I hired Tree Pros to trim a tree in my backyard and to install new sod while removing nutsedge weeds that had taken over my yard. The tree service itself was fine, but the lawn service has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. The main reason I hired them for the lawn was because nutsedge is very difficult to eliminate, and it had already destroyed my previous lawn. Unfortunately, the experience only added to my problems. First, the crew showed up, dug up my entire lawn, and then left me with nothing but dirt--without any communication. I have dogs, so this created a huge mess with dirt constantly being tracked into the house. I had assumed the job would be completed in one day, so I called the office. After some confusion, they told me the sod wasn't in stock and they'd return in a few days. That explanation didn't add up. The day before installation, they dropped off dirt and sod in front of my house--again, without any notice. When I called, they said this was "standard procedure," which directly contradicted their earlier claim that they didn't know the sod wasn't available. It's hard not to feel like I was misled. I also specifically asked about weed treatment since the nutsedge was already reappearing in the exposed dirt. I was assured it would be handled, as it was included in the work order. It wasn't done. They also left without turning on the sprinklers, which seems like a basic step after installing new sod. There were dead spots in the grass after install. The site manager told me that it would come back to life after a few weeks. Spoiler, it hasn't. The site manager told me he would return in two weeks to adjust the sprinklers and address the weeds. He never came back. No one followed up. Once again, I had to call to figure out what was going on as weeds began growing throughout the new lawn. I requested to speak with someone higher up due to the repeated issues and lack of communication. Although the person on the phone was polite and took notes, no one ever followed up--just a scheduling call for weed treatment days later. When someone finally came out, he only treated the perimeter, not the lawn itself. When I asked why, he said he wasn't instructed to treat the lawn and didn't have the proper equipment anyway. I was told someone would follow up. No one did. At this point, I've had to repeatedly chase the company just to get basic services completed--services that were clearly promised and paid for. Calls go unanswered, messages aren't returned, and communication is almost nonexistent. For the amount of money spent, this level of service is completely unacceptable. Customers should not have to manage the project themselves or constantly follow up to ensure work gets done. I would not recommend this company under any circumstances. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere for lawn care. I have attached photos of weeds and also dead spots/lines where the sod was installed. read more

We hired Sunshine Irrigation to build a "pug pond" two years ago. I am extremely lazy about reviews, but here is a well deserved review at last. We wanted a shallow pond with a waterfall to be incorporated with our existing spire. Jon worked through our extremely unusual request and agreed to the job. It was Jon and a two man crew for my project. They started on time, kept on the project throughout completion, and continued to follow up to ensure my satisfaction. They were professional and extremely adaptable. My "Pug pond" was his first. We made a couple of adaptations with the piping to get just the right flow for the waterfall and the spire, but he placed valves allowing adjustment of the pressure so we can adapt it should we choose. We haven't needed to touch them since they were set though. Also, they repaired a light that wasn't working in my yard while on break. Additionally, we had an unsightly curb around our turf in our backyard. It looked quite unnatural. Sunshine Irrigation removed the curb and replaced it with natural rock. It was an inspired idea on Jon's part. The backyard went from an artificial environment to a natural oasis. Jon has quite the eye for landscapes! We have established that I am lazy about reviews, but this gives me a unique perspective. I was having issues filtering Palo Verde droppings in my Skimmer box and they worked with me after the job was completed to try and minimize the debris. Then I was having some problem with algae build up, this was met with am extremely helpful series of phone calls until I managed the right balance. All of this after the job was completed and fully paid. I also had a leak in my sprinkler system on another occasion. They came out and identified the leak was the mechanism at the start of my sprinklers. The amazing part? I slept through the appointment. Fortunately, I had been a repeat customer and he didn't just bail(rightfully) and leave me with a leak. He fixed the leak, sent me an email with the bill apologizing for missing me. What more can I say? I have been more than happy with all of my experiences with Sunshine Irrigation. They have an excellent eye for landscapes and can help you turn your imagination into a reality. Our pugs are the happiest and coolest in Arizona! They love their pug pond and we love the beautiful, natural landscape waterfall feature that creates a soothing white noise. Our friends and neighbors often comment that our backyard is a comforting and soothing oasis in the harsh desert. Lastly, pricing. Sunshine Irrigation is extremely fairly priced. I had Tree Pros out for estimates on some work. The arborist also recommended trimming a eucalyptus tree to better handle the monsoon season. I elected to go with the tree pros to do the work. Estimate was for $2550. They did the other work along with trimming the eucalyptus tree. This was done early May just when the temperatures were reaching triple digits. They