I just want to thank TVE and especially Schonie Lee for going out of her way to do everything in her power to make sure my insurance would cover the cost of my new roof, which they did! I had two other roof people come to look at my house, one guy never came back and the other never got in touch with my insurance. Both of them said it looked like it was just an old roof and insurance probably would not cover it. AND THEN I MET SCHONIE from Treasure Valley Exteriors.... She spent more than an hour on my roof. She really knew her stuff, and she contacted our insurance for us!! She also made sure she was here when the insurance adjuster came here to look at our roof. Even though other people told me insurance wouldn't cover the price of my roof, when Schonie did all that work, my insurance approved a new $19,000 roof within 3 days of being contacted by her. Also what made good even better..... was that it only took ONE day for them to put the roof on! ONE DAY!!!! My neighbors were astonished because some of their roofs took 3 days to install. Plus the crew that did our roof was amazing!!! They swept and blew off the property as well as going over it with a big magnet To pick up any nails or staples they might have missed. Thank you Treasure Valley Exteriors! Schonie Lee, and the awesome crew that did our roof! Also It would be pretty nice if homeowners would offer the shade of a tree or the shade of their backyard for the people who work so hard on their roof. I noticed that these guys put towels and blankets over their windows because that's where they take a break, in their hot car! Well I had An Ice chest full of water, some cookies and offered my patio for them to sit in the shade. I was told that never happens for them? So if you have a roof done just remember those people working in the blazing heat and at the very least have some water, and offer the shade of a tree and maybe buy them some popsicles or a snack, they deserve it!!!! As with others, I would give a zero review if possible. We had five outside doors and three windows replaced way over a year ago. The sales lady was nice, but each new step, you had to deal with a new person and practically start the process over. It took a lot of time to get the doors and windows. The installation was horrible, it took about six months to get the doors to shut without having to slam them. The second time out, the person finally got them ok, but my front door still flies open occasionally. As soon as the windows, which came much later, were installed, two of them would not open. It has been back and forth, manufacture, install, who's fault kind of thing. They are still not fixed. The expense was not reasonable, but we thought we were paying for quality and service. Which is what we found out was exactly what we did not pay for. In hind sight, should have continued to look for someone else Edit: wow, I was wondering if they just did not like us, but after reading the other low reviews, it sounds like those customers were also treated with subpar service. TVE finally put my daughter's experience on their top line. The man who came out had called and asked her if he did the things needed would she change her review. She said she would think about. After the repairs (which did not include everything that was talked about) she simply deleted her review. She was just done with TVE. I'm really glad they can do good service, by the look of the 5 star reviews, but that was just not our experience. Many phone calls, emails, warranty calls and photos all getting lost, I think that the stress of the time line and work does not indicate a good review. Way too long for customer to have to continuously bring issues to their attention. Travis came out and fixed our front door, and did a great job. Thank you Travis. Maybe if you choose TVE for your experience, get it in writing that you will be treated like a customer with the 5 star reviews and not one like the 1-2 star reviews So I researched the payment , paid 9442.00 in January 2024 and 9445.00 in February 2024. Update to previous review of 2023. The seal is now broken on the window in the kitchen. There is moisture build up in it. It looks like we're going to have to replace all windows Treasure Valley installed. Am working with the manufacturer as we sure cannot trust TV to come out and break things again. Don't use this company! Don't be deceived by the glossy handouts, promises made and the smiles and handshakes. In my opinion their business practices are dishonest, and their employees will lie and deceive you. I had them replace siding and install windows as well as do house painting in 2025. Some of my experiences: 1) In several instances they did not follow contractual items, and their advertising and statements made were false and misleading. One glaring example: my contract stated they would use a higher-grade paint (Sherwin-Williams Emerald) for the exterior of my house. In fact, they used a lower grade paint (Sherwin-Williams Super). The paint I contracted for was significantly different in cost and quality than the lower grade paint. Emerald $67/gal vs Super $50/gal. More importantly Emerald is estimated to last 12-15 years before needing repainting while Super is only estimated to last 5-7 years. In essence I overpaid for the paint and will be faced with the costs of repainting much sooner than I expected. When confronted with this they attempted to say that there was no difference in the two grades of paint (an outright lie). I suspect they have deceived many customers with this ploy. 2) At our initial sales meeting I was told (by Rob) that the building permit process would be taken care of by TVE. My assumption was that this would include inspections by the building inspector. Why would it not include the inspections unless it lets TVE off the hook for any remediation needed for faulty work? There were no inspections done! So, the homeowner will likely find no recourse from either TVE or from homeowner's insurance to remediate any damage done by faulty work. Again, I suspect that this is a practice that has affected many of their clients. 3) Poor and negligent oversight by the job foreman. In fact, the foreman (Eric)was rarely at the job site. This led to confusion on the part of the subcontractors as to the job requirements, construction debris being left throughout the job site for many weeks and items that should have been re-used (as discussed) instead being removed when they finally cleaned up the site. There also was no final walk through to discuss any of the contractual deficiencies. 4) Their billing practices are vague and confusing. The customer is also pressured to pay within 5 days or face exorbitant late fees. I received a late fee of $250 when my bill wasn't paid in the required time. Look elsewhere if you need a general contractor for roofing, siding and windows. read more

