When Traverso came to my house to remove several trees from my hillside they had to lower my television cable. I only noticed after they had left that they had forgotten to unwrap some caution tape from the cable they had attached when it was lowered. The speed with which they came back to fix this simple oversight just proved what a great company they are!! The whole experience was great from the minute John came by to check out the health of our trees and give us an estimate for the removal of some of them to when they stopped by to remove the caution tape. I plan on calling them again in the future for some pruning work. Highly recommend!!!! read more

Great Service! I needed some wood for a special project. I called them up and John helped me right away. He called a crew that had started that day and had them set aside the stuff that I needed, then called me back. I went out there an hour later and it was all set! The guys helped me load it in the Truck (five 8' logs) and I was on my way. Thanks Traverso! read more

We have lived in our home for 30 years, and our trees all needed serious attention. Raphael came out for the bid (we received 3 bids; Traverso was the median priced bid) and we were impressed with his knowledge and suggestions. It took 2 days for Traverso to finish trimming/removing the trees on our original contract (and we only have 1/4 acre!) They also thinned 4 of our large and overgrown redwood trees, beautifully. After the 1st day, we requested some minor adjustments, which Raphael and his crew (6 total) did right away on day 2, without problem. They were on time, hard-working, professional, and cleaned up our yard nicely, on both days. You will not be disappointed with Traverso Trees! read more

Traverso provides excellent service, competitive prices, and insured. We had a large acacia tree leaning on the side of our roof and also an ash tree partially overhanging the roof. I was concerned about fire danger. The Traverso arborist came out explained exactly what was needed to be done and provided a quote. The office person responds promptly to both phone and email requests. They arrived on the day promised, on time, had a large crew, got the job done, and cleaned up. The crew supervisor was courteous. This is the second time I have used Traverso and I highly recommend them. read more

Today Traverso came out and did a major trim on our 300 year old oak. WOW is all I can say! We have been here 20 years and have never had it look so good. Pricing was fair/reasonable, guys were amazing to work with (listened to our request to trim more than normal) and also very concerned about the health of the tree. We really could not have asked for anything more than the service we received today. We will never call anyone else. If we could give him more than 5 stars, we would! Thanks! read more

I was happy with every aspect of their service. Rafael did the initial bid for me and then led the team that came. The were just a bunch of nice guys and did an excellent, thoughtful job. I had a bunch of damage done years ago but one of those Tonganese guys who go around the neighborhood and they destroyed some of my trees. Every bit of Traverso is professional so I'll never make that mistake again! read more

Traverso tree service will always exceed your expectations. They're highly professional , reliably on time and extremely competent. If that weren't enough, they often leave the property cleaner than when they arrived. You hardly know they were there, except that the trees look much better after they Finish. read more

I had Traverso come out again and they did an amazing job again! They are very professional and quick. They clean-up too. I recommend them for any tree service. Everything was done in a timely manner. read more

They showed up in the window that they said they would. They did a great job and they were very nice to speak to during the whole process.

Traverso Tree Service helped us with clean-up, trimming and removal of many trees on our large, rather overgrown property. John Traverso bid the job and provided explanations for his recommendations that left us confident that we were in good hands. He also took on the difficult task of convincing our neighbor, who was upset by the acorns and leaves on his driveway, that our coastal oaks did not need to be cut back to the property line. It was clear to us that John and his team care about the well being of the trees they work on. They completed the large job in two days and with impressive attention to detail. We have worked with other tree services in the past, but will be giving our business to Traverso Tree Service in the future. read more

We are repeat customers....very pleasant experience from start to finish! John and Luis are very Knowledgeable John's wife return calls within a few hours Very reasonable prices compare to other bids Take pride in their work Our neighbor used another tree service and they absolutely butchered a beautiful tree! We will never consider another company. read more

We are so pleased with the tree trimming and pruning that Traverso Tree Service has completed for us. In November 2018 they took care of 4 birch trees. The trees look great. January 2019 they trimmed and pruned a very large pin oak tree that really needed some handling. They couldn't have done a better job. With both jobs they were on time and cleaned up completely. They were courteous and professional. We highly recommend Traverso Tree Service! read more

I'm busy. I won't take the time to write a review unless I have an exceptionally good or exceptionally bad experience. So the fact that I'm writing this review tells you something... Traverse a tree service did a great job trimming my trees and grinding some stumps in my backyard. They did the work last month, but I keep looking out in the backyard; and my trees look more beautiful than ever. I've had other tree services care for my trees, but the shape of my trees now is just exceptional. It's an art. read more

Excellent in all respects. Fair price, excellent job and thorough cleanup. A crew of four workers spent almost five hours trimming one huge tree. I watched the whole process and I was impressed with both their skill and hard work. The tree looks great. I think it was a bargain. read more

