The older gent at the counter was super helpful and didn't make me feel like a newbie. They were converting into a Trek branded store and with the pandemic, sold out of almost all the bikes. Walked in to check on mountain bike selection. I immediately checked on a bike that was 3,199 and is now 3,499 a few days later. I know Trek just increased prices by 10% but this usually doesn't affect bikes already on the floor. I spent a few minutes in the showroom and no one approached me so I left. My husband and I decided it was time to join the many others on the local trails who are cyclists. Now, I have not been on a moving bike in eons, but I know it is good exercise just from my time in spinning class. Why not do a "spinning" class outside in the fresh air and sunshine! We shopped on Labor Day. They were packed with customers and only a few employees. We did have to wait a while to get help, but the employee apologized profusely. We explained what type of bikes we wanted and we were paired up with perfect fits. The employee even asked if we wanted to take the bikes for a quick spin outside, which I thought was cool. We also chose iPhone holders as well as cup holders, which the employees placed on the bikes so we did not have to do it ourselves. Super happy and love the new exercise! read more

I've been going to Bicycles Plus in Coppell for quite some time now. It started a couple years ago when I wanted to understand carbon wheels. I went to every bike shop I could think of close to me (Allen, Tx). All the other 7 shops said was either, "Those are the ones we sell the most" or "This brand is my favorite" At Bicycles Plus, Mike Gacki gave me 20 minutes on the science of carbon wheels in a manner I could understand it. And then, he told me the wheels I have on my bike are pretty good wheels. I bought from Mike. Since then, I bought a bike, numerous tires, tubes, etc from them. They are 22 miles away. My aunt let me borrow her bike that hadn't been used in awhile. I know nothing about bikes, and haven't been on a bike that's not stationary for probably over ten years. The tires were flat and I thought it might need some tuning up, so I took it to Bicycles Plus. I walked in and was immediately greeted. I explained that I had a bike that may need tuning up, and he offered to help me bring it in. When we went out to my car to get the bike, he saw my dog and told me that I could bring him in, too. I love dog friendly places! He brought the bike in for me, put it up on a lift, blew up the tires and checked everything out. I was even asked to get on the bike, to be sure it was the right height. Knowing I'm a novice, he could've tried to sell me accessories and services, but to my surprise, he said it was good to go. Cost free! Thanks to the guys at Bicycles Plus for getting my new hobby off to a painless start! Now let's hope it continues that way. Went here because I had messed with bike and had evidently ended up destroying my left crank arm and bottom bracket. My first visit, I was explicitly told that I just needed to replace my left crank arm, so I did that. Walked out satisfied and happy. THEN about a month later the arm loosens up again and I take it in again. They told me that it loosened up because the bottom bracket was warped as well, and that I would need to pay for all the repairs and replacements despite not having been given all the necessary details originally. In what world does it seem that that's okay? I decided that I would go ahead and let them do this replacement but probably not go back for any more help from now on. Then, to top it all off, the bolts on my crank weren't tightened after I got it back and as a result I've lost two of them. I am not even going to try to get recompense for my money because I know it won't be given. I ride a fixie so it has very few parts to begin with, so my question is this: how is it possible to mess this up this bad? To too it all off I've always been treated with contempt when I go in there. Not really a nice place with not really nice people. This place is about five minutes from my apartment in Irving but I am now going to be driving into Dallas to get my repairs. read more

I have only gone here to get repairs on my bicycle. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. They don't try to sell me other things I don't need, but will make sound and reasonable suggestions that I usually end up taking. Repairs have taken a few minutes, but I only needed to have the tube and tire replaced when I did go there. They have made my day the few times I have been here. read more

The people here are so helpful! My husband and I came here to look for bikes and ended up buying two! Rich and Mike did an awesome job in helping us find the perfect bikes. Moreover, they were not pushy in trying to sell us on the bikes (which I hate in some salesman). Overall, they did a great job in explaining the difference between each of the bikes that we tested and was honest in telling us what bikes we should get if we're only doing causal ridings versus more intense mountain biking etc. I really recommend coming here to get bikes! read more

