The gas powered leaf blower drowned out all giggles and drove people back in their house. When asked to stop and why he would do that, he said he was just doing his job and several times managed to drop cuss words in front of children. Impolite and inconsiderate. This is a combination of a 5 star and a 1 star review for Tree Pros, I figure that averages out to about a 3 star rating - you can decide for yourself. TLDR: They did a great job doing the work they showed up for, but never actually finished the job and ghosted us. THE GOOD: I hired Tree Pros to take down two large Tree of Heavens (Ailanthus), remove a grove of Ailanthus, trim two trees overhanging the house, and trim and treat an Ash tree. One of the Ailathus was very close to the house (overhanging it quite a bit), the other was near the street. They did an excellent job removing both of them. They also did a great job trimming all trees and (I assume) a good job treating the Ash. They treated the Ailanthus stumps with Tordon to stop them from sprouting up more, which worked well. They seemed experienced dealing with Ailanthus... which if you've ever dealt with them, they are a HUGE pain to get rid of (see Tree of Hell). Tree Pros' quote was reasonable compared to others I got and they were responsive when scheduling the job. We did run into a bump about a week out from our scheduled date when I asked the city (Englewood) to confirm Tree Pros' insurance status. Tree Pros was not registered with Englewood, and an arborist/company must be to do business within city limits. I informed Tree Pros of the issue and they had it worked out within a couple days and we still hit our target date. Overall, no big complaints here. Their staff are friendly and knowledgeable and they did a good job. THE LESS GOOD: This is where the 1 star review comes in. Part of the quote I received from Tree Pros was to subsequently have the tree stumps ground down- we needed to wait 4-6 weeks to let the Tordon effectively kill the Ailanthus stumps, and they said they'd reach back out to schedule an appointment for stump grinding. They originally cut the trees down on 6/22/2022 and 6/23/2022. Come 8/6/2022 (just over 6 weeks), I hadn't heard anything back from them about scheduling the stump grinding, so I reached out. They emailed me back 2 days later stating they would schedule it. I reached back out August 19 (two weeks later) requesting a status. They got back to me August 20th saying they would schedule it. We called and left a voicemail. No response. Eventually, I gave up and hired a different company to do it, because it seems like Tree Pros doesn't care to finish up the job. That being said, I did not pay up front for the stump grinding, so I'm not out any money on them ghosting me, just a bit of added frustration to an otherwise pretty good experience. So, take my experience for what you will, but I personally don't think it reflects well on a company when they bail on the last part of a job. Given this interaction, I would not hire them again and will not be using them for recurring treatments on my Ash tree or to plant a new tree where one was removed. read more

Paul and Greg and Tree Pros are excellent at tree trimming. They are certified arborists, which means they will trim your tree in a way to keep it healthy and looking nice. They just don't hack off limbs without concern for health or looks. Highly recommend them for a healthy tree trimming! read more

Another great experience with Tree Pros. I have used them in the past to prune a massive 100+ year old oak. In our new house (with much younger trees) and I had them provide a bid to plant a new tree and prune three 10 year old tree. The arborist, Mike, arrived on time, addressed to my questions/concerns, and wrote up a bid. Due to a rainy spring, we had to reschedule this work several times, but the owner, Paul, communicated this with me each day of the scheduled work. Eventually a very competent couple of guys came out to perform the work. The crew lead was able to tell me all about how to care for and maintain the newly planted tree as well as the other trees which they pruned. He did a really nice job of pruning out the trees to open them up and keep the branches out of the street/car area. Great job cleaning up afterwards as well. I had about 6 different companies give me pricing to remove a tree in my yard, Tree Pros was the lowest price and I liked that they were arborists, BBB accredited, and they have a really nice informational website. I was a little bummed when they said they had to coordinate with xcel, and xcel's first apt available was not for a few weeks, but we booked it anyway. Low and behold the day of tree removal, my family was thrilled, we made arrangements and paid for our puppies to go to a dog daycare for the day, and they never showed up! When I didn't hear from them by about 8am, I called and left a message. Over the day I called several times both a cell and office number. They never even bothered to return my calls!!! I called xcel about 5pm, they said TREE PROS NEVER MADE AN APPOINTMENT. Of course I did not bother to look for another company over the past month because we had already hired Tree Pros. Now, its Spring and I still have the dead tree in my yard I wanted gone, I wasted money and stressed my puppies out at a dog daycare for no reason, and Tree Pros still has not bothered to call me back. read more