Traverso was recommended by our Realtor. We had a dead tree removed and the lower branches of a large redwood tree removed to raise the lower canopy and the ends of some branches trimmed away from our home. The work was quick, accurate and flawless. I wanted my wife to direct the trimming of the redwood tree and needed to coordinate with her schedule. I called Traverso the day before the appointment and they had noted their information to coordinate with my wife. The offered to call when they were on their way and did so. They cleaned up completely and the price was reasonable. Highly recommended! read more

Their pricing was in alignment with the others who came to bid on the job. The crew showed up on time, were polite and professional. Cut everything just like we wanted and left our yards spotless. If I need more tree work done, I'll definitely reach back out to them. Thank you Traverso for a wonderful experience. read more

Traverso Tree Service came highly recommended. But I had no idea they would be this good . I have lived in my home for 29 years and have had multiple companies work on my trees and I have never seen the service and competence I received from this company. The workers were competent, courteous, and totally dedicated. They did the most beautiful job on my 60 foot pine which involved them cutting branches that fell into 3 neighbors gardens. They quickly and competently removed the branches and all the accompanying debris. They removed several other trees with the same kind of competence. They pruned some other trees and I celebrated the next morning when I saw all the beautiful light streaming into my garden. I will never use another company but this one. I couldn't recommend them more highly. read more

We moved to Lafayette 3 and 1/2 years ago. Our yard has an amazing inventory of trees...some are over 100 years old. Many needed to be seriously trimmed and thinned out. We were referred to Traverso Tree Services and are we ever happy that happened. Traverso did a tremendous job of identifying what should be done (report provided by a licensed arborist). The crew that performed the work was highly professional and competent. Nearly all of the crew have worked for Traverso for many years. The job was completed as promised and within the estimated cost provided before the agreement was signed. We have engaged Traverso twice since our relationship started and again experienced nothing but the best. I would recommend Traverso to anyone interested in quality work performed by quality people. Great crew, great work, very professional! Like clock work! They left the yard spotless. They were highly recommended and earned all five stars. I'd recommend them to any one, and would call on them again. read more

From the fair and accurate estimate provided by Scott Foster to the completed pruning of the sycamore and japanese maple on my property I can say that I'm THRILLED with the level of professionalism and expertise exhibited by Beto and Arnulfo the arborists who were assigned to complete the work. Branches were methodically selected for removal leaving beautifully graceful and well balanced trees. A long pole saw was the tool utilized for pruning and only rarely was a chain saw used to remove the larger dead limbs. Complete satisfaction and daily pleasure viewing these trees is the highest praise I can give Traverso Tree Service and the excellent standards Mr. John Traverso requires of all of his arborists. read more

The worse hack job ever! My job was quite modest but it almost ended up in disaster. Three Spanish speakers showed up without any supervisor and without much of a clue as to what they needed to do. An ornamental weeping cherry tree was barely saved thanks to my intervention. I had to give precise instructions to keep it from being destroyed. As to being able to decently shape a tree, they had absolutely no clue. This business is somewhat inexpensive, but I won't let them come near my trees again. read more

The crew visited our place for a dead birch tree removal including the stump. I was really impressed by how professional and efficient the crew was. They came around noon and just got started right away and in less than 2 hours they finished their amazing work and cleaned our front yard carefully. We had a team of 3 and they were very nice and generously answered all the questions I had including what to do next after the stump is removed. With all the great work they do, their quote was actually pretty good. It did take a little while to schedule the visit (over 1 months for my case and I understand part of it is due to the recent fire), but, hey, if it's not an emergency, definitely worth the wait! Highly recommend! read more

My neighbor had this company prune their trees a few days ago. To my surprise, I found one of their workers standing on top of my garage roof to help lower a branch that was being cut at my neighbor's. You'd think that they could come knock on your door (and ask for permission) before trespassing onto your property. They didn't. read more

We had them remove small flowering almond that was dying, remove deadwood from and "lift" the crown of a large silver maple, and thin and shape a Japanese maple and olive tree, and clean up two liquidambars. They did a great gob on everything -- Both the maples look like new trees, but retain their natural form. Removal of the almond was done neatly and the stump was ground down to well below the surface. Cleanup was fine, and you wouldn't know they had been here. Best of all, they were the cheapest of the 3 bids I received. I would definitely call them the next time I need a tree service. read more

Traverso just sent out their arborist to help with a redwood tree we were concerned about. Steve called to see if he could come early (worked out perfectly), was knowledgeable, helpful, and quick with his diagnosis. Also, since he found no issues with the tree, there was no charge. I'm always grateful for a business that clearly values client service, knowing it leads to long term relationships. We've got a lot of trees and look forward to giving them (paid!) business in the future. read more

