We were lucky enough to be here visiting from Phoenix when they opened on July 16, 2024, and had the privilege to write their first Yelp review. We happen to be visiting again and couldn't miss the chance to return on Cinco de Mayo. Again fantastic food and phenomenal atmosphere. Good food, great margaritas, and festive croud. I'm happy to see their success. Cheers!

Stopped in for their Taco Tuesday Specials and they did not disappoint! I tried their crunchy shredded chicken tacos that are a $1.50 each and they were freshly prepared on fresh fried tortillas. They also offer ground beef for $1.50 and the cool thing is for $2.50 you can get grilled chicken or grilled steak. Service was efficient and kind. Checked to make sure we had what we needed. Lots of seating inside with a combination of booths and tables. Good for big groups! Also has a nice outside patio area.

03/01/25 I had to write another review on their Arroz con Pollo Lunch special. The only words that I uttered after almost every other bite was "WOW" just like my previous order. I wanted to try something different from the menu because I always order the Camarones al Mojo de ajo. Every bite had tons of flavor. It was so good I didn't leave a grain of rice! Service is always great and will continue to come! 03/02/25 I tried another dish on the menu! The fajita taco salad Lunch with grilled chicken. The crisp flour tortilla wasn't too crunchy. It was a soft yet crispy crunch .. think of it like an airy-type crunch. I added guacamole on top. Again, they are always on point. Love this restaurant!

Stopped in again for early dinner. Not very busy. Super attentive staff. She had the chicken tacos. I had the Al pastor quesadilla. Both were amazing. Super plentiful and flavorful. The chicken had nice grilled bits. The Al pastor was sweet and savory. Pineapple chunks were a nice touch. I had the house habanero hot sauce. Bottle that stuff for the masses. My one small complaint was $2.29 up charge to add some cheese to the brides taco. I felt that was a little much. It won't keep me outta there but a little insulting to see at the end of the meal On the check. Great food. Will be back.

We decided to try this out since it just opened. The decor is typical for Mexican Restaurant. They have booths and tables. Outdoor seating as well. There is a full bar with TVs. Extensive food and drink menus. The drink was delicious, I had the watermelon margarita. My boyfriend ordered the Birria tacos. The consume would make your mouth water but he said the meat was nothing special. I had the "Pick Three" taco, beef burrito and enchilada. It was tasty. The prices are extremely reasonable and the service was attentive. Moderate noise, it's not a big restaurant.

Does this look red to you? I ordered 2 red sauces delivered to my home and this is what I got. This is the THIRD, major issue that I've had with this place since they've been open (short time). A talk to the manager has brought about no changes. It all started with a nastiness from the little waitress with the long sickly looking ponytail.

The food was great. Awesome chips and salsa. The service was fantastic. Really enjoyed their margaritas which they run specials on. Will come back again to enjoy a very authentic experience.

***READ YOUR BILL**** I visited the restaurant this weekend on Saturday (1Feb25). I always want to and do support local businesses and fellow Latinos. I did not waist my time to confront the staff I just know I won't be back or recommend them due to wrong business practices. My final bill was $64 before Tax. The itemization didn't say how much the tax was but they charged just over 15.5% totaling after tax $74+. The local tax by law in Phobeus is considerably lower than that for packaged food and retail liquor. The business is tacking on extra packed prices through a blank tip charge. Tacking on this hidden fee is a method to build revenue and make money off what should be legitimate tax charges. Oh and they charged $2 for payment by card, so just on my transaction almost $12 was made extra. I'm sure that illegal & it's unethical practices like this that bring lack of support to small minority businesses. Ósea no se estén bajando la gente.

    Tacos Carne Asada

The food was excellent. I got the three tacos asada. It came with everything plus grilled onions on the side. Definitely will come here again.

Definitely order the "Skinny Magarita". It's fresh orange and lime juice with tequila. Absolutely delish.

We stopped by tonight and really enjoyed the experience. Staff were very nice, funny, and service was fast. My girlfriend ordered got the birria tacos, I ordered the wet quesadilla. The wet quesadilla is really yummy, and a ton of food. Beef and chicken, cheese sauce... delicious. The birria tacos are a generous serving of brisket with lots of consome/hot sauce. We were both stuffed and took home a bunch of food. BTW - Order the "Skinny margarita". It's fresh squeezed juice with tequila and it is AMAZING! We'll be back!

I haven't been back to my other favorite Mexican spot in Phoebus since Tres Compadres opened! Amazing what they've done with what used to be a standard Hardee's fast food spot. The decor is outstanding - art work depicting Frida Kahlo and an ode to those who harvest from the earth. The place is light filled and comfortable. On my first visit, I had the rice bowl and the Mexican street corn and was immediately hooked. The service is outstanding, the portions huge, and the seasoning is perfect. In fact, rice bowl is a deceptively simple name for this dish. It's really ACP kicked up a notch, if you get it with chicken. I've also ordered carry out and delivery. The rice bowl with shrimp wasn't as good. For carry out, the steak el macho and pollo Monterey were delicious. The steak was tender and both portions were plentiful. On my next visit, we had margaritas with our rice bowls. They have an extensive selection of margarita flavors. I had tried the mangochamoy on a previous visit and learned something new, having never heard of it before. This time we had coconut and though I considered watermelon and raspberry, I'm pretty sure mine was mango. Good stuff.