tree was looking good or they would not have recommended the work,,,I assume. The tree was trimmed heavily, the tree then started showing signs of an issue. Leaves changed from green to light green then eventually to brown. I called them to let them know that the tree was not looking good. Tried to include a timeline of appt missed with no callbacks but ran out of space here. Bottom line, there response was: I wanted to reach out to you regarding the Eucalyptus on your property, In reviewing the situation with management and a couple other Arborists at Tree pros we could not find indisputable evidence that are pruning led to the decline of your Eucalyptus, are pruning on the Eucalyptus did thin out 20-25% of the canopy which is industry standard. We did all agree that with an extremely dry monsoon up until a week ago, triple digit heat, not an adequate amount of water that can create an internal pathogen or disease that we do not know is there until it's too late. Where pruning might not completely help it does not completely hurt the situation either especially considering the type of tree (Eucalyptus). We can offer you really good bargain on removal since we did do the pruning and other work before on your property offering you the removal and stump grinding of the Eucalyptus from $700 down to $450. Let me know if you feel this is a reasonable offer and if you have any questions. Thank you! I then spoke with the arborist on my dissatifaction with this. The tree was looking fine before the recommendation to trim it. My response: It is also disputable that the pruning did cause the issue. What is indisputable is the fact that the tree looked fine prior to the pruning, tree was pruned, tree died. Just a coincidence?? The canopy was pruned more then 25%. This years monsoon was wetter then normal. The tree was watered the same way this year as in the past 24 years. I have not received any response from tree pros. I paid them $225 to remove a good portion of the tree, now they want another $450 dollars to remove the now eye sore. The trees aren't the only thing that's SHADY.... Update, you guys did not refund my payment in full. You only gave me a partial refund and charged me for fertilizing trees that now no longer exist!!!!!! I lost these two beautiful mesquite trees valued at $25,000 apiece because you showed up on the day you were supposed to do the work and said it would be double the price. That felt like extortion so I fired you and had to hire another company. In the meantime the monsoons took out my beautiful trees. All because of your stupid games and bad business practices. UPDATE 8-30-18: SHADY.... Review bribery was offered to me. Robert from Tree Pros contacted me and offered to refund my money only if I removed my truthful Yelp Review. He said "While we're not obligated to refund the cost of this service, we would be happy to do so with the condition that your review is removed without further recourse." To me that is highly unethical and I will not be bribed to remove my review. Not for a couple hundred bucks. I would rather tell the world about my terrible experience, and save other people from getting taken in by Tree Pros shady practices. My real beef is that this company showed up the day they were supposed to perform the work, and whacked me with a surprise "That will be twice the cost we quoted you because we underbid and the manager says so." You just don't do that in business. You don't show up the day you are to perform work and say "Oops that'll be double.". That's deceptive and shady, and I am more than happy to share my experience with Tree Pros so they don't pull the shame shenanigans with others. They knew it was the middle of monsoon season, and they knew my trees were about to fall over if they were not trimmed immediately. So the price doubled? I even waited 2 weeks for them to come out. They came out to fertilize a few days before they were scheduled to cut. Nobody noticed that the bid was off by 50% then, did they??? So either they can't bid jobs to save their life, they are a scam taking advantage of customers with urgent needs, or the manager just saw that I had an expensive house and decided I could pay more. Tree Pros recently removed a VERY LARGE sissoo tree from my front yard. While it was necessary to have the tree removed, due to its invasive root system, I was heartbroken to lose it as it had sentimental connections to my father whom I lost back in 2004. From start to finish, EVERYONE at Tree Pro were incredibly kind and sensitive to my feelings. I would especially like to give a shout out to Kyle Thoma who is the young man I met with regarding this project. He took a great deal of time to sit down and explain to me how the whole process works, along with other details about different trees, how their root systems are designed, etc. Gosh, I sure do wish he had been around when my dad and I were looking for a tree to put out front. Kyle was incredibly professional, kind and patiently answered all of my questions. This is a young man who CLEARLY knows his stuff. I would also like to give kudos not only to the gentlemen who came to remove the tree, but also to another gentleman who stopped by ahead of them to make certain that they would be removing the correct tree. I wish I knew everyone's names so I could thank them personally, but they will know who they are. The tree was removed just above the ground to allow someone to come and completely discourage any further growth before coming back to grind the stump down so it is actually below the surface of the ground and will therefore not be visible. The team was efficient and left things looking really good when they were done. I also would like to acknowledge the folks who answer the phones at Tree Pro. They are top-notch in customer service! All last week called the office numerous times about the different leaks they sent