I stop in here on most of my visits to Trader Joe's right next door to get my pups and kitties something. I mostly buy the treats and food but I have bought some other items too. The homemade treats are a favorite for my doggies. I usually buy the dozen bag and a few extra fun ones. I haven't inquired about their grooming services yet and need to do so. My doggies are low maintenance on grooming but certainly need one from time to time. The customer service here is great and there is one employee who is just fantastic! I need to ask her name because she is just so helpful and nice! She has been there every time I go in besides one. She has short hair and wears glasses, probably close to my height at 5'2 or a little taller. She is a treasure and if I get her name, I'll come back and add it here. Nadia is a treasure!!! My nervous pup was treated with loads of care and I could tell she was so comfortable in Nadia's hands. I love the one-on-one style of grooming so her appointment only took an hour and I felt great about not dropping her off for the whole day. My sweet baby was returned to me smelling clean and wonderful, refreshed and bright-eyed, and her coat was the softest it's ever been!! The pricing is a little restrictive for those of us on a budget (hellooooo economy), so we'll be having these spa days only every so often. I really can't say enough great things about this location! Every single staff member is so friendly, sweet and helpful! We moved out of state for a year and returned a couple months ago to KC. We had to use multiple different groomers while out of state, and none of the experiences were good. Treats unleashed and Nadia really set the bar high. Nadia is such a talented groomer and sweet person. She has been grooming all three of our dogs since they were puppies. Our dogs always look amazing, and always seem happy when we pick them up. We have been picking up dog treats, cat food and other animals needs at this store for about 5 of the 7 years we have lived here. The staff is pleasant, easy to work with and knowledgeable. They are extremely helpful for food that you need to order and will hold items for you or order special. They also have a dog wash area and will trim dog nails while you wait. They make their own treats and our pup loves them, especially the peanut butter ones! I believe they will custom make frosted cookie dog cakes as well. I never dread going here when I have to run errands. The only thing that stinks, they have to share a parking lot with Trader Joe's-ugh! Head there now for all your cat/dog needs! read more

I took my dog for grooming. I hadn't been there in several years since my previous groomer, Sarah left. The new groomer, Fatima scolded me for picking my dog up later than she wanted. It was truly an accident on my part. I had a situation that prevented me from getting there. She scolded me in front of a bunch of other customers and really embarrased me. I tried to send a message to their internal customer service, but the email didn't work so I have no choice but to leave a bad review here. What concerns me is that if Fatima is so impatient and would humiliate an adult human that way, what might she do to my dog. He's a defenseless dog under 10 pounds. I can't possibly trust her with my dog. I had no plan to leave a bad review on Yelp, but I tried to fill out their customer service form and it didn't work. read more

I love this location and the staff there. I have been taking my collie mix here for a few years to be groomed. She is double coated and has a ton of hair. She is also nervous around new people and not a huge fan of baths. We have had 2 different groomers here and both have been amazing with her. Her cut is always perfect and she always comes out looking and smelling great. They are so good with her! The treats here are also great. Called about self washing options for dogs and I was able to schedule an appointment right away. The price was $16 during the week and they supplied everything needed. The staff was very friendly and professional. We were sad to notice a sign stating that self washing would no longer be an option after June. read more

We had a very good experience with one groomer, who was able to groom our dog speedily and very thoroughly. Our most recent groom was with a new groomer, and I couldn't be unhappier. Not only was the groom uneven/patchy but the groomer also gave treats with an ingredient that I explicitly stated my dog couldn't have. I lost my trust in this business and their employees and we will go somewhere else in the future. 3 stars because everyone is friendly and we had an awesome experience with the first groomer. read more

