This past Friday was my first time here. I was telling my best friend that I needed a massage, and I've been meaning to book one. I also saw that this place did Korean body scrubs and I was sold. I booked the Scrub Plus and my bestie book a 60-minute Swedish massage. Upon entering you have to remove your shoes, place them in a locker, check in and pay the entry fee. I found a coupon on Groupon the night before that allowed me to get in for 37.40 (first win). We were directed to the women's locker room to get undressed and put on the uniforms provided or wrap in a towel. I wrapped in a towel to shower and soak before my body scrub. My therapist was on time and she scrubbed a layer off of me. For an hour she scrubbed be head to toe, covered me in coconut oil, rinsed me numerous times, gave me a massage, washed and finished me off with a warm milk rinse. After may scrub, we walked around and explored the spa. That ride home was hard as a I was so relaxed all I wanted to do was sleep. I will now start to fit this into my self care cycle. read more

Currently writing in spa world and am highly disappointed. From check in I was told they ran out of a certain towel but I decided to let it go to enjoy my experience. To my surprise the entire experience has been unsatisfactory. The NOISE LEVEL IS OUT OF CONTROL. There was not one place in the entire facility where I could have quiet time. It sounded like I was in a high school cafeteria. Upstairs to get food and drink was the same experience. The sound of the golf balls hitting the wall was alarming. I did enjoy the thorough scrub I received but to say it was a relaxing experience would be a lie. Even in the sleep pod I have to constantly ask guests to lower their voices. Staff weren't reinforcing the quiet signs and guest took advantage. I will not be returning here. I've seen what the expectation should be and this did not meet it. read more

Hey fam! I'm super excited to be back and reviewing some awesome places. Today, I'm reviewing a spa in Houston you're going to want to run towards. Let's jump right into it! Spa World is the next level real deal. It's very serene, relaxing, and clean. If you've never gone, you're in for a treat. When you walk in, you're directed to put your shoes in a locker which will have a key. That key is your assigned number. You'll bring the key to the front desk, check in, and pay. You'll receive loungewear for wearing in the common area and a small towel. Additional towels are in the locker rooms. Listen! This is my third time here, so obviously it's a great place to relax. Anyway, you have the first level where you have the locker rooms for both men and women. Please be advised that the locker rooms are fully nude. If you decide to relax in the pools and baths, you'll have to take a shower first and be completely nude. Respectfully, no phone or recording devices are allowed in that area for obvious reasons, so I'm unable to show the actual inside. However, it is definitely relaxing and clean. Full staff is present and are very helpful. Once you come out the locker room, there is a small cafe and about seven relaxing rooms you can check out on the first level. My favorite rooms on the ground level are the pyramid, followed by the jade room. Also, if you have children, there is a place for them too. Once you navigate upstairs, the magic happens. You have a restaurant, golf simulator, full bar, vip room, a movie room, some additional relaxation rooms and a large lounging area for sleep and relaxation. Make sure to check out the forest room, which is literally a relaxing virtual nature walk that puts me to sleep instantly. Also, make sure to check out the restaurant upstairs. The food is phenomenal, but the pricing is a smidge high for the food. However, it is definitely worth it. You're looking at anywhere from $8 - $22 for menu items. Keep in mind, you'll need your checkin number watch that you will use for your purchases. This keeps track of all additional expenses you incur while in the spa. Once you check out, you'll make the payment for the items on your watch. The services they offer are massages and scrubs. They are fairly priced, but make sure to book a time in advance. This place is popular and the massages can be booked fairly quickly. I REPEAT! Plan in advance if you want to get a massage or body scrub. Also, I highly recommend the scrub/goddess. It's a little pricey, but your body will thank you. The staff are very polite. Don't be afraid to speak and ask questions. They are there to help you. I visited Spa World for my birthday and had a great time. I did go during the week so it wasn't crowded or anything. It was like having the whole spa to myself except a couple of people. I