Bought a home that TVE had put a new roof on a few weeks earlier. Roof was found to have new shingles only laid directly over dry rotted plywood- 40 sheets! Do not ever hire this company. EIGHT months ago, I signed a contract to order a new front door. Not a fancy one, but one that required ordering it. Eight months late, the job isn't finished, the work they did do is shoddy, and I am using the remaining balance "owed" to TVE to hire a carpenter to fix and finish the job. Thank goodness this was not a big expenditure (like some of the other reviews here). AND I found a mouse in my kitchen this morning, probably came through the big gap around the front door. This is the email I sent them this morning: Dear Treasure Valley Exteriors: I am terminating this job, and have hired a contractor to correct, and finish your job of installing a new front door and sidelight, which you have failed to complete in 8 MONTHS. The balance due was $2407.89, minus the $1000 discount you said in September that would apply for your screw ups. That remaining balance of $1407.89 is going towards my hiring a carpenter to fix it all. I started the process of ordering a new front door and sidelight, in July 2023. My original solid wood door from 1971 was very warped, and basically unfixable. Treasure Valley Exteriors came to my house on July 19th, and I signed a $4707.89 quote for the new door on July 25th, paying them a 50% deposit of $2300. Over the next month, THREE different men came by to re-measure, look over "the job." At that point, I was very impressed, thinking, wow, they are really making sure to get this job right. They promised to have it all in by the end of September because I was leaving town on vacation on October 2nd. On Sept. 18th, they came to install the door, but when they got here, they said they didn't have the right tools, and left. Weird, since 3 different visits had assessed the job. They came back on Sept. 25th with the door, ripped off the trim and removed my door, then 10 minutes later said the door they ordered is the wrong size. I told them they're not leaving until they've somehow "fixed" my old door so I can lock it when I leave town, which they do by pounding on it, wrecking it even more, but got it to lock. This did make it so drafty that I was putting a sheet over the door all winter, and I'm not joking. In the meantime, they promised to re-order the right size door and sidelight, and said they would offer me a $1000 discount for my trouble. January 22, 2024, they finally get the right size door in, and after installing it, discover that they have the wrong size brick molding, so there is a huge exterior gap all around the door. Also, because they just re-used the old interior trim, for a door set that was smaller than the original, it left a big gap around the door on the inside, not to mention a crack in the molding on the bottom right, a big air gap on the right side, sticky caulking, nail head sticking up, etc. And there is no installed chrome peep hole, as specified in the contract. So they said they'd order the right brick molding, and send "the peep hole guy." I'll add that they used the new handle-set I had on my old door, and it doesn't lock smoothly, as I believe the strike plate is slightly off, and there is no faceplate (said they didn't have one that fits). This was 9 weeks ago. I've called twice, with no resolution. Photos attached. Over all, I called probably 10 times this winter, with zero response to get the job done correctly. I have hired a carpenter to finish and fix this job. And will never ever use or recommend Treasure Valley Exteriors again. I don't know what happened to this company, but according to recent online reviews, their service fell off a cliff this past year. I call my experience with Treasure Valley Exteriors "The 20K Mistake" By far the worst experience I have ever had! In August 2023 I ordered new windows, doors, and a skylight and provided a 2 month estimate for completion. They lost the measurements requiring them to come measure multiple times. 2 months passed with no updates I felt scammed. After countless texts, phone calls, and emails they realized the manufacturing company had "misplaced" my order and began working on it. The window and door install was completely awful and they had to send another crew to cleanup the initial work (made things a bit better but still subpar). Treasure valley exteriors helped us to choose windows and a new front door that fit our home and budget. Jamie called every week to update us on our windows and after they were installed she called to make sure everything was okay. We would recommend them to anyone that wants new windows and doors. 10/17/24 We have contacted Treasure Valley several times about our broken window. They told us they would contact the manufacturer, but did not. They gave us the information to turn in the claim ourselves, but it was to the wrong warranty claims service. It has been 4 months of run around with this company to get our window fixed. Before this it took them 2 years to fix our window that was installed with a broken lock. When we had our roof replaced by this company we were told they would install skylights only to tell us a week before install that they don't install skylights. We have talked ti the owner about several of the problems we have had only to be treated like we are the problem and not the customer service we have received. Treasure Valley Exteriors was great when we bought our windows, but their customer service has changed in the last year and a half so much that we will never use them again.. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I saw a few negative reviews before hiring them but I thought I'd take my chance because there were more good than bad. I should've listened to my gut. We hired TVE in April 2021 to replace the siding on our 1,300sq/ft home. The work they've done does not reflect what was promised by Max (the owner) at all and we've had to ask them to come out over 6 times to replace broken boards and other things, repaint sections, replace all of our outlet covers that they broke off for some reason.. while they repeatedly asked for payment for a "completed" project that is still incomplete almost 5 months later. These pictures are what we're currently still dealing with. The house and carport needs a second coat of paint, the caulking is extremely messy, and a section of board still needs to be completely replaced. The JamesHardy board which is supposed to be weather sealed is not due to crooked gaps in the butt joints from improper installation. We also ordered a 50's style awning which came 6 inches too big on each side and they have not offered any solution. Often they came out to "fix" something only to make it worse and have shown zero communication to complete our project. This whole process has made me feel like just dollar signs to them. read more