Many years ago we used Traverso on the trees we had then. Recently we needed a tree trimmed in our front yard because there were limbs growing over our house and into the neighbor's yard. We also wanted the overgrowth from a neighbor's privet trees trimmed back because we were tired of pulling up small privet trees every year. The estimator came out as scheduled and gave us what I believe was a good price. He also offered valuable suggestions about what would look good and prevented us from making a mistake in that area. The workmen showed up on time and did exactly what we had requested. What lifted the review into the 5 star category is that all the debris was cleaned up completely. read more

My husband and I recently bought a home in Berkeley that has a fairly wide variety of trees on the property. Unfortunately, the previous owners did not make tree care a priority and, thus, many of the trees were dead or dying, had been topped, or never pruned at all. We felt that our property had so much potential but were overwhelmed by the trees in various stages of health. Steve came out and spent nearly an hour with my husband and me (free of charge!) educating us on the types of trees we had. At a glance, he could give us a pruning history of the tree and tell us why certain fruit trees were not producing fruit. He told us which trees were worth preserving and which were not. And he even gave us tips on how to prune trees ourselves, should we choose to be so daring! And most practically, he took into consideration our budget and helped us prioritize certain tree services over others. In the end, we had many ugly, unhealthy trees and shrubs removed, and had a few large trees (including our persimmon tree) beautifully pruned. My toddler son and I watched much of the work being done and I was quite impressed with the efficiency and professionalism of the crew. Not only did they arrive promptly and do the work within the estimated amount of time, but the cleanup was fantastic. At last, light is streaming through the trees into our backyard and we have a wonderful array of trees that are not only healthier, but prettier as well. All this, for a very reasonable price, that will pay dividends in the years to come. read more

Efficient; on time; hard working; organized We had several 30 yr old redwoods removed, a huge oak trimmed, and trimming done on several other redwoods. My husband wanted to do it himself to save money but I wanted to hire out to save my husband. I mean really, hiring Traverso was less than the deductible on our health insurance and I have a feeling that it got done much more quickly. They were less expensive than the other bid and did not miss a beat whether it be showing up for the bid or arriving on the day of the job. Every man on the job had a specific duty and the operation was like a well oiled machine. I was shocked that they could get so much done in one day. And they take all the remnants away. My husband has been using the chain saw on some pine limbs but they are not fitting very easily into the green compost bin for pick up. Oh well, at least hubby gets to run a loud gas powered machine, vroom vroom. read more

Scott Foster, the estimator was efficient and knew his stuff. Raphael the foreman was congenial, knowledgeable, and also very efficient. They arrived the day they promised, at the time they promised, and did the work they promised! All this during the worst rain/wind storm the Bay Area has seen in years! They cleaned up all the debris and even placed the furniture back in place on the patio. I would highly recommend them as a reliable and professional arborist company. Note: I used to be in this business 30 years ago on the East Coast, so it was good to see the professionalism being maintained! Kudos! read more

After all the reviews and a decent quote, I expected a great service. They did a terrible job, hacked at trees. Not at all what the quote said to do. Now I have really awful looking trees. I have them coming out to review the work done. Let's hope they can remedy it a bit. I'm not sure I understand how this can happen. I honestly could have done a much better job myself but did not have the equipment or agility to climb trees. I see someone else had same experience in 2012. Sounds like exactly what happened to me. 3 guys who hadn't got a clue and I had to intervene in the end to at least get the job done and prevent it from becoming more of a disaster. I expected someone who would supervise and make precise cuts not stab at branches without any thought as to shaping the trees. Leave jagged branches sticking up. Disappointing to say the least. read more

Traverso was recommended on Angie's List and we found them to be highly professional and competent. We needed a big spruce tree removed to make way for some expansion of our foundation. I was concerned about its proximity to other large trees and the fact that it overhung our house and was wedged between us and the neighbor's garage. If that wasn't enough to worry about, the steep, narrow stairs to the back were the only source of access. We weren't able to get home in time for the start of the job and by the time we arrived, it was complete. No mess, no damage, no problem. They were gone and it was like the tree had never been there. We got a call the next day asking if we were satisfied but he bill didn't arrive for three weeks. These guys are wonderful. read more

The service was excellent. Scheduling the estimate was easy and the work was done quickly and thoroughly. Had three bids and theirs was the lowest. Even more important was the manner they handled an issue that arose during a subsequent service. Once notified of the issue, they were exceptionally resposive and accomodating. They showed a true dedication to customer service and I will not bother shopping elsewhere. read more

I'm the neighbor of the client who hired Traverso. They showed up when they said they would. Used my driveway to access my neighbor's trees, did minimal damage to other plants.
