My wife and I came here for our wedding anniversary in order to relax and spend part of the day at a place we were familiar with and haven't been to in quite a while. We thought we were going to a location we had been before but unfortunately it wasn't and we ended up going here instead. Nevertheless we still had a great time. The spas and bath areas were super clean and enjoyable. Just beware of the fire room in the very back. We could only handle 5 min or less. If you haven't done this kind of place before, it's probably better if you come with someone instead of yourself, but that doesn't deter from how great the place is

I've been visiting Korean bathhouses since 2009 and I have to say Spa World is one of the best. Between this and another well-known bathhouse in Houston, I can't say which one I like more. They each offer something unique but Spa World stands out because of how much they have to offer. It caters to the whole family. Your kids will love the indoor playground while you enjoy your spa time. The signage in the bath area, especially for newcomers. is so very helpful. One tip I'd offer would be to buy a pair of slip-socks. (It cost $4. But if you want to wear your own socks you can.) After soaking in the baths it helps to keep your feet clean and soft while moving through the spa. The bath area is set up with two hot baths and two warm baths. They are spacious with enough room for several people to be in it at once. The cold bath is just right for getting into after the hot bath. While soaking in the baths I noticed how often someone came in to wash down the shower areas. I also appreciated the signage that labeled what items were used and which ones were clean. As for the sauna rooms, wow, they are impressive. I love how soft my skin feels days after I've been to the bathhouse. The Salt Room is intense in the best way. I sat in there for about 15 minutes just allowing my body to get what it needed. One of my favorite rooms was the Gold Room. It's shaped like an Egyptian pyramid. The temperature isn't too hot. It was set to 112 degrees fahrenheit. I went in there after having lunch (which is recommended on their website) at the restaurant on the second floor and it was a perfect room to relax and prepare myself for the hotter rooms. There are also private, quiet rooms that you can take a nap in when your body calls for one. In between saunas you can relax at the full bar on the second floor, or the book nook, or play a game of simulated golf. I ended my time in the forest room where it's quiet and serene. Between the comfortable temperature and the chirping birds sound, you can easily catch a power nap that'll have you feeling refreshed and ready for your day.

This wasn't my first time here, so I felt pretty prepared for what it was. That said, this is not a spa in the sense that you're going to receive any kind of treatment. This is very much self-inflicted relaxation- meaning you have to relax yourself. When you walk in, you put your shoes away and head straight to the desk. To echo other reviews, there isn't much guidance at all- you kind of just have to know what you're doing. The employees unfortunately aren't really there to greet you or do much beyond checking you in. If you want a towel after showering, it's best to bring your own; otherwise, you'll have to pay for one. They only provide hand towels. The locker rooms look pretty "clean" visually, but there are some murky smells in the shower area that are hard to ignore. The main areas consist of multiple rooms. If you bring a book, you'll be in good shape to occupy yourself. The entire point is to be relaxed and quiet. There are signs asking guests to keep noise down, but some people don't seem to respect that. I really wish an employee were available to help enforce it because, at the end of the day, people come here for the quiet. The temperatures, textures, and overall sensory experience of the rooms really do add to the atmosphere, but it's hard to fully enjoy any of that when there's constant chatter around you. Lastly, we ordered food from the café. The flavor was great, no doubt about that. But $23 for one bowl?? I could maybe justify it if there were a solid portion of meat, but it was literally just bites of meat.

There are two main Korean spas in the Houston area: Spa World and Gangnam Spa. I've been to both multiple times, and Spa World remains my favorite, mainly due to its location, size, amenities, and better managed. I often purchase a weekday Groupon for around $30, while regular admission is $45 per person. The spa is in Katy and has a large, dedicated parking lot. Check-in is straightforward: store your shoes in a numbered locker, give the key to staff, pay admission, and receive a separate key for your locker inside the bathhouse. Staff are always welcoming and friendly. (Tip: odd-numbered lockers in the bathhouse are on top, so choose accordingly if you prefer the top locker.) Inside the bathhouse, nudity is required. Men's and women's areas each feature three hot tubs (100-108°F), a steam sauna, dry sauna, cold plunge pool, a heated jet pool, and showers along the walls. On my most recent visit, one hot tub included a traditional herbal "tea bag" with lemongrass, ginger, and eucalyptus--a unique touch, but not a standard feature. In the co-ed common areas, guests wear the provided shorts and t-shirt. Here you'll find dry saunas, a pyramid room, an ice room, and the "Fire Dome" or Bulgama, the hottest room. Upstairs, the two-story facility offers a forest room with relaxing projector effects, a theater room, infrared heating pads, and a space for virtual golf. There's also a restaurant, bar, and café, though I usually bring my own food to focus on the spa experience. One note: on my last two visits, massage therapists were talking loudly in the common area outside the sleeping area. Each time, I reported it, and staff immediately addressed the issue with management. I appreciated how quickly they handled it; something you don't see happen at Gangnam Spa. Overall, Spa World is my go-to Korean spa in Houston. The amenities, space, and friendly staff make it well worth a visit, and I typically spend five to six hours enjoying the baths, saunas, and relaxation areas.