also booked a massage for my stay. It was amazing and I fell asleep lol! I did go to the spa by myself and I will say if I visited again I would bring a friend. It was nice to relax and recharge but I will say it would be better if you had someone to relax with. Like others mentioned you have to be barefoot but I wore my yoga socks to be more comfortable. Especially in the bathroom area. I would say my most favorite areas were the Himalayan salt room and the clay bead area. The food was ok, but if you're spending a whole day there then it works out to just eat there. Parking lot is huge so you don't have to worry about space. Overall I would return here if I'm ever in Katy! Tip- Bring your own items to take a shower. The body wash in the shower wasn't the best for your skin. read more

Enjoyed my experience here, they do have many rooms catered to relaxation. I noticed that a lot of the rooms are centered around heat and warm temps so if you're into that you'll like it. I did get a Swedish massage that put me to sleep so I would recommend. Only negative was my interaction in the beginning with front desk they didn't seem as attentive, also the place is pretty popular so there's going to be people there which can add noise but nothing crazy, it's best to go during the week in the morning. read more

My husband bought me a body scrub for valentines. Do NOT get this. First off you are nude in the bath area on a table basically out in the open with no privacy. Secondly, they clean you with water from a trash can. Third, it might be the most unsanitary spa experience ever. There was no "luxury" about it. They scrub you with a bar of old soap and pour milk out of a jug on you while a lady rubs you down in her bra and underwear. This experience should not cost 175+ 55 to get Into the building. They offer the services you would expect like massage, reflexology, body scrubs, facials, experience rooms, relaxation areas, food and drink. I like that there is an outside space. The food imo is much better than some other Korean spas in the area. But I that other spa too! Lots of open spaces not overly crowded, at least on the day that I went. Staff is friendly and helpful. It is a Korean spa, so you will be given a uniform and an arm band to keep track of your charges. There are also non-coed spaces in which you will only have a towel. But there are literally women of all ages and cultures; the atmosphere is relaxing and non-judgmental. I know it's scary at first, but it's actually cool to be in an environment where women aren't judgy and all in the same boat so to speak. You just have to experience it to understand what I mean. Visited Spa World last month with my friends. We had a grand time. I wish we planned to spend more time here than we originally planned. I really enjoyed the various rooms, specifically the clay ball pit room. This was a great way to relax with friends! I booked a scrub plus and I felt like a baby afterwards. Seriously - the ajumma scrubbed my entire body. She did not miss any spots!! My only gripe with this spot is that you have to pay for admission on top of the service you book... you'd think that admission is included with the service, but it's not. The parking lot was spacious although one of the ramps to enter the lot is at a steep incline so you'll have to slow down to enter to not scratch the front end of your vehicle. Once inside you'll see small lockers for your shoes. Open a locker with a key, place your shoes inside, then lock the door and remove the key. The key will be handed to the receptionist at the front where you'll pay for general admission, be handed small towels and your uniform. There are separate gender locker rooms. It was very clean throughout the facility. The heated pools were nice, I wished the water levels were like at neck level than barely chest level. The saunas were nice and steamy. The various rooms to relax in (forest, ocha, Himalayan salt, pyramid, and volcano, artic) were all ok. They do have a bar for just beer and wine, virtual golf, a kids area too, and movie rooms. What I really enjoyed was the food. I got a bulgogi bibambap. It came hot and sizzling, had korean chives, carrots, mushroom, zucchini and a fried egg on top. It looked so colorful and was presented so well. I wish I had taken my phone for a photo. It also came with a few side dishes (korean potato salad, pickled mung bean sprouts, kimchi, and pickled daikon and seaweed) it was good. Not too salty, cooked well, the meat was tender. I also ordered a vegetable pancake, it was large as a medium sized pizza. I then came to realize that most of the dishes were meant to share family style and was appreciative that my friend was willing to eat my food. It was