I had two rottenwoods (cottonless poplar) in the back corner of my yard right next to the fence and utilities boxes. Never having been a fan of how weak the wood is and how dangerous they can be (particularly with the lean some of the offshoots had, not to mention they were quite large) to persons and property, I decided to inquire with Tree Pros. Mike came out within a few days and gave me a quote of $785 to remove the two trees (cut low), and offered me a 10% discount if I accepted the quote within two weeks. I accepted. This morning, Brandon and his team came out and performed the work -- they even offered to remove the scrap from the Russian Olive and Pine trees I had previously cut down myself for only $60 more. I would have spent more getting rid of all the trash myself. Next week they're coming out to grind the cottonwood, pine, and olive stumps, as well as all of the 10+ shrub/bush stumps I have around the yard -- for $300. I'm eventually going to run a sod cutter through the back yard, followed by a rototiller to level out the ground and introduce sand and compost to thin the soil (very clay-like in my area, drainage is a big issue right now), and having all the stumps gone will make it so much easier! I had originally intended to rent a mini-excavator to get rid of most of the stumps, and that would have cost me at least $500+. For $1030 for everything, I can say this is a great deal. The work was very professional, they left the yard clean and neat, and the directional fells were spot-on. I'll definitely be coming back to Tree Pros for any and all of my tree needs in the future. I now have used tree pros for some major tree trimming, huge bush and above ground tree roots removed at different time over the past. I wish there was another star I could add. Can't thank Paul and his crew enough. We had a 40+ foot tree cut down and stump removed months ago at a very reasonable price. The crew was very respectable and professional. Later, we also needed a large branch cut down that was broken and hanging and he managed to get us in the schedule in a timely manner. On top of everything, we also noticed some remaining stump from previous removal (after digging out much stump mulch so we can replace with sod) and with out hesitation, they came out and finished the job. Awful experience with this company. It was like pulling teeth with a mouth full of gums, impossible! I first called and they were super friendly and told me they would go out and get an assessment of the health of our silver maples outside of our home and get back to me within the week. Well a week goes by then another and I called to see what they had reported, as well as have them look at another home for the health of the trees. They said they would have someone call me back and took the other address down. 2 weeks go by AGAIN I still have to call! It was a Friday and they said they didn't know if Mike had taken a look at both but they would talk to him and if he hadn't they assured me that he would definitely do it MONDAY. Yeah right!!!!! Well it's now Thursday today and nothing from them again. A month wasted with absolutely no results! Stay away from Trees Pros is my advise, not only to anyone reading this but everyone I talk to about tree care. They don't even deserve this 1 star. read more

I Highly recommend this company. The quoted price was what we paid and it was the lowest quote we received. They removed a tree including the stump quickly. The area was cleaned up afterwards. These guys seem to know what they are doing, if you can get them to call you back, show up when they're supposed to and keep their word. Used them year before last when my apple tree had fire blight and they did a fine job - competent and reasonably priced. Had them trim some other trees as well. This year, I asked them to give an estimate on a sick maple tree. Mike came out in spring, diagnosed it with chlorosis and recommended a new and expensive treatment. I asked him to send me information on the treatment so I could make an informed decision. After leaving several messages, he never returned my calls nor sent the info. His crew showed up to trim my trees (The appointment was for trim AND treatment of the sick maple) but were not prepared to treat the tree. I called the office and they had owner, Paul contact me. At first it looked like it was going great - Paul showed up at my house, apologized for Mike not following through with treatment info and offered to return the next week to treat the maple at no charge! That would have been awesome and demonstrated concern for customer satisfaction had he only followed through. It's now a month later, and after at least 4 phone messages to let me know if he intends to treat my tree (so I can get someone else to if he is not), I still haven't heard from him. Not cool. I will never use Tree Pros again. I selected them to cut down a dying tree. Tree Pros came and cut down the WRONG tree. While Paul did replace the tree, he also offered to do a spring treatment on my Siberian Elms. After numerous calls to remind him, he never delivered on his promise. read more