We decided to try this place since they had a Groupon special which was probably $15 off of the original price. When we got there, the ladies were not friendly whatsoever. They did not welcome us or greet us but pretty much asked us what we wanted, which was pretty upsetting. We mentioned to the lady at the front that we had a Groupon and she declined to honor the deal we had. The price difference was $15 and I had bought two so total savings was $30. She mentioned we could pay the difference if we wanted to come in and so we did. However, the disrespect and false claim that they accept the Groupon discount already had me upset. We came into the women's locker room and honestly, it was nothing compared to Gangnam Spa, which we actually should've just gone to. They did have a good amount of pools, with a mix of hot and cold pools, however, the sauna and steam rooms we're very small. Probably the capacity of up to five people, which was disappointing. We wanted to book a spa experience, specifically the massage however there was never someone to take our order in the locker room. We usually spend the whole day at the spawn, but we cut it early since it was not what we really expected it to be. They did have some rooms like a forest, relaxation room, a cold room, a hot room with beads on the ground, with all several different benefits, however you could not relax because all the doors literally squeaked as people came in and out. Definitely will try another spa experience as this one definitely failed us.

We spent a whole afternoon here and would definitely do it again! Spa World is clean and spacious with 2 floors of different types of heated and cold rooms to relax your muscles and sweat out toxins. Each gender-separated change room is also compete with additional steam, sauna, hot pools and treatment rooms where you can get amazing add-on services like the 30 minute Korean scrub including full body exfoliation, a face wash and hair wash for $70. There is a cafe on the 1st floor where you can order drinks and Korean shaved ice ("Bing Soo") and a full on restaurant upstairs with noodles, fried chicken, and rice bowls.

My friend and I came here on a Tuesday evening to decompress. We found a Groupon for this location and went for it. This is a rundown for the spa. This is a Korean spa . When you first come to check in or buy tickets, you need to take off your shoes. Then you need to go to the locker room to change into their uniform and get two small towels. They'll give you a bracelet for scanning for any food or drinks that you buy while you're there . Their locker is like a high school size locker so you could put a backpack and a big bag in there. You're not allowed to use your phones in the locker room for privacy. And they do enforce that which I'm really glad about. (I had an emergency call and I forgot that rule and they called me out on that.) When you're in the locker room, I like to go take a quick shower in their baths rooms. In this section, you have to be fully nude. Like I am not kidding. Anyways, in this area, you can pay for an appointment have a body scrub to help exfoliate your skin . You can soak in various different temperature baths and there are two saunas. For showering there's a stand-up version and the sitdown version. They have a set of chairs that are clean and used so make sure you pay attention to those signs. They also have shampoo, conditioner, a soap bar, hair dryer if you want to use theirs. You are welcome to bring your own materials. After you're done with the quick rinse or if you just changing into your uniform , you can go out into the common areas where it is coed. There are a lot of different hot rooms of varying temperatures or texture , restaurants kids area, bar, theater, etc. There's also a lot of of lobby areas if you want to bring out your laptop and just chill. You can take your phone out in the coed areas and carry your phone with you. it's up to you if you want to bring the phone into the hot rooms but they have a small tray outside the hot rooms that you could just leave your phone there . They also have a restaurant and a small dessert café. The food is very mediocre and a little pricey. But I was here for five hours so I was pretty hungry. After I'm done with all the coed area, I go back to the locker and baths room and relax there and take a final shower to end the trip. Check out and pay for whatever I ordered. There's always at least one staff member within eyesight if you ever have any questions or concerned about something . In the locker room they have some small things if you need to buy tampons, face, mask, brush, toothbrush, etc for purchase. This place is good for like a couple or bestie hang out time. ( there is no coed locker rooms.) They do offer parties and large groups but I prefer one on one for quality time. Mind you this place is more focus on heat relaxation . There is one ice room. If you're really prone to heat, you'll probably be hanging out in the ice room or upstairs. Or any of the lobbies.