Tae is amazing, I wouldn't bring my babies to any other groomer. They always are so happy when they are groomed and can't wait to show off how great they look. I have a Persian Cat, a Husky mix, and a Shih Tzu and he does amazing on all of my babies. Always willing to go the extra mile and he has worked with my pets for years. Originally my Persian and my Husky were not so sure about grooming, but he was patient working with them and now they love seeing him. Cat's still get the short end of the stick at this pet store, but I was surprised to see how much cat junk they had. Not just cat food, but some toys I have never seen before, including some cool laser cut cardboard scratchers. We were kind of left to fend for ourselves as a couple chicks behind the counter were squeezing pastry bags fill dog food onto a cookie sheet like it was an Iron Chef competition. No worries, we figured it all out and we left with 2 bags full of cat food, cat treats and some hybrid mouse/birds. Not cheap, but they are carrying higher quality items here, including organic and grain free food. The fact that it is next to Trader Joes (the human treat store) does not hurt one bit. read more

They advocate for products that they truly believe will help your pet, and I never felt like I was having a monthly special pushed on me. They have a great selection of high-end, nutrient-dense kibbles and also freezers with a good variety of raw food (which I'm a big believer in.) Somehow I had missed this place in my trips to the Trader Joes that it shares a building with. What a neat little store. It's fairly small, but has a pretty cool collection of stuff for mostly dogs. They have really fantastic specialty treats that our dog seemed to absolutely love. Heck, some of them smell as good as human cookies. No joke. They aren't cheap, but for the occasional splurge to treat your pooch...it's awesome. They also have a decent toy selection, as well as a good selection of collars. Other odds and ends abound as well. It appears they do full grooming too, but I didn't see a list of what they offer or their prices. Michelle said back in December that everything was made in North America with the treats, but we distinctly saw a wall of treats that were "Made in Holland". Not Chinese, but also not North American. Service is relatively non-existent and this is the only reason I hesitate giving 4 stars instead of 3. The ladies behind the counter pretty much did all they could to avoid interacting with any potential customer. Aside from that, pretty cool spot for Spot! read more

I love this place. The two things I love most are the fresh baked treats (as does the dog) and the grooming. This review is mostly for the grooming. As background, my pup has been described as "very naughty" when it comes to grooming and it has been a battle the entire four and a half years we've had her. At Treats Unleashed, I was able to consult with the groomer (Sierra) about all of the things the dog hates grooming related. I left hopeful, but fully expecting to get a phone call in the middle of the session to pick her up (this has happened before) or returning to pick up a groomed but Godzilla-angry dog that peed in fright (also has happened). You wouldn't believe my thrill to come back to the store to pick up a clean dog with a well shaped coat who was, get this, WAGGING her "tail." I haven't successfully trimmed my dog's paws and nails in probably a year, and yet there she stood, happy, and with neatly manicured paws, clipped nails, and the fur on the paw pads trimmed. The price was reasonable in my opinion for the results had. Her coat is now fluffy and completely without matts. Every part of it is shaped attractively, and I keep noticing the detail Sierra went to in shaping it. The fact that the dog only had to be at the groomers for about 4 hours instead of all day was an added perk. I just can't say enough good things about the job Sierra did grooming my dog. If you also have a nervous dog and are hesitant to try a groomer, I'd highly recommend giving her a shot. Hopefully you will be as pleased with the results. read more

Otis and I (my 9 year old Shi Tzu) made our first visit for his "do" this weekend. I first experienced this boutique as a customer of Trader Joe's and was excited that they had a groomer but also that they have natural & whole food dietary options. I've been saying, "Why feed myself the good stuff and my dog crap?" I purchased a freeze-dried GRAIN-FREE dog food that you just mix with water to rehydrate for $18 (which is less than purchasing direct from SOJOS online) and it makes 12lbs of food. There is a lot to look at in this store. I've looked at all the "good" foods at the regular pet stores and found nothing like what Treats Unleashed offer. The grooming prices are very reasonable and they even have space for self-service baths if you want to do it yourself. I like that I don't have to leave my dog there all day in a cage while they work on several dogs at a time. Actually I believe Bobbi is the one and only groomer, but I could be wrong. I will tell you, she listened very carefully to what I wanted and did everything just as I asked. I didn't come back to any extra cost - like I usually deal with. He was only there for an hour and 45 minutes. That was a bath, cut, and blue berry facial. Only $43! It's nice to be able to leave him and enjoy lunch, an appetizer, coffee, or ice cream next door at a couple of different places. Otis is now a member of the Frequent Barkers Club so we'll even get specials here and there! Love it! read more