an experience, something I've never done. During a recent visit, A guest disregarded the posted rules about cellphones in the wet area. He noticed this violation while doing a random check of the area and quickly corrected the guest but professionally. I think a day alone in this place a a must for busy people who get "peopled" out! I had one hell of a week where most of my days were 10-14 hours. My entire body hurt and my brain was even sore. I went by myself and stayed from 2:30-10:00 pm. It was AHHHHHMAZING! I hit every area in the bath and sauna area. Everything is SO clean and the vibe of the place just puts you at ease. The saunas were so relaxing. I got the 110 min massage and it was a little too much pressure but I did ask for a lot of pressure so I'll ask for medium next time. The food is fantastic, flavorful and plenty. The outside terrace was perfect to digest slowly while reading a book. I got to nap in the private napping rooms, the theater and the forest room. I would have slept over if I could. I slept like a baby that night I was so relaxed. A gift card to this place is all I need as a gift ever. Thank you guys for keeping the place clean and a great place to come. **(not about the venue)The ONLY bad experience was when I was napping in the theater a guy was in there too and got on his phone on speaker and was speaking so loudly with no regard for me at all. This place is well known by most, but this was my first visit. It certainly seemed popular with many visitors coming in and out when I came on a Saturday afternoon with my 2 friends. You walk in the entrance and are given a key for a locker for your shoes. After you put your shoes away, then you check in at the front. And sign a detailed waiver that you rescind all liability to the business as a whole, and will be fined if you destroy property, and you may be asked to leave at any time and must leave. I was thinking to myself, what has happened in the past as to why this is needed for a spa? I used a Groupon for the $49 entry fee. Then I thought I bought a Groupon for the massage, but it turns out they don't have Groupon for massages. It was for a different place. Awe, man! Perhaps I came in with the incorrect expectations. But I did not leave more relaxed than when I entered. It was more of a sensory center. We didn't get a tour, so we just tried to figure it out as we went along. There were several hot rooms and 1 cold room that you could stay in, for relaxation. And you just sort of stay in each room for as little or as long as you want, and try to zen out. Some people were sleeping in one room, like adult nap time. Some of the rooms were occupied, and some had space for multi groups. We tried to hit up each place, the salt room, the gold room, the fire dome, etc. I will say it's a great place to lounge around for a while, but you can do that at other spas as well. I noted in reviews that people come to work on their laptops here, so for some, this may be appealing. The entrance fee seems to just get you access to the many mini rooms, but the real spa items are separate costs. I opted not to get the massage or any other add ons since I had already paid for another place unknowingly. Honestly, I did not get a lot of info at the front desk about how best to go about the experience, so maybe it would have been a better experience if I had more understanding? Not sure. It's definitely the Katy, Texas, watered down version full of couples, and stay at home moms, or working moms skipping work. Nothing wrong with that... but just know (in my experience) there are alot of newbies who find this place cool, and are very chatty... so not necessarily the relaxing, quiet oasis you may be looking for. If so, try Gangnam Spa, btw. I did enjoy my time here with my friends and they do have different rooms than Gangnam, like the clay ball room (forgot what it's actually called). Many rooms are super hot- like over 100 degrees, so please keep that in mind. The communal pools-- NO BATHING SUITS. When in Rome... go commando and respect the Korean Day Spa rules. Don't be shy. First time at a spa ever. Was here on a Friday afternoon. Once you enter in, you have to put the shoes you walked in with in a small locker. You're given a spa uniform, which is a t-shirt and shorts, with 2 small blue towels. Men are given a different color uniform than the women. I asked for a tour but it ended up just being a brief overview of the place and pointing out a few key spots. The floors were not cold and very clean. Didn't even need my socks. The gender-separated lockers are bigger than the locker in front and you are given a key with a wristbrand to wear throughout your time there. The restrooms, pools, saunas, and showers are