    Greetings

I wish I could give stars for Bizarre. I stepped into The Twilight Zone barefoot, was given my uniform, and firmly informed "No Clothes were Allowed!" Gender specific rooms separated naked males and females as they showered and enjoyed steam rooms, dry sauna, warm jacuzzis, and a cold pool. Stern Warning Signs Declared "There will be NO Tolerance for Sexual Behavior!"....ok,ewwww. I made a retreat to my locker and changed into my uniform

Spa World Houston is a must-visit for anyone that loves to disconnect, recharge, and unwind! The facility offers services if you're looking for a massage or scrub, but if you're simply looking for a soak and relax, this is the place to be! The space is airy, clean, and well-maintained. The staff is very professional with any questions you may have and there's even a restaurant on site so you can dine in without having to leave! I treated myself to a body scrub & would highly recommend this service! You come out feeling a new sense of rejuvenation from the layers scrubbed off! All-in-all, this is one of my favorite experiences in Houston and I can't wait to go back again!

We had a girls Classmate spa evening. When you walk in, you immediately remove your shoes and put them in a locker. There is an entry fee of $50+. Then you pay for your different service and /or food. The items are added to your bill by scanning this wristband watch that has a number on it. Bring a pair of socks if you don't want to walk barefooted.

Ask the Community - Spa World Houston

Is it ok to bring your own clothes in place of the uniform?

Do i/we need a reservation for massage ? Planning a bestfriend vacation. Thank you

Absolutely! It's always best to book the massage up front before you visit. Most of their massages are booked or late after 3-5pm. For general admission you don't need reservations but if you are getting any massages it's best you make a reservation!

Do you provide group sauna for five ladies?

The sauna rooms are for public use so they can certainly accommodate 5 ladies along with others who are not in your group.

What is the cleaning process? Specifically the shared areas many people are touching like the clay balls room?

Hello, I'm wondering can couples stay in the same sauna room? Or we need to make a reservation for this. Thank you.

The only area that is gender separate is the changing rooms with the hot tubs.

Good morning, I want to get a membership but wanted to ask a couple of questions. What are is in the vip lounge? If I get the gold package, is my companion able yo go in the vip lounge with me?

The VIP lounge has sofas, complimentary water, and exercise machines. Yes, the Gold package will give her access to the VIP lounge as well.

    Are tattoos alloweed?

Yes, you may have tattoos :)

    Can we wear bathing suits?

No you may not wear a bathing suit in the bath. You will be naked in the bath areas or wear the provided uniform in the common areas.

My husband was wondering if our 7yr old can play there while he gets a massage?

There is a kids area downstairs next to the snack area. I think they allow an hour for the children to be supervised by the staff in the child care area. It seems like a lot of fun in there. Train to ride and lots for kids to do.

How are the massages? Is there a particular person to ask for to get a good massage?

I enjoyed my Swedish message. Still don't really understand how Swedish massage differs from DeepTissue, but that's on me. I circled my areas of special concern on a questionnaire beforehand. When working on tight areas, the masseuse asked me if… Read more

How deep are the baths? I have been to spas that were very shallow, and I really needed the hot water on my shoulders.

Hello Eric. Our baths are traditional hot tubs with 'seats'. They are deep enough for you to sit in the bath and have water up to your shoulders. We hope to see you soon!

Do y'all have anything for couples like a couples massage?

Yes, they do but you need to call them to reserve a spot for two.

What benefits come with having acces to the lounge?

Hello David, the benefits to having access to the members lounge includes a fitness center, private seating area, television, and complementary drinks!

Yes that does include foot reflexology, we do not have any treatments available for pregnant women.

Are there any co Ed areas?

The majority of the place is coed. The only separate mens and women's areas are the locker room and bath area that contains the showers, jacuzzi and steam room.