Do not hire this company, they are unethical, dishonest, lack professionalism, and will only make your experience stressful and extremely disappointing. We used them to repair windows, trim, siding, stone veneer and painting. The painting and stone subcontractor did a great job, but everything that Treasure Valley handled was a complete disaster and my wife and I spent more time managing the project over a 10 month duration since Treasure Valley was never on site. The were always wanting to charge us extra even when there quote clearly covered the work, they were rarely on site to over see the work and anytime we had an issue it took forever to get them to respond. I cannot reiterate enough, stay away from this company. read more

The company owner has refused to accept responsibility for the shoddy work, even though structural engineers and insurance inspectors have affirmed that the leaking roof is to blame for the damage. He agreed to help pay for some of the damage, then stiffed me. Look elsewhere! read more

This company does not manufacture the window, does not install the windows, does not warranty the windows. I bought 5 triple pane windows 4 years ago and 5 more triple pane windows 2 years ago. I have one window that was installed 2 years ago and now has a broken lock. Treasure Valley Exteriors referred me to the mfg on the east coast. The mfg told me I had to file a claim on their website. It has now been 45 days with not a word if they will replace the lock. I also now have a window that was installed 4 years ago that is now leaking. Since no one is taking responsibility for a broken lock on a 2 year old window, why would they take responsibility for a 4 year old window. Before you buy windows, ask them who will manufacture them, who will install them, and who will take responsibility for any issues down the road. read more

Then had attitude from the get-go because we didn't have $million dollar house when I said I was not going to pay $6000 for a front door he said that he knew that as soon as he walked up well first off, we can't afford to pay the 6000 that way when you don't have to and we're in the middle of a remodel, so yes, everything does not look the greatest but for him to make that comment was very unprofessional read more

Treasure Valley refused to clearly detail a simple window replacement and refused to even do the work when I questioned how they were replacing trim on a window. I simply wanted clarity of how the exterior trim would be replaced and sealed. I found the person visiting the property to be nice, but the follow up with the quote was frustrating and unclear. I am a 40 year experienced builder and was astonished at their lack of customer care. They lose my and any referral what so ever. read more