Look how small this is! $7? seriously??? It says 5 Stuffed Jalapenos but they just chop up one or two peppers and sell it for 5!
    Brett G.

Ordered their stuffed jalapeños, they come with 5. Instead I get 5 quarter sized pieces of a jalapeño chopped up to make 5 pieces with a sh*t ton of lettuce to fill up the bowl to make it look like there is food there. This was $7.49 btw. I feel so ripped off! There is nothing special about this place, if you've had non authentic mid VA mexican food, then you've had this place's food.

    Fresh Guacamole
    Kristina D.

Visited around 7:3-8pm on a Friday. No wait time. Attentive service. Food was great. We both got birria tacos. Flavor and tortillas were amazing. 2nd closest to SoCal taste. Fresh Guacamole was a 6/10. Very chunky and was missing flavor. Made table side and still very fresh tasting. Margarita was a 10/10. Menu doesn't show pricing of drinks but there were many choices. Server was very friendly and attentive. There was music playing, great for casual dining. Great portions for the cost.

    Mole covered chicken enchiladas.

It's high-end, which I barely touch due to pricing, but it does not hurt to try something new. Let's see how the evening went. After our entire party arrived, we were all promptly seated. Inside, the decor is perfect. From the bar to the dining area, everything was spotless. You can tell the staff really cares about keeping the place tidy. And they had New Orleans-style music playing through the sound system. Very relaxing. After looking through the menu, I was ready to place my order. I chose their fish special, which was salmon with veggies and a sauce (forgot the name). This dish was very good. It was probably the best cooked salmon I've ever had. When you see seafood with the perfect crust and a lot of flavor, you're in heaven. It did have a small bone and I felt it lacked the amount of squash and zucchini, but again, a wonderful meal. There was one situation which resulted in only a 4-star review. Out of curiousity, I saw on Facebook that they offered $5 discounts. I did let my party know and we were all ready to use them when the bill was ready. But the staff told us the discount was to be used on a table rather than an individual ticket. When we looked both on Facebook and our personal emails, none of that verbage was mentioned. Not trying to sound harsh, but please be sure to state every detail foe customers. We do want to find ways to save some cash out of our wallets. Except for the discount mishap, the visit turned out well. I can say I'll be back to give them anothee go-around. Till next time :)

If I say please give us some time to chat then come back in 15 minutes, THEN do that. My eggs and grits bowl was good and the turkey sausage patties were inedible. Also for some reason they always serve a mix of sweet and white potatoes. I do not eat sweet potatoes ever. Dana I beg you stop putting them in everything from soup to entrees. I was told that if I were to leave the stroller in the car and hold/carry her, it would be a 50 minute wait for "two." I opted to go online and make a "reservation" for two and I would put the stroller in the car and hold my daughter for a reservation time of 1:00 pm (only a 30 minute wait). Why do I need to go online while standing in the restaurant to make a quicker "reservation" when I'm standing right in front of the hostess? When checking in for the 1:00 pm reservation, the hostess asked if I was going to hold my daughter or if I wanted a high chair for her. This made no sense as the entire point of me holding her was because I needed a "table for 2." If I was going to be offered a high chair for a baby that can't even sit up yet, I should've been able to keep her asleep in the stroller and still been a table for 2. How is a high chair at that point not considered a third? Her stroller wouldn't have taken up any more room. The whole experience was absurd, made absolutely no sense and was off putting. There has to be better processes in place. Adding that it is 96 degrees outside, so going back and forth with an infant was absolutely ridiculous.

It's just a horrible experience as is. They need to go to Precarious and see how they do it. Their food is generally good to great. They have a $5 before 5 app and drink special menu that is a really good deal. Nice spot for adults to have some drinks. Just be patient as service is generally slow. Now onto my recent experience.... I suggested it to some friends who wanted to grab some beers on MLK day which was a Monday. There were 4 of us guys and 7 kids. It's a lot. I get it. They weren't overly busy. Maybe a quarter full. I tried to keep the kids away from other tables by giving them boundaries. They were not happy with us. They didn't like the kids being outside in their patio (freezing, no one out there) etc. The one server was getting destroyed. She had just like 6 tables, but a 16 top. I felt badly for her. Our drinks correspondingly took about 20-30 minutes each time we tried to order. She was nice when she could get to us. At one point a person who said they were a manager, I think she said her name was Hannah, came over and said the kids couldn't be going around (again, I had boundaries not by any other patrons etc. from what I could see they were honoring them, but who knows), anyway she asked if we could keep them by us, which is fine. I then asked her if I could put in a beer and app order as I had been waiting for our server with an empty beer for at least 20 minutes. Instead of taking the order and ringing it in, she said she'd send the server over and disappeared never to be seen again. 5 minutes Iater the server was able to get free from her big table and get our beer orders and food in. Several items were forgot, but at this point we were kind of over it. Just not really your typical relaxed brewery vibe. Felt like they wanted it to be more of a sit down restaurant.