This is a great place to do either. The first hour and a half in the men's area rotating between the steam room, sauna hot tub and cold plunge, losing track of the time and just soaking it. The sauna and the steam room each held around 5 to 7 people, respectively. Fortunately I didn't need to push the capacity limits since the crowd was extremely light, especially for for a weekend. I strolled around and checked out the other rooms and the bulgama room was scorching hot, in the best possible way. Broken up into two different dome spaces - one hot and the other extremely hot with a fireplace- that had the cozy smell of burning wood. A fantastic sensory experience. I popped by the restaurant and the Bulgogi stew was delicious. Prices were comparable to being outside of the spa, and the quality was just as good. The food came out piping hot with a little kimchi and some potatoes and a small bowl of rice on the side. I have been to more than a handful of Korean Spas and the features that make this one stand out are: Clean smells- sounds strange to have to say this but Gangnam was clean but didn't smell like cleaning products. Each space had a unique scent based on the desired effect - cedar, burning wood, eucalyptus, etc. Comfortable uniforms - woven, soft terry cloth sets that breathed well and were easy to move in. Unique experiences in small niches- hand spa to massage your hands, foot spa with a pebble bottomed pool, plenty of lounge spaces, vibrating plates for muscle activation or relaxation, I honestly didn't have time to do it all. The staff = top notch. Friendly front desk crew gave a great first impression. The superstar was the gal who helped me decide on a tasty dish in the restaurant, providing great descriptions for all of the choices. After 4 full hours, I needed to go to my next meeting and had to leave. Nevertheless I left feeling relaxed and satisfied. Verdict: Check it out but be sure to give yourself at least 4 hours.

And this is why the rating drops to THREE STARS However, the spa's current approach to cell phone use raises serious privacy and safety concerns. Multiple guests were openly using their phones in treatment areas and even inside the locker rooms -- including taking photos and videos in spaces where individuals are undressed. Locker rooms are universally recognized as places where people have a reasonable expectation of privacy, and recording in these areas can violate that expectation, regardless of intent. Allowing phones in environments where guests are changing creates a real risk of non‑consensual photography or video, which can have legal implications and exposes patrons to harm. Businesses that operate locker rooms and similar facilities typically have a duty of care to protect guests from exactly this type of privacy intrusion. I strongly encourage the spa to implement and enforce a comprehensive no‑phone policy throughout all treatment and locker room areas. A spa should be a place where guests feel safe, respected, and able to relax without worrying about being filmed or photographed in private spaces. PLEASE KEEP this SPA classy, with privacy rules and keep the ghetto out the door!

When I returned she advised me they offered three types of massages and that the AcuQi was the best one. The way it was presented made it seem like it was one of three types included in the package I already paid a deposit for. She then mentioned that hot stones could be added and when I asked how much she said $15 per person for one area. I agreed to pay the extra for the hot stone massage. When it was time to check out I was advised that we could save $10 if we left a 5-star review on Google before we left, hence the good ratings because they are giving you a $10 "discount". After I wrote the review, she advised me that we owed $160 minus the $10 for the review so we owed $150 on top of the $80 deposit we already paid. She said the AcuQi massage was $110 per person but as you can see from the screenshot it's listed as $90 per person on the website. The couples massage is listed as $130 but I was charged $160, as you can see from the screenshots. They also charge you a 3.95% fee for using a credit card but there is no fee if you use Venmo or Zelle. She never rung anything up on a cash register and gave me my total on a Post-it note. The fact that they are using Venmo and Zelle and not tracking their charges leads me to believe they are NOT paying their taxes or reporting their sales accurately. DO NOT use this place because they are dishonest. A potential client called while we were waiting and she pushed the AcuQi massage on her telling her it was the best they offered. I forgot to mention my massage was horrible! He used heavy pressure even after I asked him to lighten up.

Luxe Medical Aesthetics was a great experience from start to finish! I was looking to try IV…read moretherapy for the first time and my friend highly recommended them. I made my appt through Nelle, who made it super easy, Lauren made sure I was comfortable throughout the visit, and Tasha was the NP who started my IV and explained the different drip options they had available. They had a very comfortable waiting room, warming neck pillow, water, tea, snacks, blanket if you get cold, etc. The staff here really makes sure you have a comfortable and relaxing experience. 10/10 for service. As far as the IV, even if you're scared of needles, Tasha made it super easy. I honestly barely even felt it, it felt less than a small pinch for 1 second. I decided to try the Myers' Cocktail with added glutathione and ALA. This formula is full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, amino acids, and hydration. I usually don't sleep very well, but last night was the best sleep I've gotten in months. Overall, Luxe Medical Aesthetics highly exceeded expectations. I'd never had IV drip therapy before this, but they made it very approachable and explained every step of the process. I definitely want to come back to try their other options like peels, facials, and massages. Enjoy!

She was careful to tell me every step she was doing and inform me on how it will help. Everything was so soothing and I could see great results immediately- my face felt clear and glowy right after! Sana was extremely knowledgeable and soo helpful in telling me the problem areas that she could see and letting me know steps I can take to take better care of my skin. Everything and everyone was professional, clean, and were all taking COVID precautions. It was such an amazing experience and 10/10 recommend. I will definitely come back for another facial soon!
