Spa days are essential to the soul. I was given a gift card during teacher appreciation week that covered enough for a massage at Trellis. I decided to make a whole day out of it. With any booking you are granted access to the premises from 8am to 7pm. It's better to go early during the week because they say it gets busy on the weekends. I honestly went on Monday and I'm thankful that I did. Things that are complimentary are: access to lockers, showers, steam room, jacuzzi, cooling pool, and out jacuzzis. Plus there are lounging spots upstairs where the massages take place. They also give complimentary tea, coffee, fruit, cookies, and trail mix. Plus refreshing infused water. I pre booked a 50 min trellis massage. Kendal gave the best massage I ever had, I swear! Although I will say there is definitely discrepancy with time as they add in them walking you to the room, pre conversation, undressing, all of that into it. So ultimately it can vary from 35-40 mins which is a bit meh for the cost of $200 + 23% mandatory gratuity (not including tip). I most definitely would come back for another massage with Kendal. Yet if you're coming solo bring headphones because sometimes there will be couples or groups talking in the inside cooling pool area and it can sound quite loud since it's closed in. read more

I visited Trellis Spa on August 2, 2026, for a spa day with my sister. We spent over $800 and, up until the end of our visit, everything was wonderful. The services themselves were excellent. Unfortunately, as we were leaving, I realized I had accidentally left my charm bracelets in the left pocket of my robe. I immediately drove back to the spa, hoping they could be recovered. I was told the laundry had already been taken to another area of the spa and that I would have to wait. Security and several staff members were made aware that my jewelry was missing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Since then, I have been the one calling every day to check for updates. No one has reached out to me proactively, and each time I'm simply told that nothing has been found.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]What has been most disappointing is the lack of communication, urgency, and empathy throughout this process.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] While I understand that forgetting my jewelry was my mistake, I expected much better customer service from a luxury spa. Went for couples 60 minute massage. Be conscious of your time. It literally begins while they walk you to your room and explain the protocol. They allow you to quickly change. (So that you can get close to your full 60 minute massage limit). So don't take too long otherwise it gets cut out of your time. The ladies were amazing and adhere to your comfort style. I'll come back with their names. When done, you must quickly change and out the door. They are mindful that people have appointments. But after that, you can relax in the sauna, relaxation pools, and even lounge area for as long as you need to. That's truly the cherry on top! read more

A spa day is a real treat for me, and I have especially high expectations when treatment prices are high and a service charge is tacked on prior to a service being performed. Overall, I had a good experience at Trellis, but I wouldn't say it was outstanding. I opted to have the Trellis signature facial and the Trellis signature massage done. The massage was great! The facial was fine... I have definitely had better before. It was more of a face and neck/shoulder massage than a cleansing facial. Trellis is one of the few places left in Houston where you can get an all out "spa experience." After having my treatments, I lingered for a bit to enjoy the outdoor whirlpool, indoor steam room/hot tub and the soaking pool. The space isn't huge and it got pretty busy quickly. I would probably invite a friend to join me next time. The ladies' locker room was clean but could probably use a facelift soon. My friend who was visiting from out of town had made a reservation for herself. I decided to spend some time with her. And enjoy a relaxing experience, so I made myself a resy as well. I noted all of the reviews that had said this place was falling off. And that regulars were disappointed by the change. So I went in with eyes wide open. This was my first visit, so I had nothing to compare it to. So, I'll base my review on a few components (similar to my food reviews). Massage - Vanessa was my therapist, I think she was partially deaf, as she had what looked like a cochlear implant. Super easy to communicate with. She was great. She listened to my desperate plea for relaxation. She gave the pressure I desired and did not just do what she wanted to do. While it was a little bright with lights in the room, overall a positive experience. I love that they had 3 different oils I could choose from. I chose the relaxing sent. I also love that I had control over the music, there is multi different categories, and I chose the most relaxing station I could find. Those were nice touches to me. Service- while I did not get a tour of all the grounds, I would have appreciated this as