also right there. I actually thought the pools were co-ed and would be in a separate area. Like the reviews said, you do have to feel comfortable with being nude and seeing nudity once you enter the locker/shower area. Your hair has to be tied up when you're in the pool and no cameras allowed. Outside of the locker/shower area, there's no need to be nude. I booked a Shiatsu Massage online and didn't realize I had to arrive 20 minutes early. It got pushed back, which was needed. They only have female masseuses. The lady I had was Lucy. Never done a shiatsu massage so I didn't fully know what to expect beyond one Youtube video I watched. All my clothes had to be off. She emphasized that there is no oil involved, but ended up applying a lot of oil when she initially said she will use a little. She also kept asking if I liked a swedish or deep tissue massage. She started off hard but switched to gentler strokes. I felt sore later in the day in certain areas of my body. The oil they use for massages is coconut oil. Was I relaxed? No. But I've never really felt relaxed during a massage except once. Massages are once in a blue moon experiences for me. There are rooms upstairs and downstairs. Both levels have an area to dine. Upstairs has some private rooms and an area with a stage and large TV screen with recliners and long couches. Wifi is available. Saw a few individuals with laptops. I think I tried/looked at every room they had: Ocher Ball Room (145 F, it gets pretty hot) Pyramid Room Jade Room (93 F, salt with heat) Far infrared wave room Forest room (ok) Arctic Room (43 F) Himalayan Salt Room (136 F, it's pretty hot) Fire dome (super hot, feet will burn) Theater room (big screen with recliner chairs; played Adam Sandler movie; they have different streaming services available) Private Golf rooms + open area for golf Downstairs had mats to lie down on and sleep off, cool down, or whatever. For a Friday, it seemed semi-busy later in the afternoon. I would say it wasn't crowded enough because you could find an empty room for a few minutes or a room with 1 or 2 people. Most people came in a group (family or friends) or as a couple. They provide free water with small cups in the lockers and by the restaurant upstairs. You can also bring a water bottle. This is my 2nd visit to Spa World. Really chill place to come and hang out. They got karaoke rooms, steam rooms, hot rooms, cold rooms, movie room, open terrace, a bar, a restaurant, a mini convenient store... they offer paid massage/exfoliation and other various things. oh oh and a golf area to practice your bad swings away. Really chill, really nice, gotta get used to being completely nude in the gender specific pool areas. Come here when you need an escape the world for a bit. Alright everyone here's the deal. I went to this location on Saturday June 28 in search of a serene spa experience. From the second I walked into the lobby, this was not that. The lobby was so loud that the ladies at the registers had to ask a group of guys to lower their volume. If only those ladies could've enforced the quiet zones throughout the rest of the building... Noise could be heard in every space, wet and dry. I tried to enjoy some quiet time in the cold pool - I couldn't because there was a large group of teenaged boys basically turning the wet area nto their personal water park. I tried to enjoy peace and quiet in the jade room but couldn't - a staff member (!) was loudly holding a conversation with a guest right outside the room in a zone clearly marked "Quiet." I tried to go into one of the personal pods, but there was a girl giving her friend a virtual tour via Facetime! I am so disappointed because the building really is beautiful. There just needs to be staff ENFORCING THE RULES. There was literally not a single area that was devoid of noise. Unbelievable. If you are into spas where you can run around and talk to your friends and take selfies and do tik toks in the meditation rooms, this place is for you. Really neat place and concept. You get to enjoy saunas at different temperatures, cold rooms, and pools with your entry pass. However anything else like golfing, cafeteria, karaoke, massages, and movie room is an extra fee. I spent a good 5 hours with my friends exploring all the rooms that are included with entry, and we ate lunch in the cafeteria. The Korean food is very solid, I think we all enjoyed it. The cold noodles and black bean noodles were excellent. The fried chicken was okay, but for $23 for 4 pieces of chicken I don't think it was very worth it. This was my first time at Spa World and I was looking forward to a relaxing Christmas day here. Check-in was easy and the staff was friendly. Overall, I thought the facility was nice and clean. However, I would've preferred to be able to wear slippers or something in the bathroom instead of going barefoot. There are signs posted on all of the rooms asking for people to be quiet. However, those signs were largely ignored by a lot of the spa-goers. One woman pulled out her cell phone in the Himalayan salt room and proceeded to have a full-blown, loud conversation. It didn't seem that the quietness was enforced. I also decided to have some lunch at the Korean restaurant upstairs. However, the ramen was very mediocre and was too salty. read more