Mike and everyone at Bicycles Plus Rocks - and they care! This is the only place to buy a bike. I wanted to upgrade to a road bike, had a price point I liked, and had done some basic research before shopping. I test rode several bikes at various stores in the area. Some salespersons listened to me and tried to find something that would fit my needs, but others seemed to barely care as to what I was saying. So, I went to Bicycles Plus in Coppell to see if they could help. Mike greeted me and listened to me explain what I was looking for (with the limited knowledge I had, I knew I wanted a Cannondale). I had questions about differences in brands and other items, and he was patient, but not pandering. Within five minutes, Mike pulled a bike that I test rode and liked that was also within my price point. However, I wanted to wait and think about the decision. At no point did Mike make me feel as if I needed to buy the bike immediately. He was a patient guy, even if he joked that I would be back. He was cool - not a creepy salesman or some teenager who doesn't know bikes. When we returned (after visiting one more store to test ride a different brand), Mike then pulled another Cannondale that better fit my needs and I was sold! It was perfect for me! We purchased the bike, and also new pedals and shoes after Mike made suggestions as to which ones would fit my needs. In addition, they also fit my frame to the bike - this had not been done for me before and made a world of difference. Less than two weeks into my new bike honeymoon, I was hit by a car while riding. Thankfully, I was not too damaged, but my brand new bike was pretty messed up. I dropped it off at Bicycles Plus, and they were more concerned about me than the bike. The guys at the shop were able to pull a quote for repairs for insurance, inspect every inch of the bike and my gear to make sure it was all still safe and working, and fixed the bike in 24 hours! Mike personally called me to see if I was doing okay - seriously, who does this anymore? They actually have customer service! Overall, this place is great. I would give more stars if I could. There are closer shops, and bigger shops, but Bicycles Plus in Coppell is MY shop. It should be your shop, too! read more

We had a good impression due to all the raving reviews and after visiting, we now see why it is such a highly rated bike shop. We walked in and noticed the store was pretty bare but weren't surprised due to covid. We did some researching on our own and had an idea of type of bike we wanted. We wanted to learn more about bikes and get fitted. We were greeted by Mike who was very kind, educational, and took his time with us. We appreciated all the information he shared and how we wasn't pushy with sales at all (I especially appreciated that). We chatted with him for a bit and then look around the shop. We decided to order two bikes and Mike told us it can take anywhere from 2-14 weeks. I appreciated his honesty with the timeline and how he told us that before ordering. One great thing about this shop is you get free lifetime bicycle adjustments for life - most shops in the Dallas area don't offer that. Thanks Mike for a fun bike shopping experience. Though this is long overdue, I have to rave on this location for the great experience I had there. I called a week and change before a big race because I was having some serious saddle pain issues that I had previously attributed to not spending enough time on the bike during training. However, I figured that having a bike fitting couldn't hurt, since I hadn't adjusted the bike since buying it a few years ago (please withhold your judgement...) I spoke with the store manager, Jeremy, who talked me through my domestic dispute with my saddle and made an appointment for me the next day to come in. Upon arriving for my fitting, Jeremy was incredibly helpful and really took the time to play around with the adjustments on my bike. I noticed a huge difference in my posture immediately, even before getting my bike out on the road for a test ride the next day. In all, I spent about an hour in the store and enjoyed how helpful and friendly all of the staff were. They also play great music in the store, so I'd go there just to hang out even if I didn't have a bicycle issue. The only reason I'm docking one star is because this location doesn't have much in the way of triathlon apparel selection, but I suppose that's not really their primary focus. In all, I walked out of there with a vastly more comfortable bike that was also freshly cleaned and oiled, my new favorite pair of bike shorts, and a go-to place for any bike issues I have while in Dallas! read more
