They come to you day or night to pick up and drop off skis. You pay a slightly higher price for the convenience, but if you're with family, not having to haul equipment around makes it worth it. They will also swap out equipment as needed, in as short as 20 mins. My poles were too long, I called from DV slopes and they came in 20 mins to swap them out. I also did not like the first set of skis they gave me, swapped them out for something else the second day after describing what I didn't like. Second set was much better. Equipment: you can't actually book a specific brand but only request them and they try their best to match based on availability. Website has a list of different skis and boots available. They have a good selection of beginner and intermediate equipment. For higher end demo (Elite) skis for advanced skiers, their selection is not as good as some of the on slope shops. Still a decent selection for men. But I found their Elite ski selection for women to be average at best. They had the top rates skis this season for men, but not the similarly top rated women's versions. After two days, I ended up returning my skis from them and renting from a on-slope shop that had more high end women's ski options. I would highly recommend them for great service, convenience, for recreational skiers and for men's equipment.

It wasn't till this last time that I was fed up with uneducated online companies that my husband reminded me that Pitcher's manufactured our tramp. So, I went back yesterday and bought the perfect mat and bumper. On top of that, we had one portion of the frame that was tweaked. Rather than force us to buy a whole new frame, they sold us one piece. NOW, THAT'S SERVICE. I'm an unapologetically an online buyer yet I learned with this that face to face, local manufacturing is a beautiful thing. Pitcher's is my go to from now on! They have so many fun things in that store! Go check them out. And even though they were all masked, I was not and they didn't say one word to me. It was after the statewide mandate was lifted for groups under 50 ppl which was the case in the store. And.....the employee was very helpful. Straight to the point and very knowledgeable.

We stayed just 4 blocks away from base area for easy walk, and the staff all assisted us quickly & friendly. We enjoyed leaving our street-boot-shoes in their free cubbies-storage, with clear convenient drop off/pick up of our equipment each day. This is a large mountain, 40 lifts, 200+ runs, and we're looking forward to returning soon!

I made it though the season then had them replaced aga in, but was suggested to upgrade to a better holder. Even though the holes on the holder didn't match up, these guys made it work and they look great. Jim was awesome to work with. His customer service exceeded far beyond what I expected of their -or really any other- store. The craftsmanship of the work looked really good too. Nothing but positive things to say about this place.

Was referred here by a friend who had used this shop before…read more Super chill rental shop. Employees are always quick to greet you as soon as you walk in. They never seem too busy to help even when they're chatting amongst each other. They get you checked in and ready to go within minutes. They're super patient when it comes to choosing your gear etc. I asked about switching from skis to snowboarding, which they said was no problem at all. I also asked about adding an additional day onto my rental contract, they said no problem - when you return your gear, whatever additional days can be added on at the end. No need for more paperwork or a new contract; Just bring the gear back by 5 pm. This shop has a sister shop right next to the town lift in DT park city. However, this slope side shop is definitely less busy. In fact, they were willing to let us pick up our gear before 2pm whereas the other shop said wait til after 2pm because employees were on lunch break. So we opted to get our gear here, especially since they said they could hold the gear overnight for free, for us to pick up the next day. So we left our skis and poles there for morning pickup. They sized my friend for boots and they adjusted my rental skis to fit my boots. They sized up a helmet for my friend and then they had us try some poles. They recommended shorter poles, which we agreed to. They do not store your helmet or boots at the shop. What's good about the shop is they have cubbies where you can keep your shoes. They don't guarantee your stuff, so it's at your own risk, but I don't think anyone was going to steal my shoes. So i left my shoes there every day when i picked up my skis. They open at 8 and close at 5. The lifts are 9-430 so it works out perfectly. We would show up, get our boots and gear on, grab our skis and go! The shop was good about answering the phone when we called for help - someone had stolen one set of our poles. Of course there is a charge for lost poles, but I thought the charge was well below reason. Again, super chill shop. I never did change to snowboarding; the skis were perfect for the conditions. The shop has many employees. All were nice and helpful. They even let us in on the upcoming weekend events such as Gaper Day and something about a pond party etc. They gave us recommendations of what to do around town too. All in all, a great shop with wonderful employees with a convenient location and good gear. Renting online ahead of time will save you 20%. So for three days of ski/pole rental with the damage insurance, I paid $67. Great deal.

Would not recommend--they broke my Burton boots and were jerks about it…read more I originally went to Burton to fix my step in bindings and mentioned that my boot BOA was jamming so it was working but a pain to get on and off. I was told the track was breaking from overtightening; they cut the cord but then couldn't fix it because they didn't have a certain tool and said to show up to Max Snowboards the next morning because the guy helping me at Burton worked there too and had the tool there. The next morning he didn't show up so someone else worked on it; I told her everything that had happened and explicitly said that the guy from the night before specifically said do not pull the whole cord out or it wouldn't go back in and the boot would be ruined--she then proceeded to try to pull it out anyway. Alarmed, I said "wait no he said it wouldn't go back in!"--to which she rolled her eyes and said condescendingly "yea well he's not here and you asked me to fix it with the tools I have that he didn't have last night". Then she told me to wait there and took the boot with her to some back area to work on it. Long story short, two hours later my boot was permanently ruined beyond repair despite having worked the day before, and the whole time they acted like it would be fixed any minute while I stood in their shop. I had to buy brand new boots from them and they only gave me a 15% discount for ruining my boots (which were less than two years old), and with the discount it still wasn't cheaper than Burton online at the end of the day because of their markups. Horrible experience, and they weren't even apologetic.

I have rented from Parks Sportsman for years when I go to ski in Utah, but after an incident the…read morelast time I went, when they were closed on Sunday (and we were headed out) I tried to find a location that wouldn't present me with that same problem (I was leaving on Monday and had my own equipment, but my friends, who needed to rent, were leaving Sunday). The Pro Shop at Sundance not only got my friends up and fitted and out the door within 20 minutes, on a busy Friday morning, but they also only charged them $100 for two days of rental for two people. Now, we had a group discount because of an even that weekend, but it was 10%, so call it $120 for rental for two days for two people...sounds like a deal to me. But isn't that always how it works? :-)

When I worked…read moreretail management (8 years), I used to teach the sales staff that as important as it was to make a good impression during a sale, it was more important to make an even better impression when something was being returned. That's where the staff at Park's finally turned me off of this store completely. The last time I was here was just before Father's Day, 2010. I bought a 4 person tent that was on sale. The sales staff was very helpful in assisting me with the purchase. However, when I took it back because of a defect, the assistant store manager who was on duty and took care of the exchange acted like he was doing me a huge favor and that I was imposing on his time. That left a bad taste in my mouth. That wasn't even the end. I took the new tent (WFS 732) camping and should have checked it out first before (like I did with the original tent) heading out with my sons. One of the shockcords was broken so I had to do a quick fix while we were at our campsite. After returning home, I had to go buy new elastic cord to fix the shockcord. About a month later, my son took it camping and the plastic zipper broke and so did the plastic hook that holds the rain cover to the tent. By this time, I had lost my receipt and knowing how they acted with my exchange when I had my receipt, I figure why even bother. To anyone from Park's who may end up reading this, know that you lost a customer when you blew it on the exchange. Take a lesson from the folks at Nordstrom.