it was my first visit, and the place is so massive. Check-in and check-out were easy enough. My friend had an "attendent" with her, which she enjoyed. But FYI, there is an attendent fee for having them stay with you throughout the visit, which makes sense. There was staff inside the massive changing room that can assist you in finding your locker, getting you slides etc. So in my opinion, it was good service. Amenities - I wanted to enjoy the hot tub, but it was smaller than I expected. And there were already 2 people in there, so it was full. They do have a large outside area. But my friend was worried about mosquitos. So we stayed inside at the indoor wade pool. It was cold, sad. The upstairs waiting area is where they serve food/drinks while you wait for your services to start. My friends thoughts were similar to other reviews in that the place has changed, ans not as much "special attention to service" as she was used to have. Why 3 stars? Because it was relaxing but not worth the price for me. --- --- --- For my wife's 40th birthday, she wanted to spend an afternoon here and I wasn't too mad about it. We got a couples massage and hung out in the spa/steam rooms a bit before and after that. The massage was tough for me because I prefer a deep tissue/Thai massage where the masseuse puts me through the ringer. Of course I enjoy the relaxation aspect of a massage, but I play a lot of sports and also really appreciate the therapy aspect of the experience. There was definitely zero therapy involved in this very light massage, despite requesting her to go as deep as she could. With that being said, she was very friendly and it was a nice, calming experience. However, I spend less at my normal place for 90 minutes than I did here for 60 and get much more out of the other spot. Before and after the massage, we hopped between the steam room and hot tub. We unfortunately had to do this separately, as the outdoor hot tubs were crowded with other people, while the indoor hot tubs that were separated by gender, had no one in them. Both were enjoyable, especially the steam room, which was incredibly hot and hard to stay in for more than a few minutes (which is a good thing if you're not used to steam rooms). The issue is that I have access to hot tubs and steam rooms through my gym and this experience cost more for one visit than my expensive gym does for one month. The reason I'm giving 3-stars is because my wife enjoyed it and if you make the wife happy on her 40th birthday, everybody wins. But if it were up to me, I would not need to come back. read more

Unfortunately I was not wowed at Trellis. The facility has been recently renovated and looks beautiful, and there are lots of attendants to help you. But honestly there were fewer spa amenities that I expected. They have two outdoor hot tubs in a lounge area. They have one four person Jacuzzi indoors, a steam room, and a locker room. But for the supposedly top rated spot in Houston I was expecting more. I've been to other spas in the same price range that had more options like infrared or light treatments, sauna, pools with high powered jets, aromatherapy, etc. I got the signature Trellis facial and I know quality can vary greatly from aesthetician to aesthetician, but mine moved at such a quick pace it felt very rushed and not relaxing. She only explained one of the things that she put on my face ("the glycolic" as she stated); generally I like to know which products are using and what the benefits are. She did a good job on extractions, but the massage was extremely short and also her hands moved very quickly so again, it didn't feel relaxing. The facial table was very comfortable and warm, so at least I was comfortable as I was laying there. read more

I've been to Trellis a few times. The first time I was impressed by the facility and enjoyed relaxing in the quiet room even though my facial wasn't anything special. Unfortunately my experience today was quite negative. First of all, there are way too many people booked. Nobody treats it like a spa. Very loud conversations everywhere. It is not even remotely a relaxing environment. There is no quiet room. For my treatment, I had the 100 min CBD body ritual ($490!). Obviously using CBD products, it should be extremely relaxing. Once you're wrapped up, you are supposed to have a warm CBD oil scalp massage. Nothing about it seemed warm or relaxing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Even after I asked, my technician refused to take my hair down from a bun, so she was pulling my hair the whole time and some was pulled out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She overall seemed very inexperienced and was not grasping the concept of relaxing. The scalp massage was rough and aggressive. Not slow and relaxing. I've had a headache for hours. The rest of the massage was rushed and unimpressive. For the price - $490 plus a mandatory 23% service charge - it is nowhere near the caliber of spa it should be. I've travelled to some of the best spas all over the country. If you're going to charge more than those spas, you better live up to it. Trellis doesn't come close. Even the locker room isn't kept up (someone's underwear was in my locker when I arrived so it hadn't been cleaned before assigned to me. When I told the attendant, she shrugged and went back to what she was doing.). Maybe if they didn't charge a mandatory gratuity, their technicians would try harder to provide a good service. Beware. The high prices do not mean high quality treatments! I hope Trellis reads reviews and tries to turn the spa around because it has so much potential. read more

