This was my first time taking my dog Jack to the puppy parlor in Lenexa. Usually, I take Jack back home since I'm from California, but recently moved to Kansas City. I was a bit nervous to see what groomers were out there, but I saw that this place had excellent reviews and in this case, it was an emergency I had found a tick on my dog and wanted to make sure that we took precautions got him groomed and treated. I called the puppy parlor and right away. They booked me for the first availability that they had the same day. It was a miracle and I was so grateful to be able to get a spot. They were very professional and thorough. They asked me questions about the dog. If I had any concerns, they listed the pricing over the phone of their services so I had an idea before walking in once I got off the phone they sent me a confirmation text and a form to fill out that was super easy to do any additional questions that I had the team was on and super quick to respond and pass along any messages I have for the groomer. When I got to the location to drop off Jack, they were very friendly super quick with checking us in the groomer came out and she was amazing. She made sure to introduce herself to Jack. She went over any concerns that I had or that she has regarding the grooming, great communication skills overall, and I'd love that she made sure that my dog felt safe with her before she took him. She even got to ground-level to introduce herself once I dropped off Jack. They let me know that they would call me and then I can go pick them up. They sent me a text once he was ready and I went to go pick up Jack once I got inside they immediately brought him out and he looked amazing. He was clean. He was happy which is overall the best thing that I can expect he didn't seem scared or skittish he seemed confident and a happy pup. The grooming came out. Perfect he smelled amazing his nails and everything was done perfect perfectly. I am thrilled to have found this place and will definitely be coming back for our regular grooming. Highly recommend Mikaela! She does an amazing job grooming my Bernedoodle. I believe she only offers cuts on Mondays, so I always make sure to book with her. She uses a 3/4 inch guard, and every time, my pup comes out looking so fresh, feeling incredibly soft, and smelling amazing. I took my dog to Puppy Parlor today for the first time for grooming. I got her back and her right eye was totally bloodshot. I called to ask what Morgan may have accidentally done. She would not admit to anything, telling me she didn't get that close to her face. I said then how did you groom her face?? Our two dogs have gone here 3 times now and each time I am so impressed with how great they look! Prices are reasonable, booking is easy. The staff members are happy, helpful and always excited to see our dogs. Both our dogs start to whine and get excited to go in once we get in the parking lot and are always happy when I pick them up. I'm so grateful to have found such a great groomers for our dogs. One is a poodle, they do a great job giving her a full cut and shaving close around her eyes. I am writing this review to WARN others if seeking a new groomer. On April 4th 2024, I took our sweet 4.5 yr old Millie, a Golden-doodle here. Our groomer retired and we had to look for another. After reviewing strong reviews and positive comments. I felt at ease we may have found a new Groomer, that was close by. Wow!! I was saddened to be wrong!!! Our poor dog is the one who suffered. I brush Millie weekly, she has had only the best compliments from her past Arbor Creeks groomer Joy! During drop off 8AM met with Rochelle who asked about Millie. She took notes, I was specific said, no "poodle" type cuts. I want 1.5" puppy cut all over, don't cut ears, trim buff nails. At 1:30PM notice Millie was ready. I go to pick her up. I paid $139.42 for cut, and tip!! I did ask for $40 refund. I felt that was fair for service. She brings out Millie. She is traumatized, skinned, and has bedazzling on her forehead. What the world? Then she shows me where she cut Millie's, paw. I noticed blood on the side of her stomach. I said, what happened? Where is this blood from? She said, that's my blood! I cut myself, by accident. She asked the lady sitting at the front desk. Do you have a wipe? She said no! I said I do in my car. I pulled off the glued gems -- which pulled her hair. Hair grows back but the emotional damage is NOT cool!!!!!! I took Millie got her in my SUV. Wiped the staffs blood off her side!!! I went back and politely gave their business card back, no thanks. I will never be coming back. I called 15 minutes later to speak with owner. Nothing. I called at 4:30PM to speak with the owner again and they said she was busy. My dog is traumatized. She is skittish and timid to touch. She never lays on her dog bed. She is always on the couch. I am sad for her and furious will hopefully have a repose from the owner. I expect a an explanation and refund. I support small businesses and this is not right. If I had an incident where a customer had a major issue. I would be on the phone with them immediately!!! Update: The owner called me this morning, made it sound like it was my fault, poor communication. Whatever---- will not be going back nor recommending to my family, friends and strangers. They never offered to get you when I came back in to the store. When I called you were busy twice, and I appreciate the opportunity to discuss. I am not a fan. I wish your company the best, lots to learn here. Her hair is shaved can't even pull it with my fingers, not what I pointed to on the board. Thanks! read more

I brought one of my dogs to the Puppy Parlor for the first time today. They not only provided one of the best cuts he has ever had, but they also treated him very carefully. He is slowly losing his vision, and as a result, has become nervous in new situations. The groomer handled him perfectly with kind firmness and positive reinforcement. I took both my dogs here for the first time for grooming. They knew my pups were rescues so I thought they would get a groomer that has a lot of experience and is good at handling rescues. One of them is a mill rescue that still doesn't really like his face or paws to be touched or cut. He is the sweetest boy but just wants non of that. The other rescue gets nervous but she will stay still for you to trim her and bath her. The mill rescue boy: I told the groomer that the he is matted and might need to cut short. She told me that he isn't that matted. She can leave the hair long and trim the matted area short which was the chest area. And I agreed. a I also showed her a picture of how I want his face and body cut rounded like a teddy bear cut. She told me ok. End Result: His body and face was cut super short. No round face. I felt like I just picked him up from the rescue when they trim them almost to the skin. He is still cute. But very disappointed because this is not what she said. I felt the groomer is new and was not clear and true to her word. The rescue girl: She didn't really need a cut so she told me that she will just do a light trim and clean her up and put a bow on her and I agreed. Again I showed her a picture of how I would like her face round and she agreed. End Result: She looked like she had business in the front and party in the back trim. Her neck and body was not trimmed. She basically just trimmed her face super short and nothing else. The hairs around the ears were uneven. Her face was super short while her body was long and wasn't blended nicely. Thank goodness I am a cosmetologist so when we got home I tried to blend her head and body to look like cut not 2 different haircuts. Just disappointed in the experience because they called me to see if I can go in right away at 11am instead of my 1pm appt since the groomer had finished early. I agreed even though one of the rescue gets major anxiety in the car and I did't have time to give her any medication because we had to rush out the door. I felt so bad for her the whole 20 minute car ride (she even anxiety pooped in the car :( ) The next appointment will be with a different groomer hopefully and more experience person and hopefully everything will turn out a lot better. read more

I just saw, this time, that they had doggy ice cream treats and got my dog one. She loved it! Leah is a fabulous groomer. My sweet Shelltie looks perfect when Leah grooms her. We absolutely love every groomer we've had here. I would bring all my dogs that I pup sat, specifically to this wonderful grooming parlor, because they could take even the most timid dog, and the dog would leave better for it. I had one specific puppy that I took over several times just for her to not dislike nail trimming and it only took 2 months of consistency for this puppy to actually like getting her nails done that she would jump out of the car when we showed up. She no longer shook. All because the groomers take such care in evaluating each dog and what each parent wants for their dog. I will keep sharing this wonderful place with every friend that moves to kansas, neighbor, or stranger I meet. Why, you might ask?