I really wanted to like this spa. Having gone to Korean Spas for 20 years there are a few standard Korean Spa items that don't hit the mark for me: 1) They should have complimentary water and tea dispensers all over the coed and lobby spaces. Other spas will have water accessible everywhere. That's what makes it a Korean spa. 2) My biggest issue is that they do not fill the hot spas all the way past the breast level and therefore the water doesn't properly get filtered. It's weird and doesn't allow you to fully soak your entire body and keeps you more exposed. 3) the jets in the spas are useless. 4) the temperature of the hot spas aren't warm enough and they don't align with the temperature signs. 5) they don't provide slippers to walk around in. There's puddles of dirty water everywhere that you have to walk in barefoot. 6) unlike other Korean spas in LA, the attendants don't constantly clean. 7) the snack cafe downstairs is overpriced and I had the worst hibiscus tea. Scrub was pretty good, but other than that it was not the best experience, but what made it great was the people I was with. Restaurant upstairs was decent. (Don't get the baked eggs. This place is awesome! They have a bunch of amenities and is super great for relaxing and enjoying a day of leisure! When you walk in, you immediately take off your shoes, place them in a locker, and grab your key! The locker you choose will have a number assigned to it, which you will take with you to the front counter. As you get checked in, you'll hand over the key, along with your ID and the employees will give you a new key for your locker in the saunas. You'll also get a uniform that you'll wear after entering the facilities. Once you're in, you go straight the saunas. This area requires your to be fully nude and there are no phones allowed. They have multiple hot tubs, along with a cold pool, and jets. There's also a steam room and a dry sauna. These areas are gender specific. I recommend brining your own toiletries, but they have shampoo, body wash, etc available for use, Once you're done in the saunas, you can put on the uniform and access the rest of the building. They have multiple hot rooms down stairs along with a cafe. Upstairs they have other very relaxing rooms like the forest room and far Infrared room. Spent the day here as we had a Groupon for 3. Girls day out of course . You check in and get a bracelet with a number to a locker to put your shoes in . Then you get a spa outfit which consists of a top and pair of shorts. Then we went directly to the women's locker room and changed out of our clothes and then after a quick shower we had the choice of a few pools of different temperatures. ( No bathing suits allowed) . Also there is a dry and wet sauna which was fabulous! Upstairs there's more rooms to try including this one that had clay beads to lay on so cool ! Definitely worth the trip here ! We went to Bori recently and saw that the admission tickets are sold for $25 any day which is cheaper than paying at the door/online. It's in Katy and so it was about 40 minutes drive. The last visit to a Korean spa was Gangnam and then Spa Castle in Dallas, TX. This spa was opened in 2019 and how come I just found out now?? Checked in was simple where they gave me a watch (scanner) with a key to the locker. Placed my shoes by the entrance. Pick up my 'uniform' at the counter. They charge $2 for bath towel rental but you can bring your own. Find your locker when you enter; shower and scrub before getting into any jacuzzi/sauna/steamed room. There were some hand towels by the entrance to the shower place. Toothbrush and toothpaste were provided but didn't see any hair conditioner. They provided bars of soap which I didn't care for. Love the steamed sauna and there's a overhead cold shower faucet right outside. I used it numerous times and LOVED it! I tried all rooms from salt, gold to the fire room. Watch your feet as the fire room was super hot. The first 5 seconds were bad but eventually you get use to the burning heat. There were numerous resting areas and the floor was heated. One can definitely take a night nap as it's dark. The oxygen