I am so sad to write a review for a place I loved so so much that wa s always a gem, but we came for anniversary and spent a lot of money there and the place no longer felt like a spa- it felt like a bar- drunk people loud people l, I had even called and requested a time and day that was quieter and more romantic for our. Anniversary and it was insane. The staff was incredibly helpful though. We did feel our massage was not the paid for time either. I texted someone right when we were walking in and we were walking out 44 min later not 50. We have always loved love loved this place and we're very disappointed today. Ironically, this was a stressful experience for a place that you pay to relax. In short, the service crew and beauty technicians were great, but the reception people were terrible. My girlfriends and I went on a weekend to indulge ourselves with pedicures and body treatments, booked at different times. However, upon arrival, the receptionist told us that we couldn't use the amenities unless we booked body treatments, facials or massages. We were shocked, as we thought any 50-minute service would suffice. Only after reading the confirmation emails with service fine print did we realize this restriction. Before my treatment began, the receptionist said she would check with management if we could stay and enjoy the amenities. Meanwhile, my friends tried negotiating other options - namely swapping treatments, renting a cabana, or buying a day pass. But we were told "no" as that they were at capacity. After my treatment, I joined my friends on the patio, since we weren't allowed to use the amenities. We ordered food and drinks, and the food turned out to be disappointing. Later our server told us a cabana cost $300 and asked if we want one, contrary to what the receptionists told us. When my friend and I checked out, the receptionists tried to charge me an extra $145 for a day pass that they claimed wasn't available. At first, they said I overstayed my timeslot, then that I used the amenities. Both accusations were false (as proven by my bone-dry bikini). But because my friend had add-ons for her pedicure, they didn't charge her for the day pass. Again, this wasn't communicated to me. No apologies were given even after proving them wrong. I usually don't leave bad reviews, but this experience was demeaning. Don't come here and waste your money, especially if you're POC. Just a word of advice for 'management' - you might want to spell out your T&Cs and all the rules before 'the poors' like me book an appointment. read more

I booked an appt to get a simple haircut before heading out of town (lots of layers only). Katherine was my stylist and she was so sweet and did a great job! My hair is naturally curly so even when I wear it natural, the layers looks great. I love my blowout! Right after, I enjoyed some quiet time on the terrace outside until I was ready to checkout. I've had such a lovely experience with Solaya, so I was very disappointed with my experience at Trellis. For starters, the salon area is quite small with only one sink, so we had to wait for the other client to finish her shampoo. That might have been a good time to offer water or tea, but we just sat and waited while the other client loudly talked on the phone to her car detailer and her sister, oblivious to the fact her shampoo was done. I asked for a collarbone-length blunt bob, and she did an excellent job with that part. She was fast and it was exactly as requested. However, I also asked for curtain bangs (like Farrah Fawcett-style: long and feathered back from the face), but the stylist didn't seem to understand that part, even though I showed her a photo of what I wanted. She left me with long stringy bangs hanging in my face, unfortunately. The photo below was taken that day. I was embarrassed and went home immediately to style them instead of going to my next appointment. Then I realized she also cut the hair on both sides of my face that shouldn't be included with the bangs. She created baby hairs that just stick straight out unless I pin them. :( I had no bangs before, and the part where my bangs go down is quite crooked, plus one side hangs longer than the other. She told me she'd been in the business for 30 years, so I was stunned she didn't cut my bangs straight. I told her, "Please feel free to turn my chair," but she walked around the back and side of me the whole time, so my best guess is that she didn't check how it looked from the front of my face. I haven't experienced the rest of the spa, unfortunately, but I would recommend getting your hair done at Solaya, and not Trellis. It felt more like a tiny salon in someone's converted garage. The