VERY DISAPPOINTING - Initial communication was fine. Scheduled an estimate visit and received the estimate in a timely manner. I had a couple of questions which I sent via email. I received an abruptly worded email back from Iziah saying I would need to schedule another visit to adjust the estimate (which would have resulted in more money for Ross). I was referred to Ross by my neighbor's arborist, who said my trees were too big to trim on his own. I had an early snafu where they didn't show up for the first estimate, but upon calling and rescheduling a couple of weeks later, I got a proposal via email as promised the day after. I approved the proposal and their scheduler called me the same day to get me lined up for service the following day. This was pretty nice, since they originally told me they were booked 10+ weeks out. They came out to place "No Parking" signs in front of my house the night prior to service, and showed up the following afternoon to perform the work. The workers were professional and courteous, and the equipment they used was modern and in good shape. They left the yard fairly clean, although there were a number of small branches left near the base of the tree I had to clean up on my own. Not a big deal. Their prices seem comparable to other providers in the area, and based on the communication and quality of work, I have no reason but to rate them five stars. Thank you. read more

This was the second time I have used Ross Tree Service. The first time was Spring, 2022 to remove 2 Ailanthus trees near my garage and new fence. Ross submitted their proposal timely and were able to schedule the work within my tight timeframe. I was concerned Ross would need to temporarily remove a portion of my fence as had a previous competitor who removed a portion of the old fence which weakened it. Ross brought in the equipment to remove the large trunks over my fence leaving it intact. Ross also properly applied the poison to the stump so that the Ailanthus shoots were minimalized. Today, Ross Tree Service arrived to complete work that was originally scheduled while I was out of town. The original work required a permit from Denver to close a lane of traffic on a busy Avenue. Unfortunately, the permit had to be pulled while I was out of town. At the time, David said he would return to complete any missed work. When I returned, I could see the trimming over the Avenue met my expectation, but some work was missed. Today, the crew returned and the final trim work exceeded my expectations. I will continue to use Ross Tree Service as my tree service of choice and highly recommend their service. I find David to be a very knowledgeable arborist/manager of integrity. read more

I have used other tree companies but from now on I'm with Ross. I have a big apricot tree in my backyard that Swingle Tree Company almost ruined by excessively pruning it and permanently damaging its shape. It has come back, although it will never be as pretty. It was time to trim it again so I used Ross Tree company. I was really nervous but they did a great job. They did several trees in the yard. They pruned them manually, and only removed the deadwood, raised the skirts and did what was needed to preserve the tree shapes. There were tulips getting ready to bloom under the apricot tree and I was sure they'd be crushed, but they were totally untouched after the job was done. There was so much yard damage when Swingle had done the job and when Ross did the job you would never have known they'd been there except for the trees looked better. read more

I contacted them for an appointment and the lady on the phone said they're coming this Friday between 8 am and 2 pm. So, I called them at 3 pm that Friday and she said "oh, that's for next week". I reached out to Ross Tree Company to come evaluate my tree health as both my front lawn trees were planted too deeply by the landscaping company. I confirmed this with a professional online consultation with an ISA certified arborist. The day after my "appointment", I reached out to them advising that no one had come through to check on the trees. They responded saying one of their Arborists had and they emailed me over the proposal. I have 24/7 surveillance around my house and I can assure you no one from this company showed up -- instead, they sent me a generic proposal for deep root fertilization which does not at all address the problems with my trees. First of all, they did not send a truck with a bucket. That was requested by myself when the bidder Isiah gave me the bid. Second of all, the guys that came, were told to cut the lowest branches on the pine tree and the ash tree, which they did not do. Thirdly, I asked Paul if he could trim my hedge in place of the apple tree stump that I wasn't charged for. He said he would and when I went over there later, they already left, and the hedge never got trimmed. They should have notified me if they were not going to trim the hedge. read more

Ross has trimmed our trees for several years, no complaints. Recently had a tree trimmed that had to be climbed. Terrible job. They trimmed so many branches off limbs leaving an excessive amount of branches on the ends that the whole tree looks like a bunch of lollypops. As a result after a spring snow storm multiple branches broke. $600 completely wasted. I will be calling another more competent tree service to see if they can do something with this mess. read more

We chose Ross Tree company based on a recommendation from our neighbor who has a gorgeous yard. I'm so glad we did! Their prices are reasonable, they do very good work, they clean up well, and they come out quickly. Last year, they removed two trees for us (we had the slump ground on one but not the other), and they trimmed two other trees. All of the work was great. They cut the trees very low to the ground, so if it is not in a prominent place in the yard, you may not even need to pay extra to grind the stump. The stump we left is easily covered by mulch. The other one was in the middle of our lawn, and the filled the hole with soil afterward. They're coming out again this year for an tree removal emergency, and they have been fast courteous. read more

We used Ross Tree Company to get rid of a dead pine tree in our backyard. The tree was about twenty feet high and in the midst of power lines and other cables, so we did not want to risk injury to ourselves or our property. We call these professionals, and they were great to work with and very cordial. They showed up one day while we were gone and took care of the tree safely, cleaned up the yard and hauled it all away afterwards, and just send us the bill. Ross did a good job on a locust tree and left enough to complain about on a maple. How hard is it to step back, walk around the tree and look and see if you need to cut more? (I couldn't be there when the tree trimmers were at the house.) I called the fellow who scheduled the job. I told him there were several dead limbs still in the tree. I thought the tree could be trimmed a little more too. He said he'd make time to come out and meet with me. I'll let you guess if that ever happened. I used a pole saw to cut the dead limbs the tree trimmers left behind. I did more trimming on my own too. Everyday I come home I see a dead limb in the top of the tree I can't reach. Did great work and were up front and honest from the beginning how far in advance they were booking out. Quick quote receipt and easy email discussion for clarification. My only frustration is that I'd been told the work would be a few weeks out (it was their busy season and I was pretty late to the game, which I totally understood). Then, out of the blue, just a week after my quote acceptance, I got a call that they'd be coming "tomorrow". It was very short notice, with no specific "window" of timing, so not the kind of advance scheduling I'm used to. Granted the tree was in an easy to access front yard location so I figured this was how tree trimming worked-- surprise we did it. But then I got a call the next afternoon that they'd been ringing the doorbell and no one was answering. Now my husband works from home in a separate building on our property so I was able to call him and he came out front. I just wish there had been more clarity on when they were coming and the expectation someone would be home. Besides that piece however they did a lovely and complete job. The only problem I had was that I couldn't get them over fast enough! They were so busy I had to wait for 4 weeks, however, I'm glad I waited because their service was excellent. Mario came out and took down a 60ft Silver Maple that was only 40 ft from my house and in between all kinds of problem places with service lines. He climbed that tree and got right to it with his team on the ground. He was extremely safe and the team on the ground was too. Needless to say, 2 dump trucks full of wood chips, and one large dumpster (that Gene the owner came out with a crane to pick up the large logs with), later...I have a clean 50 year old maple tree free yard that I can finally utilize!
