Today, though, I was introduced to plants and shrubs at TGU that are just as native or unique and that I had never seen in Houston before. Avery was impossibly patient, thorough, and easy to get on with as he helped me pick out good low-maintenance options for my hodge-podge cottage-style garden. Though The Ground Up is set up mostly for plant sales to landscapers and professionals, they also sell to individuals at retail prices (only on Saturdays I believe). I had to remove the bowl and make sure the tree had water overnight since they had already closed. I went in the next day to let them know and get a refund for the defective bowl. They would not refund the money, and told me I had to call corporate. So I did and they told me I had to bring the tree back so they could attach a new bowl. I don't have a way to put the tree back on top the car and tie it down and drag it back to the store. Moral: put water in the bowl before you leave the store or go elsewhere. Super disappointing since I get my tree there every year. Well, I used to do that.
