Trek Flower Mound came highly recommended to us by another Trek store but we were highly disappointed in their service. We had came in for service / rebuild of our FX2. We understood the cost of a rebuild was more than getting a new bike but the bike has sentimental value to my husband and we wanted it done right. We were checked in by Mike whom recommended the service level 2 and below part replacement. He assured us that the bike will be taken apart cleaned/inspected. From there he will let us know if additional parts will be required. We were quoted $456.74 which we agreed too. 2 - New tires 2 - New tubes New chain New shift brake lever New cables New hand grip After 2 weeks we went back to pickup the bike and we're informed that they noticed the derailer hanger bolt was missing when they took the bike apart to clean but besides that everything was in working order. We were told that the bike was safe to ride and agreed to order the bolt and come back for it later. We took the bike home and rode it around the block at which point it became evident that it was not working properly and making lots of noise. We took the bike to The Trek shop at Scheels. Where upon inspection a service level 2 was not preformed as the below issues was found. We were not informed of any of the issues by Trek Flower Mound. Chain ring was worn out and MUST be replaced. (Pictures included) Front / rear hub was dried out and making metal noise Bottom bracket bearing was shattered Headtube bearing was not serviced / greased Break router was not serviced Bike was not cleaned throughly as dried black gunk was found throughout the bike. ( bike drive train was degreased/ cleaned) If Trek Flower Mound had done the service level 2 they would have noticed all of the above issues and could have notified us. We would have approved the service/replacement. We ended up having to paying for an additional level 3 service and new parts to get the bike in working ordering. We are deeply disappointed at the service level that we received. This is my husband's first Trek bike and has lots of sentimental value to him. It's not about the cost of getting the bike fixed as we have at this point spent more on getting it fixed than buying a new one. We just wanted the job to be done right. To us Trek Flower Mound was only interested in selling new bike and not interested in servicing/rebuild an old Trek. They took advantage of our lack of knowledge in bike and service level. read more

I brought my bike, which I bought here, for general service last month. Everybody was polite. I rode it home after they fixed it and parked it in the shed where it generally stays. The next week I started to ride it and the front tire was completely flat with a large leak. I took the tire off and paid another approximate $20 for the repair, I bought a better liner. The next week I went to put the tire on the bike and it was flat again. I took it in, told them I had never even used it yet and the guy wanted to keep it "because rubber is porous and maybe the air naturally leaked out." I picked it up and they compensated the work because they "didn't know if it was their fault or something else punctured it." I said i had never had a chance to use it yet, he told me they had "no way of knowing that," like I was possibly being dishonest and a $5 tube on my then $500 bike. How humiliating. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted and helped within seconds of entering the store. I explained to the gentleman what had happened to my bike earlier in the week. I hit something sharp in the road and my back tire and inner tube had become completely flat. The salesman introduced me to one of the technicians and he explained to me my options for repair and went over pricing very clearly. I'm not bike savvy so I ordered my ebike, sent it directly to the shop to assemble. They charged me $75. (prices could vary depending on the type of bike) Yes, you can usually assemble these ebikes yourselves, but these guys are professional and you just cannot go wrong. Very close (riding distance) to the North Shore trail, ask the employees for shop rides and other group rides! Excellent selection of bikes and other cycling paraphernalia. Horrible customer service. Called and ordered 2 Marlin 5 Trek bicycles. They told me they had to build them and it would take a day or two. Three days later I call and ask for a status and the guy tells me very rudely it would be a few days. Hmmmm... two weeks later I call them and they have no record of me ever even calling or my name or number or especially the bikes I have been waiting two weeks for. The guys at this bike shop are AMAZING!!! Despite the fact that they are incredibly busy during this crazy season (when everyone has decided to ride bikes again) they always come out and greet me when I stop by. They help me get my bikes into the shop. They check things out quickly and are always doing freebie adjustments to my bikes. The team at Bicycles Plus quickly rallied and created a generous plan to make it possible, including meeting us before sunrise at the event venue, adjusting the bike to fit her perfectly, and picking it up a few hours later. We were all floored by their tremendous care and effort to support us, and they were so friendly to boot! This company went above and beyond in every way. I'm a huge believer in letting shops make things right with their customers, but I do not like it when they try and take advantage of them. With Bicycles Plus, they received three strikes with one journey. I went in last week to get an estimate on servicing two bikes. One was in decent shape, but had a chain rattle and needed the rims adjusted. The other I knew would be a bit of work. For the first, they offered a $100 tune-up. I've yet to this day been able to figure out what this entails. There was no sign, no literature, and the techs were vague at best. I figured $100 would get what I needed, albeit a bit overpriced, and save me the work myself. The process took several days and when I got the bike back, they wanted an extra $20 for a cassette since the old one was "rattling while shifting" Sure, fine, another $20 on top of $100 tuneup will make the bike like new. After getting the bike back and getting hurried out the store, I took it out for a spin. The tires were deflated, the chain rattle is still there, and the cassette still makes a noise while shifting! What they did, I'll probably never no, but from what I can guess is it took almost a week to do nothing. Strike two happened with the other bike. It's an old racing bike that I hold dear. I knew it needed a lot of work (tires, tubes, brake pads, chain, etc) but the frame was in great shape. The looked it up and down and offered a deal of $300 to look at it, plus parts. They wanted to sell me new tires at $60 each to start. After saying I would think about it and call back, I left the store with a new bike for my wife. As I was being hurried out the store with the new bike, I was asked by the tech if I would like to donate it. I said I would think about it and call back as I might be able to source parts for cheaper. I went on Amazon and found all of the parts they were trying to sell for $55 and decided to do the work myself. Strike three happened the next day when I called to inform them my intentions of keeping the bike. Apparently their "donation program" consists of whichever tech mentions it, keeps the bike. I was told that the tech who helped the day prior had already taken it home to work on which I found very odd. They said to call back the next day when he would be back. Anxiously, I waited and called the next day and found out that the tech misheard me, took the bike, and had already started stripping it! I asked for my bike back immediately before they did anything else and drove up there as fast as I could. Already the tires and tubes were taken off, and noticeable a new chain had been put on. I asked for my parts back, and they tried charging me $20 for a chain! After a bit of arguing, they did concede to let me have the chain because they couldn't find my original one. After this nightmare experience, I cannot recommend Bicycles Plus to anyone and will never be dealing with them again. read more