room was very relaxing since it was dark and there was constant birds chirping with the forest backdrop. Ice room wasn't that cold but it's a must to go in between all these hot rooms. Didn't try the restaurant but got a couple of drinks to stay hydrated. I didn't try their Korean scrub as it's something like the Turkish bath where dead skin are removed. Love the ample parking and all the art decorations on the 2nd floor. It used to be such a respite, but lately too many loud conversations and people having speakerphone conversations or listening to videos, especially in the sleeping cubby areas. This is more than a spa! This is a Houston experience. I visited mid 2020 with a few friends. We planned to dedicate a few hours...which between a scrub treatment, tour from the manager, exploration of all the rooms, boba break, virtual golf observation, a short nap & visit to the cafe morphed into the whole day. When we last visited, they mentioned the option of staying overnight. I'm not sure if they've implemented it yet, but you really could enjoy yourself for that long! Spa World Houston was simply blissful. It's clean from the moment you check in. You are required to put your outside shoes into a locker before entering, so I just knew this place was legit from the start. You take the clothes they give you, put your stuff into an assigned locker with a key you hold onto, shower (required), change into their clothes, then you're pretty much free to enjoy the whole facility at your own leisure. There's a variety of things to do that's included with the general admission day pass. Steam room, sauna, jacuzzies of different temps ranging from cold to warm to hot, sleeping rooms, theater room, karaoke room, virtual golf, rooftop patio, and a multitude of different temperature controlled rooms with different health benefits. My personal favorites were the ocher ball room, artic room, jade room, and the fire dome. Just beware, the fire dome is HOT but it's the best way to sweat out all of your body's toxins. Then don't sleep on their cafe/restaurant, their korean food was tasty especially for the price/portion size. I will definitely be back again soon! My cousins and I might make this our monthly hangout spot to relax and have a good time together. read more

Got a deep tissue Aida was so good with her hands, I rested so well!! I went there around 10:30 am and check in was fast and it was peaceful until around 1 pm lot of people started coming. I was next to the dome trying to take a nap and these 3 women next to the pyramid were so loud and disrespectful. Now the spa has signs everywhere asking to be quiet. read more

I visited Spa World this past Sunday for some r&r. I believe the rates are $49 for weekend and $40 for week day admission. Any additional services can be purchased same day or you can make reservations in advanced. Upon entering you choose a locked to store your shoes and then proceed to the counter with they key. Once you pay admission they give you a scannable wristband with a key attached for your designated locker in the locker area. I got to use all of the amenities and rooms and didn't purchase any extra services this time. My favorites were the Himalayan salt room and the clay ball pit room. It was definitely a great to detox and hangout with friends after a birthday weekend. read more

Spa World is definitely a place to go if you are looking to unwind and relax. For only $40 you have access to several saunas, steams and quiet rooms. Each room has a different benefit that is noted on the door before entering. No shoes are allowed in the building. When entering you are given a key to place your shoes inside a locker. You will also receive a top and bottom to change inside the dressing room. The community area has a restaurant, golf ($15 per person) and resting areas. If you decide you want a massage or scrub (this is extra) you can set that up at the desk. Inside the sauna you are naked! Theres a male side and a female side. Just imagine a bath house; thats what it reminds me of. I got a scrub ($70) and my skin felt so soft and smooth afterwards. Definitely recommend! Please be careful if you have health issues. Theres is also a caution signs located stating Elderly persons and those suffering from heart disease, diabetes, high or low blood pressure should consult then sician before using the spa. Pregnant women should not use the spa without consulting their physician. The use of this spa while under the influence of alcohol, anticoagulants, antihistamines, vasoconstrictors, vasodilators, stimulants, hypnotics, narcotics or tranquilizers should be avoided. persons should spend no more than fifteen (15) minutes in the spa at any one (1) session. read more
