Treat's Heating, Cooling & Electrical recently performed monthly servicing on the heat pump systems at both my house and my rental house. After their visit, I noticed that one of the furnace filters was the wrong size for the rental house furnace and that the service technician cut a larger filter to fit into a smaller opening. They returned a few days later to provide me with the correct size replacement furnace filters after I called their office to bring this situation to their attention. Our AC unit that was only 3 years old started freezing up at the coils and was struggling to cool our 3700 sq ft home. If you're in the Seattle area, you know how difficult it is to get an HVAC company to come to your house immediately. Treats was recommended by another company who couldn't accommodate us and was booking 3 weeks out. From booking to the actual appointment, Treats provided exceptional service and exceeded my expectations. The receptionist was knowledgeable and was so friendly. And Johnny, our technician, was incredible. My husband spoke with him at length and he gave us so much great information on how to improve the function and longevity of our unit. I was very happy with their service. The lady who answered the phone was pleasant and even offered to loan us space heaters when our furnace was out on a cold day. The technician called when he was on his way and arrived within the time window I requested. He quickly diagnosed the problem and gave me a written repair estimate. UPDATE (July 14, 2014): I called them again today after we have paid to have them out twice in the last four months. After spending $400 to have them out twice in four months, you'd think they would come out for a third visit with no charge at least for the service call, especially when the issue they were out for is the same issue as the last visit. I was told over the telephone that the technician's notes did not mention the last visit was for the same reason that I called about today and that it was only for routine maintenance so there would again be a charge for them to come out. Taking my review down to one star now. ORIGINAL: They were very friendly and were thorough and professional in their work. They even send somebody to our home on the same day we called. However, they were expensive. To add insult to injury, they quoted me a price for air conditioner service over the telephone (which already sounded a little high) and then charged me a higher price when they did the work. Then, they charged tax on top of that. For what? They performed a service with zero parts. What did they charge sales tax on? The worst was when they called me the next day and told me they would pay me for leaving positive reviews of their work online and would pay me based on how many I left. read more

We had Treat's out to service our heat pump and furnace for the first annual check-up since buying our house. Matt called to give us a heads up that he was less than 10 minutes away from arriving and was very professional to work with. He showed us that the former homeowners had turned off part of the furnace due to a part that was making noise rather than just fix the problem. Then they were forced to put a filter in a place it didn't belong... all making the furnace not run efficiently. He fixed the issue and showed us the proper place to change the filter... and gave us a quick tutorial on how to run the thermostat. All in all it was a most pleasant and easy experience. Matt was prompt, professional and we will definitely have Treat's out again - whether it's for repairs or routine maintenance - we couldn't ask for better. Thank you! read more

On time, very knowledgeable, fixed what I needed fixed. There is a pretty big charge, over a hundred dollars to show up and diagnose the problem. I told them what the problem was when I made the appointment and again when the tech showed up. Sure enough, I was right but still had to pay for the diagnostic fee. The $90 part ended up costing almost $500 with installation which took about 30 minutes. I'll try someone else next time. read more

Let me be frank with my intentions: I hope this review costs this company more than the $71.00 they refused to refund me for the "fix wireing(sic) and spred(sic) prongs on control board" that did not do anything to resolve my problem. On 12/13/2016 I called "Summit Heating and Air" which is apparently another name or partner for "Treats Heating and Cooling" to request a diagnostic. The company was very responsive and scheduled me for a same day visit from 2-4pm. The technician arrived shortly after 4pm. The technician was polite and friendly, and nice to deal with. He spent about 30 minutes in the attic checking the furnace, which was turning on and off intermittently while he was troubleshooting it. After 30 minutes he packed up his gear and was getting ready to leave when the heat stopped working again. He went back up into the attic for another 10 minutes and the heat turned back on so he packed up his gear again and prepared the invoice. The charges were $119.00 for the visit and an additional $71.00 for the "fix." I was happy to pay for the quick service and functional heat. When I turned on the heat the morning of 12/14/2016 the heat was not working again. I called the "Treats Heating and Cooling" office and informed them the heat was not working despite paying for repairs the day before and I requested some options for correcting the issue. The technician decided that the problem was the control board which would need to be replaced and about an hour later I received a voicemail and an e-mail with an estimate for additional services. I called the office back and requested a refund for the $71.00 charge which did not use any new parts and was ineffective at restoring functionality to my furnace. The request for a refund was denied. I asked the manager if Treats was content with charging customers for services that did not work and she responded with "was it working when the technician left?"... Eventually after more discussion, the manager conceded to reduce the next visit by the $71.00 charge from the prior visit. The estimate for the second visit included the following charges: Parts pick up and return trip: $91.00 Install control board: $448.00 Further test system for proper operation: $54.00 Total: $644.00 With the reluctant discount: $573.00 Estimate: http://i.imgur.com/YXrfSnH.png ***** At this point I decided to get a second opinion. I called Elliot with "Eneright Mechanical" (206-707-2717) and he came to take a look at the situation. He not only quickly identified that the control board was the problem, but he also identified another issue that was completely missed by the technician from "Treats," which was a leak in the condenser (which even I noticed as a total layman). The total cost of parts, labor, and diagnostics for both the control board and the condenser was $200.00 less than what "Treats" was going to charge to just replace the control board. The control board for my furnace (York Furnace: TG9S060B12MP11A) is a 70.00 part. The average amount of time required to replace a control board is one hour or less. "Treats Heating and Cooling" a.k.a. "Summit Heating and Air" was going to charge 650.00 for less than 250.00 of parts and labor. read more

Artisan Premier Electrical was hired by Treat's Heating and AC to do all of the electrical work for our heat pump, furnace and water heater install. The circuit runs, in panel wiring practices as well as terminating at the heat pump sub-panel were very professional. The quality of work was clearly distinguished from the electricians who wired our gas fireplace inserts during the same week. The fireplace guys tapped into a circuit that was closest and convenient to them which happened to be the busiest circuit in my home. I'm working on scheduling Artisan to come out and re-do the shoddy work performed by that other company. read more