The main reason we replaced our windows was in hopes to reduce the traffic noise. Our salesperson recommended the triple-pane windows. He said it would reduce the noise significantly. We spent way more money than we planned and it made zero difference in the noise level. In fact, in one room it seems worse, and also warmer. One of the exterior sills is bent, and the patio slider is missing the plugs. It's been 2 months and we are still waiting on the "warranty replacements". read more

Signed contract for a new roof. This company did not show up on time. they only worked for a few hours each day and strung out a two day job into 4 day and two of those day I had my garage blocked by a dump truck that was leaking diesel fuel constantly out of the gas tank they had a cup under it but it overflowed all over my driveway. Owner had said several times he would clean it up and never did. I have paid him several thousand already and owe him 750.00 and told him I would hold payment if he didn't clean it up, but I didn't I am still waiting for the clean up in front of my house and on my drive way. This action by this has shown total disregard to my personal property and has now threatened to put a lien on my house as it is up for sale, by calling my realtor and telling her I owe this stupid high amount to him and he is putting a lien on my house. Then I get a call from realtor and she explains to me that she can not show this house at this time because there is a lien that is being put on your house because I haven't paid the roofer. that is all a lie. first no payment was due, and what right does he have to defame my character by saying I didn't not pay him when he got a check for 7900.00 or about that much and then my first payment of 250.00 wasn't due yet. All the trouble he has caused me I still paid him and it isn't me not to pay a bill AND PAY IT ON TIME. Listen to your gut, take the bad reviews seriously, and just DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! Too bad Holmes on Homes doesn't come to Boise cause TVC would have their a$$es handed to them! Never in a million years would we have thought some simple vertical siding replacements and caulking anywhere that needed it, would end in feeling like we were robbed and needing to hire someone else to finish the job! Several walkarounds, several times having sub contractors come out, still not complete! They initially got the paint wrong, but corrected that issue sloppily. Half-ass caulked some random places, but completely missed the major stuff that had been talked about and shown on multiple occasions. They replaced the trim on the sides of our garage doors, didn't match up with the top trim that stayed. Thankfully it's not terribly noticeable, but now we have to figure out where to put the garage door opener because it won't fit where it was. Oh, and lets not forget the fact they took tools out of our garage without our permission, used them, and then left them outside on the ground when they were "finished" the first time!!! Give your business and money to someone that deserves it... TVC is NOT deserving of any of it!! Nothing like having to pay full price for a half-ass job and all of the frustration that's come with this project! UPDATE: Went in to pay our bill so these crooks wouldn't put a lien on our home and when I confronted them about the job not being done, they "couldn't imagine" that it wasn't, but never once offered to come back and take a look at what I was referring to, finish the job, or anything. Replaced a 59 1/2 inch by 59 1/2 inch window in my dining room. The previous windows were 17 years old and had a broken seal with vapor and moisture stains. It was replaced by an Alsible to series window with low E and Argon gas. Mark and Morgan came and gave me an estimate, measured the window. He was very prompt and professional. The company called and set up a date/ time to install it. It took only one hour to replace the window. He has years of experience and made it look easy. Im very picky and the workmanship, courtesy and professionalism of this company was excellent. I love my new windows. read more

Had Treasure Valley come out and redo our whole home with James Hardie Siding, brand new Pella Windows and doors, a brand new roof from Owens Corning and they finish it up with a beautiful brand new paint job. The crews were very professional and clean did a wonderful job.I recommend this company to all my friends and family for any exterior work they need done. The office staff was very knowledgeable and answered any questions or concerns I had. The communication process for my project was very smooth And timely with very little bumps. We are always a bit reluctant to provide recommendations until we have some history with any of our vendors. Since our first job with Treasure Valley Exteriors we have completed four more separate projects and couldn't be happier. This company is well run, super competitive and do an exceptional job with every installation. Whether its windows, gutters, or stucco, they are timely and have left every job site super clean. The installers are super skilled and very easy to communicate with no matter how basic your questions may be. They take the time to explain things so you understand exactly what is being done, and when it will be completed. This all starts with their owner, Max. The company sent two workmen out to remove water damaged siding and replace it with new siding. When they started pulling off the bad siding, it was apparent that a lot more siding was damaged than originally thought. They called the owner who had originally given me a quote and he offered to replace the additional siding for a very small increase in price. This is where many contractors would really sting you as they have you over a barrel. The job was quite difficult because most of the damaged siding, including the additional, was located all around the utilities where they enter the house. The workers did a good job despite the difficulty of the circumstances and were done in a matter of a few hours. Cleanup was completed very effectively. This was a small job for this business so I was flexible on the scheduling. They called me the day before they wanted to come out and it worked out great for me. read more

