The company that did the inspection quoted my mother a ridiculously high amount of money, so I decided to look around. I got a few estimates and Pat Murphy plumbing and backhoe was one of them. He wasn't the cheapest, but he was way under what the first company tried to get my mother to pay. More importantly, he seemed by far the most knowledgeable. We decided to go with him and he put us on the schedule for the following week. He showed up on time, he worked very fast, and the job was completed before schedule. We found a new plumber! It turns out, Don Willis was formerly affiliated with KTK Plumbing and had installed a kitchen sink faucet in my home a couple years ago. They (he was accompanied by his son, an apprentice, I believe) arrived on time and quickly went to work. When they moved the washing machine to make access to the drain easier they "discovered" a secondary access to the drain. Using both access, as well as a hundred foot snake, the cleaned out the drain all the way to my septic system. The whole job took about an hour, and I've had no drainage problems since then.

He then wanted to charge me 5500$ for a hot water heater. I'm not exaggerating, this is criminal! This guy is a scam artist! Beware!

I also brought in the hose the homeowner used which was a 3/4" hose. He came out with a hose cut to 12' and put it on the counter. It was the wrong size. Called the manager. He made it right.

John came out today and dug up our septic tank this morning, and he was very helpful in answering all our questions. We got to watch the whole process (digging up the covers, pumping, and all that goes with it). John was a hoot to work with, and made us laugh throughout the process! Our tank hasn't been pumped in 10 years, and he said it looked good for such a long time. We're going to have risers installed, so we can make their next visit even easier...Great father and son team family business. Very friendly service, and good value for the cost, too. We highly recommend them- No Shit!
