Update:: I was contacted by the owner who profusely apologized and offered to redo my nails. Unfortunately, that's impossible as I was only visiting. He also offered a refund which I accepted. He said he would re-train his staff and that it is a new business so they are learning. I understand the complexities of owning a business and wish them the best. I appreciate how quick he was to respond to my unpleasant experience. I may try just try them again if I'm in the area. Original Review:: I wasn't going to write a review even though I was dissatisfied with my service but it's 13 days later and my gel polish has chipped. Keep in mind, I went into the nail salon with a manicure from a different place in LA that I got a month earlier (4/25) that had not chipped but had just grown out. My friend and I made an appointment for this place and were taken in at 4:30. The younger lady worked on my nails and only took my old gel polish off with an electric buffer tool and was so rough that it hurt at times. Later, when she was working on another customer and I was getting my pedicure, the customer said she was burning her. So clearly, she does not have finesse using this tool. She did not clean my cuticles, soak my fingers, or any of the regular manicure things that are done. She took my old polish off and put the new polish on. So just a color change. She charged me $35 for a color change! She claimed the sequin polish she put over my 4th finger was a design. I thought a design was a design, not a 2nd polish over a color. She also charged me for a hand massage which I don't know how much that could cost. Even her application of polish was sloppy. This place is completely overpriced and I live in Los Angeles so I'm used to these prices. But at least I get quality. I would not recommend this place at all for a manicure. My pedicure lady however, was great. I didn't catch her name but she was one of the older ladies. She did all the pedicure things, nothing has chipped and its not even gel polish. That was $30. Less money and I got more. We picked this place based on the yelp reviews so I figured I should add my experience so people can beware. read more

I'm not one to write reviews but this experience was something.. I called to get my nails done for a wedding I'm going to and was grateful when Hot Tips had availability to get me in. Everyone was friendly but my mani was easily the worst I've gotten. The shape was awful, she didn't clean up my nails and left little nail particles to be seen under the polish, and don't even get me started on the mess she left underneath my nails. Very clean an excellent option for your manicure and pedicure needs. I was able to get a manicure with Yvonne and gel pedicure with Tracy. They both did a wonderful job. I couldn't be more pleased. Do not go here!! They started pedicures and don't have the little sheet that gives you options and tells you prices but I didn't think too much into it. Now I know why. At the end they told us the total was $160 for 2 pedicures!!!!!! That's OUTRAGEOUS!!! & it's cash only??? Did not mention that either. Very disappointed, feel like I got ripped off. Not only are they very talented, but their customer service is literally out of this world. Everyone is so kind and pleasant to speak with. They go above and to make sure you are comfortable in every aspect. I have just discovered this place, and I will not be replacing them any time soon! My nail tech Kiki (spelling?) did a great job, took her time, was very detailed and thorough. My nails looked so clean and healthy when I left, it made me realize I have to do that more often. The best part was the hands/feet massage included in the service. I didn't know how heavenly a hand massage could be. I paid extra to get more massage time. If you like your nail tech to be thorough and leave the salon with super clean nails, without being rushed, Kiki is a sure bet. I have already booked my next visit in 3 weeks. To which I replied: "Hi Yvone. I was not rude or disrespectful - I simply asked you to make my nails thinner when they clearly didn't look good. I think it was rude and disrespectful of you to rush your work, do a bad job, charge me full price (and even ask for a tip!) and now give me more bad service and attitude on yelp.