They worked with my insurance company to get the costs covered due to wind damage, helped me through the process of paperwork, and even threw in extra flashing and venting that I needed at no additional cost. This company started out as customer oriented. I have some damage to my roof after a major wind and rain storm. The guy that showed up seemed like he was responsible. But.. He ripped me off by going and buying a camping tarp to cover a few spots missing tile on my roof. Didn't even cover the spots that needed it This 30.00 tarp cost me 395.00. Then he blew me off all week knowing more wind and rain was on its way while telling me oh well the damage was already done. I feel I was blown off and screwed due to the fact my job probably was not a big ticket item. I was told if there was more damage that I could have my insurance cover it. Costly mistake with a known company that seems to let their customers down. I received a lot of excuses and blown off multiple times. I called a reputable roofer/construction company to assess the damage, he was out within a couple of hours and told me I was taken advantage off! That he will back me up that the 30.00 camping tarp that this company used and charged me 395.00 for was a joke. I will be calling someone to be refunded. This company needs to learn the proper customer service etiquette. I would not recommend this company to even someone I do not like. read more

Treasure Valley Exteriors is the worst company we have ever done business with. We signed a contract to have them replace some damaged siding and trim pieces on our shop, repaint, and add gutters in August 2016. A job that should have been fairly easy but took them 6 months to complete. The salesman, Mark, was great at first (he walked all around our shop with us and we pointed out all the places that needed repair) and the business was rated A+ with BBB so we decided to have them do our work. In October 2016, they finally sent someone out to make the repairs, but he only replaced the corner trim pieces (some of which did not need replaced) and none of the other rotted, cracked trim pieces. It took multiple phone calls, voicemails, and emails to get them to come out multiple times to get everything fixed and ready for paint. The salesman's response was, "Well, the work that you wanted done didn't fit within the price we quoted you." My thought is, why have someone give you an estimate if they aren't going to give you an accurate estimate for what you want done? I had him come out to our home and again, we walked all the way around the shop making another list of all the pieces that still needed replaced. He added an additional $800 to our original estimate to fix all the trim pieces and said they could not replace the damaged (warped) siding as they'd have to pull the whole bottom off and would have a hard time matching it up with the remaining siding. The damage to the siding wasn't bad enough so we decided to leave it. I asked about nail holes and gaps in the siding, and he salesman advised the painting crew would come out and prep and fill holes before they painted. Once all the repair/replacement work was completed, they sent the painting crew out in November 2016. There was no prep work done prior to being painted. It was cold and had been rainy on and off the week prior. I told the office manager, that we were ok with waiting for the weather to warm up in Spring if it was too late in the year to do it, that we wanted to make sure it was done correctly. She advised that the weather should be good enough. The painters came and were done in one day while we were at work. Now, it's May 2017 and the paint is already peeling & cracking. The gutters...another big problem. They weren't installed until December 2016. We were very specific with the salesman with where we needed the gutter downspouts to come down as there is a drainage issue on our property. I asked them many times to call us so one of us could meet the installer to explain where we needed the downspout to drain. They never called. It took 4 tries for them to get it correct. One of the times, they ended up moving the downspout so that it drained directly onto our back patio. During this past really bad winter, all the water drained straight onto our back patio which turned our patio into an ice rink. When they finally got it moved to the right place, in February, instead of them doing the job correctly, they just bent the downspout around the corner of our shop. After another phone call, they finally got it where it needed to be. However, we ended up paying full price for brand new gutters that have multiple holes cut into them from them moving the gutter downspout 3 times. We are sick of dealing with this company. We will have to go around ourselves and scrape and repair the paint job they did. We will not have them do it. Thankfully, we did not sign a contract to have them do our home as well. I can't imagine the nightmare that would have been. There is obviously no communication between the salesman, office personnel, painters, contractors, etc. which makes for a terrible business that customers, unfortunately, pay the consequences for. We paid our bill and have washed our hands of this company. I am writing this review to hopefully save another homeowner from the headaches and stress we had to endure in dealing with this company. read more