spa is starting to look outdated , corners of paint cracked etc . I figured I would suck it up and never return even though I am a club member and the spa is very convenient. Then I got the bill . They charge a 23% gratuity that is NEVER mentioned . When I left ; I realized that I will have to pluck the many eyebrow hairs she missed and exfoliate my face as she did not . I have eye problems and she put oil all over my eyes after I asked her not to . I would have tipped 15% just because it is the correct thing to do . Don't let the skewed reviews fool you, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Trellis Spa. The drive in was serene and I knew it was going to be an enjoyable, upscale treat. FREE PARKING lot adjacent to Trellis Spa. I was greeted very warmly by Brandon who was gracious enough to give me a tour of the facility. There are showers, lockers, robes and slippers provided. Plenty of towels in locker room and at indoor pool/outdoor hot tub areas. Upstairs on second floor is the waiting area with teas, coffees and infused water with a fireplace. To avoid the crowd of main waiting area right off the stairway when you get to second floor you can head to back of the waiting room and it's super quiet and tucked away with some chaise lounges and more seating areas. My masseuse was Luis. I booked an 80 minute massage and it was well worth it. He used firm pressure as requested and it was perfect. The face towel he put on me when I turned on my back for second half of massage had some eucalyptus aromatherapy. I recall my massage room was named eucalyptus so I wonder if that was coordinated or just random circumstance. Nonetheless I really enjoyed my experience. Went for my birthday and my visit was amazing! It was an all day affair for a girls spa day with my friends. My massage with Lupe was great, facial with Barton was PHENOMENAL, followed up with a 3hr cabana rental with a complementary bottle and appetizer was a nice vibe. The amenities were also great! But def under. * bathrooms had no toilet paper For $400+ massages, no reason we should leave feeling irritable. Manager I spoke with (7/7/2022) had no interest to invite us back for a better experience. Not a $50 credit, a lunch or anything was offered by her. So sad. Won't return. I took my mom for a 60th birthday at the spa experience. I would rate my experience a 2/10. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The front desk people are nice, but not helpful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They checked us in and told us our massages would be downstairs and facials upstairs. We got to the waiting area for our massages 10 minutes early. My mom got called in but I didn't. Almost 10 minutes after my appointment time the lady I was assigned to came looking for me and told me that I was supposed to go upstairs. So needless to say my massage was cut short and very rushed. After our massages my mom and I wanted some tea and coffee but the area was so full and crowded with other guests talking loudly. Every time I made my way to the coffee and tea bar the attendees would get in my way. I left so angry I never got my coffee. When we went to checkout my mom was charged for 2 add ons that she did not know were extra. She did not know these were extras she assumed they came with the services. The grounds of the Houstonian are, of course, beautiful. Trellis is nestled amongst trees and flowers creating an oasis that makes you forget you are just down the street from the hubbub of the Galleria. I had the CBD massage with Travina. It was one of the better massages I have had in a while. She left no stone (muscle) unturned and paid such close attention to the trouble spots I told her about. She was very conscious about the pressure level and I very much appreciated it. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a very skilled and kind massage therapist. I then had a pedicure with Esther. Part of the nail salon is surrounded by windows giving a relaxing view of lovely trees and flowers. Esther was extremely sweet and very skilled. It's been almost a week and my pedicure still looks amazing. You can't go wrong with her!! The spa staff, from the time you walk in to the time you check out is very respectful and helpful. There was always someone nearby to help! One weird thing... the spa robes don't have pockets. I know it's silly, but it was slightly annoyingly. Overall, I thoroughly my Saturday morning at Trellis. I will definitely return when I can spend more time enjoying the other amenities like the sauna, hot tubs, and dinning. read more