I bought a new mountain bike at another shop, that from the first ride didn't shift properly and would barely stay in gear. I returned it to that shop around a dozen times and it still didn't shift properly. I gave up on that shop and brought it here. After the service and part replacement here (some warranty), the bike shifts reliably ie this shop accomplished what the other shop couldn't fix in a ~dozen times and over a month. read more

The best bike shop in town, bar none! I am a cyclist through and through and have been to all of the bike shops in Dallas area. There are certainly a few good ones but Bicycles Plus stands above the bunch. The service department is exceptional at Bicycles Plus and this is a big deal for me. Their mechanics are thorough and keep my rig tuned up and running smoothly. Problems are met with a good attitude and they help you get it fixed. Most importantly the employees are people that love bikes, riding them and being around people that like bikes. They understand some people ride lots and other people are new to cycling so even if you need a cruiser or a fitness bike they will help make sure you are on exactly what you need so you can enjoy it! I love this store! I was searching and searching for a new fixed geared bike. I went in there and the staff was extremely helpful. I think the guys name that helped us was James and he was awesome. We were considering building a bike and he was kind enough to price everything out. They had a decent selection of road bikes and mountain bikes plus all of the essentials you may need. This is where we go to buy all our needs. We are fixie riders and they do not offer much in that area but no one does around here. We live in Plano and have always gone to Bike shops closer to us, but the bike she recommended was just to good to pass up. We went and met Peter! I just bought some bike accessories at the Flower mound store and the employees were very helpful. I want to say I don't know any of the employees or have any connection with this store. I know in some reviews that might be the case but not this one. I was greeted when I walked into the store and the young man was helping another customer at that time. I walked towards the back of the store where everyone was working on bikes. an employee asked if I needed help and to ask if I needed anything. later, I asked him various questions about accessories for a Electra bike and was so helpful. As mentioned in another review of a different shop, I'm new to cycling. I came to this location as a second choice, because it is a little inconvenient for me. I sought it out to purchase speed and cadence sensors. I did not have specific items in mind, but was generally familiar with what was available from online research. Walking into this store, the experience was nearly 180 from my experience with another local shop. That is to say, Bicycles Plus was great. The staff was a little older (a plus in my opinion), and so were more professional, and attitude free. The store was larger and so the selection was greater. The very common item I was shopping for was in stock, as would be expected. The gentleman helping me even got online to verify a spec I asked about (ANT+ to be sure). They had an open repair shop which was cool to watch, since again I have no experience have never seen that. I made a mental note that they were professionally helping another customer next to me with a huffy mountain bike, which reflects well upon them for, again, not having that aloofness. Though it's a bit further, I will definitely consider this my go to shop. read more