My dogs are my family, I love them to death and lets be honest prefer them over people most days. With that said I also love to spoil my dogs rotten and this is the place I go to get the best homemade treats for them. This place has the best selection of homemade treats and what is even better is they have grain-free treats that are cheap for the dogs that have allergies. The prices for this delicacies is .25 to 1.99, it just depends on what you choose. My dogs are obsessed with the "chocolate" and peanut butter treats that are only .25 a piece so I usually end up stocking up on those when I am in the area. The service here is also by far the best service I have ever recieved. They have some of the nicest employees and they know what they are talking about. Love love love this store (and it doesn't hurt that it is right next store to Trader Joes). read more

I took my cat to get groomed; unlike most cats, he is quite patient with it. They said 1-3 hours. I went to pick him up after three hours and they said he wasn't done, but I was late for another appointment so I took him anyway. He was wet and they did not trim his nails as promised. He was clean, knots were gone, but he smelled like dog. I was not able to see where or how they groomed him. Staff was friendly up front, and the store has a nice selection of treats. But I would look elsewhere for grooming. read more

I LOVE THIS STORE! Not only is the staff wonderful and knowledgeable but I love that there's always a fresh selection of treats and new foods for my dogs to try. They have tons to choose from and the staff has always helped me with making my decisions. If you have a dog that requires a special diet (or you just want your dog on a special diet) this is the place to find the goods. My dogs eat Fromm and they have tried many of the treats there. There are peanut butter barkers that are made in house that both my dogs love. Then I always grab a bag of raw frozen bones, which my dogs go nuts over. Hours of entertainment, they last forever, and they are good for your dogs teeth! One of my girls is a rescue with sad teeth and their appearance has improved so much since giving her the raw bones consistently. Obviously I highly recommend Treats Unleashed. read more

I recently went in this store to shop after finding out Chewy.com was no longer going to carry Nature's Variety Raw dog food. Nature's Variety referred me to the store because they said they could special order the food. It is a nice store and the employees are friendly and helpful. Some aren't as knowledgable as they could be, but I think it is primarily a training issue related to the number of brands they carry. There was a communication problem related to product availability with Nature's Variety. The store manager was gracious enough to have the Nature's variety rep contact me directly to resolve the issue in order to retain our business. Nature's Variety had excellent things to say about this franchise, saying they are an excellent choice if you plan on purchasing raw dog food due to their product knowledge and how they properly maintain the product's integrity. This is important because franchises like Petco are terrible about storing it properly. From my understanding, this is also why Nature's Variety discontinued selling their product to Chewy.com. Specifically, they have problems with allowing the product to thaw and then refreezing it which causes frosting and the bites to meld together into one large frozen lumpy mass. I look forward to a long relationship with this boutique. read more

I keep meaning to share how wonderful our experiences have been with treats unleashed. I have a very spoiled Morkie that I am truly obsessed with. I always used to have terrible anxiety leaving her at a groomer or for boarding. We have had a few bad experiences with grooming at other places. I just dropped her off for her third grooming at this location. We have purposely stuck with the same groomer, Sarah. She is wonderful. She gets down on the floor to greet my baby and make her feel comfortable. She always does a wonderful job grooming her and I know my baby is taken care of. The other thing I love about Treats Unleashed is that they aren't grooming tons of dogs at once so your dog is stuck there for several hours. I pick my girl up right when she is finished. Usually only an hour and a half. I also love the array of treats and toys available at this location. Highly, highly suggest. read more
