I came here to get my bike tuned up and appreciated the quick turnaround! It only took two days for them to get my bike ready (other shops I called had wait times up to 2 weeks). It was so nice not having to be without my bike for long since I'm training for a race. The amount of selection for accessories is also great, and all the employees have been super friendly. The used car salesman tactic is not appreciated. I've had this happen to me three times so far, so at this point it's a pattern. I always avoid the Cary store whenever I can because I've been up sold on three separate occasions, a water bottle holder, a cleaning product, and a kick stand. The latter time, my current kickstand was actually insulted before they recommended a new kick stand. First of all, the covid measures are a little over the top. Making customers stand in the baking sun without acknowledgment for 15 minutes until someone comes to retrieve them is a little ridiculous. The store is quite large and everyone is wearing masks, why so militant about the number of people inside? There was never THAT many people trying to come in the store, and there is plenty of space to spread people out in the air conditioning. Trek's covid customer experience is far worse than any other triangle area business I've been to, including restaurants. If you can't figure out a way to accommodate customers better than you currently are, you should just remain closed until things get back to normal. Secondly, the upselling was tiresome and cringe worthy. Trying to get in and out of your store to accomplish a simple task is nearly impossible. I had an appointment to drop my bike off for routine maintenance service. My time was needlessly wasted as employees suggested a host of products I didn't want (everything from cleaning solutions to a new kickstand - because the associate mocked the existing after market kick stand that had been installed). It was a waste of my time and it's an uncomfortable experience for the customer. I could have been home and back to work 20 minutes earlier if I wasn't fending off your associates attempts to sell me your crap. You need to reimagine your entire customer service experience with the customer in mind. read more

I couldn't believe it. I took my bike without an appointment because it is not shifting to the fastest gear. An older tech with gray hair looked at it, adjusted the cables, the derailer, lubricated the gears and fixed my seat while at it in 5 minutes and didn't charge me a bill. He said come back and try the other bikes when you are ready to get a new one. I think they are honest and passionate about bicycling. Maybe because my bike is too old and felt bad for me :) They made my day read more

She suggested I get padded riding shorts and cream and if that doesn't work then invest in the proper seat. I Brought my daughters bike into the shop for a pedal/crank repair a couple of weeks ago. Being that the bike was only a few months old and was purchased in and shipped to NC from CA, I was a little upset about any type of repair based on the age of the bike. I had several interactions with the Team Members at TREK and they were all so professional and kind throughout the entire process. Even when I got a little upset and vented about the repair they kept calm and understood my frustration. The repair was completed and the bike was put back together better than it was when it was dropped off. I will be returning to this location for any future repairs or tune-ups on this bike and any others that we may purchase from them in the future. Thank you all for your help! read more

After being told that it would take 3 weeks to fix a broken spoke at the Giant of Wake Forest shop, I came to Trek Bicycle Cary. They fixed the spoke, trued the wheel, and put on a new tire in 20 minutes. I HIGHLY recommend their service and will definitely be coming back for future cycling needs. read more

Let's just call it what it is, this is not the location to go if you're black. I went to this location wanting to literally spend money with the intent to do so and was instead turned away because I would rather keep my money than to give it to someone who so poorly gave me customer service. Upon entering the store with at least 2 employees at the door and another behind the counter with no customer, I circled the store for about 15 mins before anyone even acknowledged that I was there. Other employees also had observed me being there, yet no acknowledgment. At times it even felt they tried to avoid to make eye contact just so they didn't have to help me. When I was acknowledged, I was thrown to another sales associate who was knowledgeable about bikes, but had 0 interest in selling me one. I mentioned a bike I had once ridden but was looking for the employees of TREK to assist me in getting a new bike, something I haven't gotten new in the last 10 years. The associate had no interest in talking about what I was looking for until I literally had to just ask is there a bike that's best for "this". He then went on the computer and told me to check another store even mentioning that the North Hills location are "Nice Guys". The issue comes full circle that during this time I watched other customers have fast and immediate service from a sales staff that seemed excited that they were at work, only difference, those customers were not black. Take heed that I don't believe this to be a TREK issue, more that it is a TREK of Cary issue. Still don't have a bike. Still no closer to knowing what type of bike I need. Still at the same progress level of getting a new bike. Will NOT be returning to this location again as I'd rather not have to continue to feel that my skin color prohibits me grim buying a damn bicycle. 1 star because he knew stuff about bikes but just didn't want to use that to help me. read more
