be some variation of a kava drink that tastes delightful. I don't want to spend any more money finding out though.

Seemed like a nice variety of draft beers to choose from but the drafts werent working so I settled for a bottle of Lucky Buddha. The bartenders serve you with a smile and there's always a lively group of patrons mingling. Pool tables sit near the restroom if you can manage to secure one. Don't get your hopes up though; it seems like a finders-keepers type of situation once people occupy the tables. I didn't feel like anything particularly stood out about this place. Some reasons are inherent to its location in the heart of a college town; there's always competition with other neighboring bars. Also, most undergrads don't bat an eye at the ambiance as long as alcohol and music are involved. But some of the reasons are self-inflicted... the dance floor needs more space and the DJ sounded like he had a generic club playlist on shuffle. Forgot to close my tab so I met the bartender the next morning with a lovely 20% surcharge. I know that's the standard for many bars (even though I see it as a mere cash grab), but 20% feels like such an insult for the subpar experience here. If you're a student at UC Davis, you should still give this place a visit. I'm sure it's a blast for the average 21 year old. It's also a ritual in your undergrad years: experiencing the crappy club scene in order to learn how overrated it is.

If you know, it is already incredibly hard taking an autistic child to a restaurant. The manager thought it was ok to tell my 13 year old to put on my autistic son's shoes..... (why not ask me, the mom?) As my son is screaming and heaving a full meltdown over shoes now, the manager continues to apologize because there were possibly glass shards on the ground in his restaurant. If that is the case, maybe someone else should be notified as that is a serious safety hazard and my son would get cut anyway as he has sandals that expose his feet, as did my daughter. I will never eat here and will make sure to let all my friends with and without kids with disabilities to never eat here. What an unacceptable excuse this place made me and my family feel. There are usually "Theme" nights that are always fun! They also do Banda nights occasionally on Friday's that most times have full Live Banda Bands. Thursday and Saturday is 18+ nights, so it's nice for younger college students to still be able to get out and have fun with friends. The bar area is blocked off and you can only get in if you have a wrist band so while you drink you aren't getting harassed by underage patrons while enjoying a drink. DJs are all pretty solid and play club hits. They do have a cover charge but it's worth it and pretty much every other club/bar outside of Sacramento. There are free tickets on Poppin or their text chain that sends you 2 texts a week, usually with a free cover if you show it to the cashier. They do have a dress code. Which is super understandable. There are so many places outside of Davis that have dress codes so just dress like you're going out on the town. Also: if you are underage and trying to use a fake ID... don't! We got there right at opening and the server/hostess, Aurora, greeted us with a warm smile and welcome. There are two choices of spots to sit at - low tables/booths or high top tables with stools. We opted for a low table. I ordered the Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese sandwich with sweet potato fries and my friend ordered the Chinichurri Tri-Tip sandwich with a side salad. When our meals came out, we were pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes! I feel like I had a lot of fries on my plate and the sandwich was stuffed with meat! Instead, our experience was ruined by the owner, Gordon Langstaff, and his completely inappropriate behavior around a small child. My son, who is three and on the autism spectrum, briefly picked up a loose electrical cord that was lying on the ground under the patio stairs (I have a photo of how exposed it was). Instead of calmly addressing the situation, Gordon walked over in a rude, irritated tone and said, "Can you do something?" I told him I was already handling it and redirecting my son, but as he walked away he started cursing under his breath, using foul language that was clearly audible right next to my child. There is no excuse for swearing like that in front of a three‑year‑old, especially when the unsafe cord was left out in the open by the restaurant in the first place. Whether or not my son is autistic, families should never be subjected to hostility and foul language from the owner of a restaurant. If you offer outdoor seating and leave cords and other hazards accessible, you should expect children to be curious and respond with basic courtesy, not anger. The food itself was mediocre, and after that interaction it honestly didn't matter. This was supposed to be a special birthday outing, and his attitude and language completely ruined it.