out Nick who thinks I'm crazy tells me I don't know what I'm talkin about the fertilizer tank they installed is putting chemicals in my pool and my dog's water dish is off of the main line along with numerous poly leaks throughout the yard front and back The irrigation technician came out walked around and told me that I would have to contact my pool company have them run another service line to the pool from the backflow that was my problem I also told irrigation Tech the fertilizer they're using is not doing anything and you need to get me some proof of the quality of fertilizer they're using he explained to me that they make it at the shop and they know what they're doing He also explained to me that we were using poly and there would be a little bit of leaks around the fittings and that was normal they also insist on me buying some kind of computer timer that I cannot use and told me they would not change that out So I called a another landscape company to have it checked out that was recommended by the ROC they told me that I'd have to have a complete redo it's just it was not done properly and they had some questions about the fertilizer tank himself again I called the office have not had any return calls. Again if this crew shows up at your job site beware and if Nick shows up there so-called leader irrigation Tech which does not know anything you know you've been had I know in Cali the ROC inspection checks all irrigation systems that are installed why doesn't the State of Arizona require this read more

Our family moved to a new house 2 years ago and we had 6 Cypress trees in our front and back yards that I absolutely loved. In the move, we brought our beloved landscapers with us and I expected the trees to be cared for. Unfortunately, we've lost 2 trees due to mis-watering and care, including one of my Cypress being lost. Disappointed by the seemingly unnecessary loss, we heard about Tree Pros and called them out for an evaluation. The team that came out was amazing, courteous and professional. They clearly had a command of the needs of our trees and were super polite on top of it. They also informed us that we had insects that may be contributing to our losses and referred a pest control company to help us in the event our current company couldn't help (which was the case). Well, I'm a kind of guy as is my wife to not go back if the first time didn't work out well whether or not its a restaurant or a service as Tree Pros. We are already scheduling our 3rd time using Tree Pros. The timeliness is exact, the guys and gals are so customer oriented it makes you feel as comfortable as possible. We have very large mesquites, possibly 40 feet high and my wife is super protective of them as losing one would change our home. Our Arborist explained every detail so she felt more at ease. He explained some of the causes of stress and disease and recommended a treatment, feeding and trimming for most of our trees. I wasn't sure about the extra measures but my wife was sold. Couldn't be more happier how the trees have responded! I managed for years power crews so I kind of know how the crew mentality is so I wasn't sure what to expect when the first crews a couple of years ago. They were especially careful and courteous. I thought 'Well, we'll see how it goes this time," when we scheduled a second visit before the coming summer. Well like I said in the beginning, my wife and I can't be more happy and are scheduling our third visit already. Working with professionals is always a pleasure. We were looking to get a significant amount of work done on our trees at our home in Scottsdale so we did a little shopping around. The 1st two estimates were similar, as was the description of the work that would be done. The 3rd and final estimate was provided by Tree Pros, again, the estimate was similar but the project was significantly different. Mike, the Arborist, examined each of our trees, when he looked at the 1st of our 4 Ash trees he immediately identified as disease. He was able to remove bark by touching it. He the looked at the other Ash trees and each was beginning to show signs of the same disease. He discussed our options and we decided to remove the 1st tree and treat the others. Same price, yes, but we received the trimming we wanted, tree and stump removal and treatment for our ailing trees. I recently had a large tree damaged during a monsoon storm and needed to have the tree cut down and removed. The tree was hovering over the solar panels on my roof and my patio cover. I was very nervous about the possibility of damage as the tree was removed. The folks at Tree Pros assured me that their crew would do a careful and professional job for me. I scheduled the work and also scheduled to have 10 palm trees trimmed. The crew arrived promptly at the agreed upon time. They worked diligently to trim the trees and then began work on the damaged tree. In no time at all, the tree and all it's debris was safely down, cleared and hauled to the chipper. The crew made sure the palm tree debris was picked up and hauled away and that any debris that may have drifted to my neighbor was also picked up. Now that's service ! I needed advice on what to do with a mesquite tree that was leaning due to a recent storm. Tree pros came out and offered options of bracing the tree or removing it. I decided to have it removed because it was leaning towards the house. While they were at it, I had them trim a large Palo verde tree. Let me tell you, I've had other people work on my trees but they were complete jokers compared to these guys. They had the right equipment and expertise to do the job. My Palo Verde never looked so good; they removed the mesquite and were gone within 2 hours. They returned the following week to grind the stump and plant a new mesquite and were equally efficient. They picked out a great looking tree and I am completely satisfied. It took a little while to get the work scheduled but I'm sure they had a little backlog due to the storm. I felt the price seemed a little high at first but I had trouble getting others to even call me back. They were very efficient and cleaned up after themselves. read more