Started off a little shaky with the scheduling and the expectations set at that time. I tried booking online but it was not very user friendly so I had to call and get scheduled which was fine. During that call I was told to expect a call confirming the appointment and also to select my meal. Fast forward, I never received that call. Once I showed up to my appointment I was asked about my meal because " I never made my selection" - I explained that I never received a call, and at that point he apologized and continued to check me in. No big deal really, it happens. My massage and facial were good and relaxing. The amenities seemed nice but nothing out of this world. Food was also good. Not a bad experience. The problem was at the time of checking out - this took the experience from an 8/9 to a ZERO, will never return, will never recommend. For my visit, I was redeeming a gift certificate that I received over the holidays so I only booked the services that were covered with that certificate. During my facial and meal I was offered additional items (face peal and dessert) which I knew would be an out of pocket expense. I was told the additional peal was $49 more and my desert was about $13. As I was checking out I was told I owed $180 something which did not add up at all!! Once I inquired for that amount to be broken out for me they found 1 mistake and adjusted it but then explained to me that there was an additional charge of $40 for changing my original scheduled service. I tried arguing the point that this was NEVER disclosed when Valerie suggested the facial peal - she clearly stated it would only be a price difference of $49 from the treatment I was originally scheduled for, never disclosed that there are change fees associated with this upgrade. All they could tell me was "we will make sure to train our employees better" I felt completely mislead and cheated because it is not like I can return or cancel the treatment so I was stuck having to pay for a change fee that makes no sense!!! Not worth the money, not worth the experience... Very disappointing that what was supposed to be a nice relaxing afternoon, turned into a very upsetting experience. read more

My friend recommended Trellis Spa in the Houstonian hotel, so I booked a reservation about 2 weeks in advance. There is complimentary valet parking and private parking available behind the entrance of Trellis Spa. There are two private parking areas actually. I arrived about 10 minutes prior to my appointment. The lady in front guided a quick tour of the spa and dropped me at the women's locker room. I headed upstairs to start my Trellis package. There are about 20 treatment rooms and 8 facial rooms. There is a waiting area, where you are waiting with ~10 other clients for their facials/massages. It was not relaxing when you overhear several conversations from the loud ones. Furthermore, therapists questioningly blurt out your name while walking around to find their next client. There should be a better system. During the 5-10 minute wait, there is a snack station with strawberry infused water and confetti shortbread cookies. Aromatherapy Massage (Swedish Massage inspired by ancient well-being rituals, uses unique blends rich in essential oils and aromatic extracts, 3/5): Medium pressure with tea tree oil. There were 4 different essential oils to pick from. It was just OK, nothing stood out. Trellis Signature Facial (Deep cleanse and hydrate the skin, including extractions, 3/5): I walked out feeling like my face revived but felt somewhat incomplete. I was expecting her to get deep down into my pores, but she only exfoliated the black heads on my nose. However, she was a great conversationalist and added some extra Vitamin C cream on my face. Lunch: Sesame crusted tuna steak salad (Green leaf lettuce, carrots, oranges, sweet peppers, cucumbers, soy-ginger vinaigrette, 2/5): I wouldn't order this again. I just ate the sesame crusted tuna with the soy-ginger vinaigrette. I've experienced better salads than this tuna steak salad - just sub-par. You have the option to eat inside of the 'waiting area' or outside patio of the second floor. Classic Mani and Pedi (Cuticle soak, skin exfoliation, therapeutic massage, nail shaping and nail enamel application, 4/5): This was downstairs. I had to wait in the indoor pool for about 30 minutes because I finished my 1-hour lunch quite early. Clients who have makeup, manicure, or pedicure appointment will be waiting in the indoor pool area until your assigned provider finds you. There were 3 different drinks available to drink, so I chose the cantaloupe juice. My experience for the classic manicure and pedicure was good. No complaints. Would I come back? If you're looking to relax, refresh, and renew then Trellis is your go to place! Trellis is one of the top spas in Houston and it's located inside the Houstonian. It is your typical upscale fancy spa. My fiancé purchased me a 50 minute massage and facial. The locker room is very spacious and the lockers are huge. The lockers have locks on them which you can set your code to use your assigned locker. The shoes and robes they give you are very comfortable. They're top quality. I chose the deep tissue massage. I can't remember who my massage therapist was but she was very friendly. I had a lot of knots so she couldn't work all over my body. She decided to work on the areas that were tighter. I would recommend her if I remembered her name! My facial was a typical facial. There wasn't anything memorable about my facial.. especially for the price that it was worth. If I want to come here to relax and spend a lot of money then I would recommend this place, but it's worth it only if you want to spend the money for it. read more