Tree Pros was very professional, from scheduling the arborist to come out and provide an estimate to scheduling and performing the work. (I had three trees trimmed and soil injections done to fortify two very large, 40-year-old live oaks). Of all the companies I spoke to about possibly doing the work, Tree Pros was the only one to provide me a written estimate detailing the cost of each service. Their pricing is fair. The arborist also advised me against one of the services I thought we needed (not the right time of year for it and potentially damaging to the tree), even though they could have done it and charged me anyway. The front office is very professional with scheduling and billing, and the crew showed up on time both days. They did an excellent job, cleaned up after themselves fully, and left my trees and yard in better shape than they found them. As much as you might love your tree, when the monsoon storms keep you awake at night, it is time to take it down when half of it is destined to fall on your roof. Never used Tree Pros before, but they responded to my inquiry same day, and were out the next day to survey. This right after the July 9 storm. Quoted a fair price when considering the size of the tree. Set a date but requested sooner would be better than later. Actually got to me 4 days earlier than scheduled. Crew of 4 got all over it, had to get on the roof to trim back half of it. Bottom line, tree is down and gone. A tricky removal but absolutely no damage to roof, house, yard, and a very thorough clean up and friendly crew. Happy with myself for being proactive. Better to let Tree Pros do it while it is standing than when it is laying across my living room. Thank you Tree Pros. Will plant a new tree this fall. read more

I recently had a tree removed from the front of my house that was posing a danger. I have used Tree Pros in the past and had been very satisfied. They came to my home very quickly and removed the dangerous tree. The only issue I had was that the stump was left there. They came back and removed only half of the stump. I was upset by this, but initially they ignored my request to remove the rest of it, until I received a text by the company to inquire if I needed any more work done. When I explained what happened the previous year, they immediately responded and not only removed the remaining stump, but two others that were there previously at no charge. They did a fabulous job and regained my trust and business. For a company to go the extra mile, and take the time to remedy the issue, I know I can trust that they will always do a great job. Tree Pros was very responsive to my landscape needs, from the first call to the actual fertilizing treatment. After scheduling the appointment, Kyle, a certified Arborist, came out and assessed my trees and landscaping and offered constructive suggestions. I wanted two trees trimmed back and shaped, but he strongly advised against it until the trees grew taller - in about a year. I know he could have scheduled a crew to come out and do the work as a way to charge a $400-plus fee, but I sensed he was more interested in developing a relationship where he would monitor the landscape and perform work only when necessary. I did agree to a fertilizing schedule, especially for my queen palms. A few days later a technician came out and injected my trees and palms with fertilizer. Great service, great price !! Had 2 palm trees removed growing up though our patio roof we had built around them. Another copany bid $150 less to cut and rope lower these 70 and 80 foot palms without a crane. We chose Tree Pros because of the crane. Very professional took all precautionary steps setting the crane etc. This was the best solution for safety of the men and for all property involved. Fascinating process, they craned the trees up through the roof WHOLE. Unreal. Spectacular to watch. Neighbors cars like 10 feet away and they were confident there was no issue with that, and there was not. We kept the trunks cut to 40 inches to put a granite table on, on the patio. This is a great company and terrific service. Left propery clean also. Would call them again in a heartbeat. read more

We recently purchased a home that had been vacant for about 8 months, so the trees needed some attention. We met the staff at Tree Pros at the home show and they came out to see what we needed and provided a quote that was surprisingly reasonable for what we needed done. They removed a large tree in the back yard and trimmed all of our palm trees in the front yard (we have a lot). The crew arrived on time and did an awesome job on our trees. They look brand new! They cleaned up everything and left no trace they were here. The 2nd crew came out the next day to grind the stump from the tree they removed. Again, arrived on time and cleaned up everything. We had treepros come to look at our queen palms, after they suggested soil treatment and a soaker hose watering system. That was all done, and we were somewhat pleased, besides the horrible scheduling procedure, the guys calls you the mourning of the appointment to tell you when he can make it. Very convenient for them. Well less then three months later our big healthy queen palm is near dead. They were called and after four days of waiting to be called back we finally got someone to come out. The guy (Joe) had every excuse in the book, but nothing they did could of resulted in this. Our queen palm had been in that spot for four years and three months after they did services it's dead? So we are very unhappy with their customer service and accountability. read more
